of course that's cooking! i can make instant ramen, and i call that cooking; i have set the bar in place and you are drifting high above it!

Mekatra 12-26-2019 09:29 AM

You changed the temperature of a food product and/or prepared it for (presumably) human consumption.

daikokunyo 12-26-2019 01:03 PM

what Mekatra said. :p-nod:

Mekatra 12-26-2019 02:33 PM

I mean the definition of cooking is to prepare food by mixing, combining and heating ingredients, so technically making fancy sushi isn't cooking but Makin boxed macaroni and cheese is. XD

Merskelly Metalien 12-26-2019 03:01 PM

-U- and salad???

Mekatra 12-26-2019 04:24 PM

No heating, not cooking. Unless you have a heated component. XD them's the rules as laid out by Websters

Merskelly Metalien 12-26-2019 04:37 PM

:/ *snap* darn.
I guess the only things I know how to make are pastas,
eggs,
and fish filets I guess. <x}

Anything I cook though I make with stress.
I call it stress cooking tho, because half the time I'm rushing everywhere putting ingredients away and washing hands and tossing things and getting things, and muttering to myself, "aaa what am I doing?? What am I doiiing? I don't know what the hell I'm doing! Iiiii need to LOWER that flame and not paaaanic!" <x'D

Mekatra 12-26-2019 05:56 PM

I am considered by my family to be a good cook and that sounds fairly similar to my ummm... Creative process...

littl3chocobo 12-27-2019 09:20 AM

i'm the cook by virtue of being the least shit at it x''D

daikokunyo 12-27-2019 09:29 AM

i usually don't cook without a recipe precisely because i'm prone to panicking. everyone is keen to get me out of that habit of always referring recipes, but i'm rigid.

littl3chocobo 12-27-2019 09:39 AM

just learn better recipes so others will warm up to them?

Mekatra 12-27-2019 10:21 AM

I only use recipes when baking or using an unfamiliar ingredient. I am a big fan of just combining things I Kno taste good together an hoping for the best.

littl3chocobo 12-27-2019 10:30 AM

i combo it. i get the recipe then i modify it to suit

Stabbsworth 12-27-2019 12:30 PM

banana bread is pretty much impossible to fuck up as far as i know.

Mekatra 12-27-2019 12:32 PM

Unless you accidentally put salt instead of sugar. Or forget the bananas.

Not that I have..ahem...ever done either of those.

Merskelly Metalien 12-27-2019 04:38 PM

:{ Awwhh banana bread calls for butter as an ingredient??..can I not have it though?? Or would I just use a substitute?
