The boy trembled there in the back, trying to get himself under control. But when he heard he'd ruined something, slave-mode kicked in, and he immediately tried to get up, roll over, and fix whatever it was that he'd broken. Not only did he wind up making the pain worse, he wound up cutting himself on some of the broken glass, because his hands were shaking far too much to actually pick it up with any sort of dexterity. Of course, he was already whimpering, and a cut hand was nothing compared to the pain his his chest and leg, so he just watched the blood form, eyes wide and scared.
