Lol, yeah, that is pretty weird XD
Whenever my mom would watch anime, it would be on accident. I'd be watching something when she got home and then she'd come into the TV room and eat a sandwich or something while watching just whatever's on . . . she always came in on the really awkward parts . . .

Have you watched the Death Note anime?
