Riddle Me This- A philosopher's thread.
Greetings, all. Naturally, this is not only for the Philosophical at heart, or mind. It is for anyone who perhaps enjoys nonsense, and puzzles. For all of you who cherish literary games, and quizzical quotations. This, my friends, is the Riddle Room. It's small, dim, and a bit old fashioned, but you don't mind that, right? Here is a Haven for Riddle Master and Puzzle Solver, alike. You may post riddles, both self made and borrowed (but please give proper credit, no thieving some one elses mind-boggler), but this is also and equally a place to discuss them, if you so wish. And of course, Solve them. Once in a while, I may propose a contest, and whomever wins may receive prizes. But those will be far and few. This is not a contest, it's a way of life. Now, I'll start us out, shall I? Something simple... A 'What am I" riddle. "Old mother twitchet hat one eye, And a long tail that she let fly. And every time she went through a gap, She left a bit of her tail in the trap." Solve me! And have fun! :) |
Answer: A Needle and Thread. Come now, don't be shy! "Only one colour, but not one size. Stuck to the ground, yet easily flies. And most in the crown would stand, Where I, not a friend at hand." What am I..? |
Nice to know I would have gotten the first one right. :). Still pondering the second one though. last two lines are tripping me up a bit.
