Faithfulness doesn't NECESSARILY mean exclusivity. It means that you don't hide things from your partners. (This might mean exclusivity if your partner would be upset about you sleeping with someone else!) If you showed favoritism towards one over another, that wouldn't be being faithful to the second one. It's all about knowing each other's boundaries and respecting the shared beliefs of what's appropriate behavior. It's not impossible. It's just difficult.
(I'm monogamous but I do know polyamorous people, and historically speaking none of the world's major religions -- including Christianity! -- have forbidden it; it's actually something of a recent development. In terms of Christianity, the restriction to being married to only one person was said in reference to the requirements for elders and deacons.)
