New MMO Ive been playing

There is an MMO I've been playing a lot recently and the name of it is Eldevin. It's a very fun MMO and is kind of like Runescape but easier to get into. Currently, I am a warrior and a blacksmith but it's not really fun by myself. If you're interested you can message me or if you currently play the game.

Have to create an account and its a free MMO

I can fish for days!!!!!!!!!

Level 98 fishing : D

which in runescape world the exp to get to level 99 fishing from level 98 is the same as getting from level 1 to 98.

How well does this game run? I ask because my laptop is a cheap $200 laptop that crashes after running Minecraft for 10 minutes or so.

I would hate to get addicted to a game I can only play 10 mins at a time or not at all xD.

To be fair, Minecraft is actually REALLY system-intensive despite its simplistic appearance. The graphics aren't the hard part.

Tsukimiya 06-28-2017 11:13 AM

Didn't realize how system intensive it actually is.... is it because its mainly a java program?
Maybe I should actually attempt to run runescape on it and see how my computer fares. My previous roommate ran League on my computer one time and it actually performed decently much to my surprise.

Java certainly doesn't help, but really it's the fact that Minecraft has to deal with WAY more data than most games. It's creating new parts of the world every time you move 16 blocks, and it's keeping as much of it as it can in memory. And instead of having a small, well-known, pre-made set of things to keep track of, it has to do things like check every single water block in range for whether or not it needs to flow, and it has to do that every tick.

It's actually gotten better over time as Mojang has learned how to optimize things and skip doing things that it can tell it doesn't need to do, but that doesn't change the fact that the world itself takes up massive amounts of memory just to keep track of the parts you can see -- most games don't need nearly that much.

(Tip: Turn the render distance down as far as you can so the game doesn't have to keep as much of the world loaded.)

I think theres way too many mmos out there lol xd

Stabbsworth 09-15-2019 06:10 PM

there's more than a few MMOs out there.

i'll look into the one at the beginning of this post, though. might see if i can't get into it.

idk if Warframe qualifies as an MMO.

Espy 09-15-2019 06:18 PM

I believe it does.

Stabbsworth 09-15-2019 06:25 PM

interesting -- then again, that's probably due to the hangout areas.

Coda 09-15-2019 08:21 PM

It's more that it's structured like one -- you can meet up with anyone else who plays the game and form a group to go on missions. It's not like each player that wants to host a group is running their own server.
