True. Best to keep a positive attitude in a situation like this because such horrible things happening back to back really can knock you down.

I am really sorry for your loss. I hope your friend went quickly and peacefully. I also hope your friend with the head injury is given the chance to recover.

I know it's MUCH easier said than done, but try to be strong for your friends' families. Try to make it so that you are there for each other, as you are obviously affected by this as well.

Keep in mind that you haven't just joined an avatar site- you have joined a community. I have found solace in communities like Tris over the years. I sometimes vent in threads, but mostly in PMs. If you need someone to talk to in private, my PMs are always open.
There is also a new hangout that is for people who have (mainly medical) issues in life. These folks have done some amazing things against all odds- right down to cheating death itself. You can find a sympathetic ear and also inspiration from their personal stories. Youu might want to read through the pages to see what I mean.
