Alright, I'll be sure to find you when I do. :)

trystan830 12-30-2014 02:31 PM

yaaay!

(and i've gotten others to join the nano and write as well, too. heee....)

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 02:33 PM

Haha, writing is a pretty fun thing. I've been writing since I was eight, so that could for eight years going on 9 since I turn 17 in May? Haha, it's crazy I guess.

trystan830 12-30-2014 02:37 PM

it is fun, but i don't always write. i wrote my first story when i was 12, so i've been writing pretty much for 32 years! (i'm 44). my older daughter is 17, and she's been writing for a while as well... maybe since she was 8 or 10 or so?

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 02:42 PM

Haha, that's great! It's always good to start writing early if you're into it. I actually read a lot of books when I was little, so maybe that is why I have good grammar and punctuation. I'm also a speed reader because of it.

trystan830 12-30-2014 02:43 PM

i love to read too... and i read to both daughters when they were babies. they still like to read, but i think the younger one likes to read more, while the older one writes more. =)

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 02:47 PM

I can see that. As you get older most tend to want to do things for themselves, try it out and the such. What is it like being an adult? I mean I have a year left of being considered a "teen", so... Just curious. What is it like in the beginning?

trystan830 12-30-2014 02:52 PM

i'm probably not the one to ask about what it's like being an adult. i mean, i have a job (well, two, one mon-thurs, the other fri-sun) and i have to pay bills, but really i'm a big kid at heart. =)

my younger daughter tried doing NaNo, and while she did meet her Young NaNo goal, i think she kinda got bored with the whole writing process.

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 02:56 PM

Ah I see. I mean sometimes writing can get boring, especially when you're writing those filler chapters, or so I call them. After my senior year I'll be going off to college to become a computer programmer (major) and an digital artist (minor). So I have lots of work ahead of me but I don't mind it.

trystan830 12-30-2014 03:03 PM

a LOT of my NaNo writings are a lot of filler fluff-n-stuff, words thrown in for descriptions, even if it's redundant. i think the only NaNovel i've written that didn't need a ton of fluffy stuff was my first one. i totally knew what i was writing and where it was going.

i'm what NaNo writers call a "pantser" - i write "by the seat of my pants." the opposite would be a planner. i might plan the next section i want to write, or the general 'where my character needs to go'... but detailed planning is totally not my style.

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 03:24 PM

I enjoy planning things out, but most of the days I'm just too tired or busy with schoolwork to do so. So when I do get that time, I try my best to write down groups or strings of things that will happen or about the character development etc.

trystan830 12-30-2014 03:44 PM

that works too. i tend to come up with "groups or strings of things that will happen" (as you say) as i'm writing. sometimes i know a few events i want to happen, and maybe they have to happen in a certain order, so i'll write that down. most of the time, though, i just write. =)

if you're interested: (the thing to keep in mind is that for the most part i haven't looked at these since i finished them. i think Lost Angel was proofread, but that's the only one....)

2012: Lost Angel

2013: Watching Time

2014: Yours in Time, Jacks

i don't have Love on Rye (2011) in my google docs anymore though.

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 03:50 PM

Alright, I'll read them a little. Just give me a few hours.

trystan830 12-30-2014 03:54 PM

aww... you don't have to read them right now... =)

Madame-Aiko 12-30-2014 03:57 PM

Alright. :) Once I get caught up on art then perhaps.

trystan830 12-30-2014 04:03 PM

okie dokey then. =)
