Can't see webdings?

So, this has been bothering me for awhile now. I'm the kind of person who LOVES to use little webdings in her posts/signatures/thread titles... but for some reason, I can't see them at all.

I have the Lucinda Unicode sans thing-a-majigger, but I can't figure out why the little text stars and hearts and other symbols show up as simple boxes. A friend had suggested it was my Java-- but thats working just fine. I have the language pack, too, so I know thats not it... anyone have an idea what I can do to get me to view them?

That's a REALLY good question Batty. I know some others where those things show up as boxes too such as this heart that I love to use.. ♥

The Java doesn't seem like it would be the issue, perhaps the fonts you have installed aren't complete? Perhaps they are missing the symbols or something... Other than that I'm not sure :(

What is a webding?

/fails at life

Serra Britt 05-29-2011 11:16 AM

Webdiggns are the little symbols, like the heart ♥ and diamond ♦ you have in your sig Sushi :3

And I don't think not knowing this makes you fail at life D:

Sushi 05-29-2011 11:50 AM

Ah, lol. Maybe not fail at life. But fail at internet speech. xD

I love using them. So, batty can't see them? GASP.

Batty 05-29-2011 11:57 AM

Nope... I can't see them. ><; I've been trying to figure out WHY, but..

Sushi 05-29-2011 12:16 PM

Hmm... Maybe it's just your computer?

Serra Britt 05-29-2011 12:35 PM

It either has something to do with font or unicode settings I'm sure but... I'm not really sure what to suggest on HOW to check those :/

Sushi 05-29-2011 02:20 PM

Google. lol

Has an answer for everything. If I need to fix something, I usually just mess around with stuff till I fix it. xD Has always worked eventually.

I think it's the unicode...try toggling that a little. Or bother Coda. >.>

Batty 05-30-2011 11:45 AM

I screwed with the unicode. I ended up making a mess of things. xD;

So I guess I'll just bother Coda about it. Lmao.

Sushi 05-30-2011 02:47 PM

Yeeeeaaahhhh Coda will know!

Serra Britt 05-30-2011 06:18 PM

I want to know if you've fixed it yet xD I adore my little hearts! ♥

Batty 05-31-2011 10:53 AM

I still haven't gotten it fixed. xD; I wanna see everything I can do before I bother poor Coda about it.

Coda 05-31-2011 01:22 PM

It's definitely a font issue. What operating system are you using, and what version?

Batty 05-31-2011 06:14 PM

Windows XP home edition, Service pack 3.
