Dexter's Laboratory had an episode banned thanks to The Silver Spooner, a gay stereotype parody of the Silver Surfer. (Though that's not really "crazy", it proves that a lot of cartoonists wanted to push the boundaries of "for children".) Even the girly, pre-teen cartoon As Told by Ginger had its grossness. Ginger's brother (Carl?) had an eyeball in a jar that, I believe, he stole from a hospital. Heck, even early Spongebob Squarepants had its moments. And let no one forget Courage the Cowardly Dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_BNtuQ4shs
