Hmm mochi is delicious

Biomecha 02-24-2020 10:57 PM

I'd like to try mochi again, but I swear all the places that sold it seemed to have swapped it for the ice cream version.

mdom 02-24-2020 11:09 PM

It's the trend now |D

Tam I am 02-25-2020 07:42 PM

Someone was telling me about buying the non ice cream stuff. I hope to try mochi someday. I love rice.

Death by Mirrors 02-25-2020 07:55 PM

My local asia shop still sells the traditional version. Might have to try them before they switch to ice cream too.

mdom 02-25-2020 11:39 PM

Do it!!
My mom made fried mochi with soy sauce and sugar today
delicious

Death by Mirrors 02-26-2020 07:29 PM

Were they hard to make? As in, sticky dough or any other unpleasant surprises? I've been watching a baking show today and I'm in the mood for experiments.

Tam I am 02-26-2020 08:34 PM

It IS sticky dough, since it's mostly mashed rice. But it's not gross like mashed rice on the floor, which is THE worst thing to step on ever.

Mail me some? Fried sounds good, even plain.

daikokunyo 02-27-2020 02:31 AM

it's on my bucket list to someday taste mochi.
<3 i can tell i'll love them just looking at pics of them

Death by Mirrors 02-27-2020 10:48 AM

I don't know, I've stepped on worse things.

KittyBeary 02-28-2020 12:06 AM

Mochi is very delicious :3

Kaderin Triste 02-28-2020 12:19 AM

I have issue with some textures. Mochi is a texture that I just can't enjoy. I've tried it a few times, but just don't like it.

littl3chocobo 02-28-2020 12:57 AM

i love the texture of mochi<3 and chestnut mochi tastes so good that i cannot help but buy it in the autumn<3<3

Biomecha 02-28-2020 01:03 AM

I've probably had it without realizing it, some time or another. But I can't recall ever trying chestnuts now that you mention them.

littl3chocobo 02-28-2020 01:05 AM

;o; no chestnut mochi? that is like the best type of chestnut treat!

i recommend trying it, the stuff is available all year though the best stuff is fresh and therefore seasonal

Biomecha 02-28-2020 01:07 AM

I mean chestnuts in general. Have no idea what they taste like compared to other nuts.

littl3chocobo 02-28-2020 01:23 AM

um, warmer and meaty, almost fatty but not in a greasy way? like acorn if acorn wasn't astringent

Biomecha 02-28-2020 01:32 AM

Hmm, was considering trying them but my store isn't showing any in stock so hopefully they'll come around when in season. But they do have a lot of water chestnuts, which I strongly dislike.

KittyBeary 02-28-2020 01:57 AM

There are some foods I hate the texture of. Avocado is one of them. :(

At least poop washes off easily. And doesn't stick your sock to the floor.

it's bad enough that I have to pick up Maxwell's (family dog, for those who don't know) poop, 'cause even though I know what he's eating, it comes out the other end smelling very rank and icky.

littl3chocobo 02-29-2020 04:47 AM

if it smells that bad coming out it probably isn't very good going in. generally the really vile stuff means something isn't right

daikokunyo 02-29-2020 12:56 PM

i want to make a plushie fort but i don't have any plushies and also. how would i stack them when they're all different shapes

Stabbsworth 02-29-2020 05:04 PM

i hate the taste of nuts.

Biomecha 02-29-2020 06:18 PM

I'm quite fond of them. Can't keep nut butters around because they're too calorie dense and it's easy to overdo it.

Stabbsworth 02-29-2020 06:19 PM

nut butters are okay but peanut butters stick to the roof of your mouth. aeugghgghg

Duct tape? Though I've noticed they can stack pretty well just as they are. Just need perseverance and ingenuity.

KittyBeary 02-29-2020 11:03 PM

That reminds me I need more duct tape X3

Stabbsworth 03-02-2020 07:06 PM

nyehs quietly in the background

Tam I am 03-02-2020 10:35 PM

*puts Void in a duct tape prom gown. With pockets* (just because I don't think duct tape trousers'd work)

Stabbsworth 03-03-2020 09:47 AM

stares at you
gets out of the gown

Tam I am 03-03-2020 10:30 PM

**Tries a duct tape superhero cape*

Stabbsworth 03-04-2020 12:56 PM

saw semi playing with a little foil ball today.

bloody adorable. she kept rolling around like a ferret.

Tam I am 03-05-2020 01:29 AM

Awww. Is that a cat?

Stabbsworth 03-05-2020 11:24 AM

yeh. we have three of the little fuckers, and they're all little bastards.

Tam I am 03-05-2020 10:23 PM

Well, most cats don't get married.
