Oh, it wasn't by choice for them. Dad was in the navy. He proposed to Mom either in Texas or New Mexico just before he was deployed to Hawaii. She accepted, quit her job and flew out there to join him. She was braver than I could ever be, that's for sure. They lived in Hawaii for some time and they both absolutely hated it.
