@Serena: yeah, I thought that was what you were going for, but with my memory, I couldn't be sure if it was you or someone else going for Library Science; especially after I learned your B.A. is in Political Science.
Most PoliSci majors I went to school with were planning on going to law school. Not me. I specialized in Political Theory and was working on Political Literature (primarily fiction) because I wanted to be a teacher. I had already started taking grad classes towards my MAEd and CA Teaching Credentials. My school was well known through the early 90's for having one of the best Education programs n Southern CA. After I graduated, the school's focus turned more towards Business and Law and pretty much left the Social Sciences department to rot D:

I ended up getting an entry level position (receptionist) for a national insurance carrier just after I got my degree (I actually worked 3 jobs at the same time to make ends meet- the receptionist gig was full time, but I earned less per year than one semester's tuition cost ... thus 3 jobs). I ended up moving up the ranks in the insurance industry and was making $50k/year by the time I was 25, so there was no incentive for me o become a teacher and take a $20k/year pay cut AND accrue a crapload of debt to get my Credentials and Masters degree.

I really hope you can get a fellowship for your grad school so that you don't end up racking up a ton of debt *nod*
