reading in bed usually puts me right out. (for real!) |

Warm drink, stretch (not exercise, but to relax), low lights/glow (or no lights) |

Personally I find not having caffeine after 5pm and a warm milky drink just before bed helps. |

You can borrow some insurance policies. They usually put me to sleep. But in all seriousness, no caffeine after 4 for me and a warm shower at night, instead of in the morning. |
