Hearthstone

Is there anyone here that plays the latest creation to come from Blizzard?

What do you guys like/dislike about it?

I like that hearthstone is easy to play (not always easy to win) and can be picked up or put down quickly and easily ^_^ But I dislike some of the emotes and that they don't have a "hurry up" or "are you still there?" button XD Plus it is still a little buggy when there are lots of users on at once...

I play it, and it isn't bad but I like other games better.

It's a good games but majority is based on luck of draw

Like any CCG, this is only true if you discount the fact that the cards you can draw at all are under your complete control. The biggest part of the game's strategy is building a deck that can handle a few unlucky draws.

Yeah that is true... But physical cards are better bc the shuffling is more random

While I do prefer to play with real cards in general, shuffling isn't always that random in real life and cheating is much easier, unlike in this game...

I like that depending on the luck of the draw can determine the direction the game goes... ^_^;;

It's nice that it can be quite fast-paced depending on who you are playing and that ultimately it is down to your strategies with the cards you get ^_^

On the contrary! Shuffling physical cards is heavily biased on how the cards get ordered because of the way you hold the deck. Cards near the top tend to stay near the top, cards near the bottom tend to stay near the bottom. Of course there are ways to adjust for this bias, but that doesn't address cards sticking together.

A computer can result with any card in any position in the deck.

True, True, and the best part is you don't have to spend any money if you don't want to. It just gives a leg up in competitiveness.

Yep. Honestly, the only major benefit to paying money for anything has been the Naxxaramas wings, and you can still do that if you are patient or spend enough time playing straight to pull together the in-game currency to do it.

Tiva 11-07-2014 11:20 PM

Which I have only done the first and second wing of…..

But the lack of need to pay to play makes it a nice difference between Hearthstone and Blizzard's big claim to fame.

Played a little when it was in beta not touched it since but I can see it's appeal.

I play hearthstone a bunch, I love it. Previously, I was looking for a good online card game because I have lack of people to play with in RL unfortunately, and HS has been perfect. Beautiful art, the game mechanics are really great. The free to play aspect also makes it so much better, just do the dailies for a while and you are good to go. Really great method of doing things, 100% approve.
