do we earn for refferals?
 

some sites give you a referral banner or email invite etc and we earn stuff if people join. do we do that here?

In general, no. We've had a couple of events in the (distant) past where we did referral contests, and overall we just found that referrals really don't mean a whole lot.

all sites ive been to have some kind of referral rewad & increase in reward the more people refer/join through a banner link etc. this is the first place ive seen where there isn't any.

Both. We didn't get many referrals to begin with, and only a couple people actually stuck around for any period of time.

One noteworthy problem with referrals is that it's kinda unfair to people who just tell their friends to join. You don't have anyone left to invite when the contest starts.

It also makes the invitations look kinda like spam when it's incentivized like that.
