I'm trying so hard
Not to feel this way
Putting up my guard
With every word you say

Perfection in my eyes
Your personality glows
Your beauty never dies
An eternal rose

Though you are my light
In a strange, dark place
I have no right
To be your friend, causing strife

But if I can get her to smile
Everything would have been worth the while

Her beauty is easy to see
Her kindness easy to feel
Though I know how she views me
I can't believe this is real

The way her hair falls
The color of her eyes
She breaks down my walls
Though I'm used to lies

A million miles away
The girl who means so much
Though it's hard to say
Not enough words for such

Though age and distance keep us apart
Always she is in my heart

Stares at me
Taunting and teasing
As I make a vain attempt
To put my feelings and beliefs
To words

Frustration envelops me
Resonating from my core
A loss of words
Like never before

Black confusion
Cloudy thoughts
No place of inspiration
Unable to create a beginning

Ideas swim in my mind
But none can be caught
No where to start
No place to stop

Dark feelings slide down your spine
A way for instinct to kick in
No place to hide
Getting ready, fight or flight
Eager for the answer to come
Running like a cheetah

Flowing through me like a waterfall
Emotions are confusing
Every day, a mixture combines
Lovely hate
Incomplete perfection
No way of explaining with words
Getting frustrated trying to explain
Simple complications

An arch of color
Suspended in the clean air
The rain went away
An optical illusion
Trying to get to the end

Dark gray clouds blow in
Showing signs that it might rain
Droplets hit the ground
Soon the rain is pouring down
Bringing life to everything
