Kory 11-02-2019 08:17 PM

I'm not much of a candy person...

If I get anything sweet, it's usually vegan cake
Or something like frozen yogurt :)

littl3chocobo 11-02-2019 09:29 PM

can honey'd beef count? it has some sweetness to it

Kory 11-02-2019 09:35 PM

It's much better than it sounds. After all, honey is a component of many kinds of barbecue sauce.

littl3chocobo 11-02-2019 09:41 PM

it's amazing, it's beef and honey and paprica and chili and red pepper and garlic and butter and onion and a little starch cooked until it reduces and served over rice and veg~

Stabbsworth 11-10-2019 01:17 PM

honey goes well with a lot of things.

currently wondering if it'd go well with marshmallows.

Unicornlynn 11-10-2019 06:38 PM

Gave all my candy to the goats!
There still trying to eat me!!!

Kory 11-10-2019 10:13 PM

Goats can eat candy? :O

Unicornlynn 11-10-2019 10:18 PM

Yah they can eat candy

Coda 11-10-2019 10:36 PM

Goats can eat basically anything. (Doesn't mean it's good for them.)

Unicornlynn 11-10-2019 10:57 PM

True that
I have goats that’s how I know

Kory 11-10-2019 11:46 PM

I didn't know goats even liked candy :D

Are they like pigs, then? Can goats eat meat?
I always assumed goats were herbivores.

Coda 11-11-2019 12:50 AM

Goats are ruminants, so they generally eat like cows, but they'll go after anything they can put in their mouths if they have half an inkling. They'll eat the labels off of tin cans!

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 12:36 PM

goooooaaaaats.

good lawn mowers, when they actually want to mow the lawn and not everything else.

also i'm kinning excalibur umbra now.

Kory 11-11-2019 08:01 PM

I like goats :D

I don't know why, but the word "goat" is very fun to say if you say it enough times

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 08:08 PM

i vaguely want to write the stupidest fanfiction you've ever seen in the don't starve tags on AO3 but god knows i'll sacrifice my other WIP for that.

Kory 11-11-2019 08:19 PM

I really enjoy Norse mythology...
But there's a story in particular about Loki being mated by a horse and getting pregnant and having an eight-legged horse-baby...

And my friend (Amane) likes tease me because I joke about writing fan fiction Loki x Horse...

BUT IT IS CANON!!!

Mekatra 11-11-2019 08:29 PM

Goats are surprisingly picky though. They're not classified as grazers but browsers, because they'll pick through plants and only eat the ones they like.

Ours were especially fond of fast food napkins...

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 08:30 PM

probably bc of the grease. i wouldn't know.

Mekatra 11-11-2019 08:35 PM

They were from Subway, so not greasy. I thought it was probably because they smelled like bread.

They LOVED bread, bananas and pumpkins. Those were fun treats to buy in bulk and give to them. One year we bought up a whole pallet of pumpkins and threw them out in the pasture. The goats went wild for them. Also they are a natural dewormer, so they are very healthy.

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 08:40 PM

oh? interesting. :0c

goats are kinda cute tbh.

Mekatra 11-11-2019 08:59 PM

They are the cutest. I really do love them. I wish I could have them again, but there are too many predators here for me to keep them without the constant threat of a bear or mountain lion eating them.

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 09:01 PM

cackles softly in the distance

ngl their pupils sort of scare me bc *nonstandard, ooo-ooo--oooohh.*

Kory 11-11-2019 09:03 PM

Goats are adorable :D
I like the baby ones that jump around

When I was a kid, my best friend and I found a nest of duck eggs and there was a dog nearby trying to get to the nest, so we took the eggs and hid them in my garage and the next day, brought them to her house where her mother kept them incubated and hatched them :)

Unfortunately, they didn't realize that the ducks were completely dependent, so when they "released them back into the wild" they all got eaten by the wild foxes D:

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 09:05 PM

i know that ducks can be kept as pets.

also, yeah, any duck that's raised in the home is likely going to be completely dependent on you.

Mekatra 11-11-2019 09:07 PM

Circle of life. Not always pleasant, but the foxes deserve food too.

I like their rectangle pupils. They are a bit creepy when you suddenly are eye to eye with one unexpectedly in the middle of the night though. Like we would be sitting in the barn waiting for an in labor goat to drop her kids and suddenly eyeball almost pressing up against yours.

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 09:08 PM

she probably wants privacy, mekatra. /j

Mekatra 11-11-2019 09:11 PM

I mean, that's all fine and dandy until one of the babies is coming out with a leg twisted or upside down and you have to adjust the baby or possibly lose both of them.

Or if the little one can't suckle and then you have dead kids.

Or if it is too cold and they can't get warm enough to get up and you have dead kids.

There are so many things that can go wrong. Childbirth is dangerous.

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 09:12 PM

yeah, that'll happen.

iirc, i think during the time where kit and tigs (my YTer bro's cats) were giving birth, they had a kitten that was either a stillbirth or was choking to death as a result of something being wrapped around its throat.

idk, i'd have to ask him, but i don't wanna bring up any bad memories for the man.

Mekatra 11-11-2019 09:19 PM

I don't think it is needed to ask. The exact cause of death doesn't enhance the story any.

Stabbsworth 11-11-2019 09:21 PM

mm. still, it's good for clarification.

i'm sort of glad we got all our cats neutered / sterilised. mum says it's bc she doesn't want whiskey spraying.

apparently bubble was supposed to have been done, but he did spray at one point, which... does sort of beg the question as to whether male cats can spray if they're neutered / spayed / sterilised.
