Good job, Derpy! Stay strong! Keep this thread safe!
XD

There will be no illicit book touching in here!
Lol

Death by Mirrors 02-17-2020 04:15 AM

All my books were of legal age.

daikokunyo 02-17-2020 09:04 AM

book ARE sexy;; can't deny that
the smell of books is the most potent pheromone

Death by Mirrors 02-17-2020 04:35 PM

Seriously now, I love the feel of books. The weight in my hand, the smell of paper, the sound of a page turning... it's a strange kind of magic.

completely agree with this!

daikokunyo 02-18-2020 07:37 AM

yeah, it feels like magic. when romcoms say 'it felt like magic'... in real life it applies to BOOKS

i like being able to riffle through a physical book

Derpy McBlueEyes 02-18-2020 02:05 PM

"I wanna wead too!" Derpy opens up a book and stares at the pages, trying to figure out what it says.

i actually like the smell of books, to be fair though i have a habit af very nearly touching them when i read sometimes hahaha, kind of hard not to under that circumstance

Merskelly Metalien 02-18-2020 04:37 PM

I used to hate the smell of some kid's books because to me they smelled like poop. >:/ and I was upset that the book smelled like poop because then the scent was distracting. I thought adults made poop-scented books to trick us into something like, reading in the bathroom or something.

But I loved the books that smelled old. :D There was this series of old fairy tale books with scratchy 3-D holographic covers. I miss those, but I don't think anyone else knows about them. <:/ I think I only read Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and maaayyybe The Snow Queen? <:/ *shrug*

littl3chocobo 02-18-2020 04:43 PM

books that smell like that tend to be the ones with a loooot of skin grease on them so probably there is at least a little muck on them, statistically anyway

Merskelly Metalien 02-18-2020 04:56 PM

/8[ huh. Even though it's brand new? Gross. X]

And OMG I f*cking found it! <x'D Look look!!
*shows book*

Death by Mirrors 02-18-2020 04:57 PM

Never encountered a book smelling like poop, but I know some indeed smelled odd. Must be the paper or maybe the glue, because a former classmate of mine had a binder with that very same smell.

Wow. Sketchy/spoopy and cute! We don't get interesting illustrations like that anymore.

Merskelly Metalien 02-19-2020 12:34 AM

O-O I think
I was the only kid
in my whole class
that liked stop-motion
and puppets
and never saw either as creepy somehow. <x'D
I even had a clown book!

Tam I am 02-19-2020 02:48 AM

...People think stop motion's creepy? And puppets?

Clowns... um. I don't mind pictures, but keep the real ones out of my face. LOL

Biomecha 02-19-2020 03:01 AM

If you like stop motion and puppets, Heather Henson's Handmade Puppet Dreams might be worth looking into if you can find a way to watch it.

daikokunyo 02-19-2020 05:07 AM

i see the word 'panthers' in there! seems like an interesting book you're reading Derpy!

I kind of thought that book was a fever dream...holy crap

Tam I am 02-19-2020 08:33 PM

I have a small collection of Canadian comic books. Comic critics say that most Canadian comic writers write real life type stories, but many of what I have are Space Opera and/or fantasy.

Mekatra 02-19-2020 10:00 PM

I've only just recentl began being able to collect comic books again. Not a ton of actual reading involved, but man the art is beautiful and the storylines are usually very compelling.

Panda 02-19-2020 11:02 PM

How's everyone doing today?

You're not alone there. <x'D
You're welcome for me helping you recall it's existence in this realm of reality.

Tam I am 02-20-2020 08:29 PM

I've had half memories like that. It's trippy. Nowadays though, I'm lucky if I remember why I just lifted my hand toward my face.
