Hiya! Landlord is here, so no sleepy for this kitty right now. ∅_∅

Today is my 1 month anniversary! w00t!
And, against all odds, I have over 200 posts!!

This may not sound very exciting to anyone else, but (as my friends for the Old Realm know), I've never been very good at accruing a large number of posts. I lurk >_> and make Walls 'o Text, both of which go against the law of large numbers of posts. Ha! You thought for half a sec I was going to get all science-y on you, huh? XD

I'm not so much a "hard sciences" kind of person (my degree is in Political Science, for Pete's sake LOL).... I've always been a language person. I find the convo of languages over the last few pages to be quite intriguing. So many different languages being learned by the different peeps here- coolness!
I studied French for 6.5 years (I minored in it >.<), and I've picked up quite a bit of conversational Spanish from living in the South West for so long (since I was a teenager, I have spent 2 years in South East Texas, 11 years in Southern California, and almost 15 years in Arizona).
Sadly, since I've been "out of circulation" for the last 10 years, I've lost much of what I had picked up and/or learned *gerk*

So, Swedish? Finnish? Japanese? (Okay, that last one- not really a surprise LOL). I'm totally jelly!
I think I have a computer program or series of DVDs somewhere that "promises" to teach conversational Japanese in just a few weeks... but I'm skeptical, so I haven't tried it yet >.<

To those of you who are self-teaching: good on you!! I think that more people need to control their education rather than letting the education system control them *nod*

So, I'm sure my post is waaaay off topic by now, but I already typed it all out, so y'all get it :p
