      It's not just that it gets them out of your mind and leaves you free to forget about them the rest of the day, there could be a pattern to the ones you remember and writing them down could hep you identify it. If you don't usually remember them then there's obviously a reason that you do, and there's probably something your subconscious wants you to remember or realise. You'd be surprised what can come out of them.
 Plus those written-down dreams have other uses; mine become story-fodder ^.^
