Anyone still play your older game systems?

I keep seeing myself go back to my PS2 lol.
I do have a Ps3.. But I dunno lol.
I just cant get enough of the Ps2. The games are way better imo..

Anyone else agree?

I never bothered to get a PS3, too expensive and I enjoy the games on the PS2 a lot more. I have yet to see a title on the PS3 that has made me want to buy the system.

I still play my PS2 and Gameboy Advance. >u< ....mainly because it costs too much to upgrade. XD

PS2 hardly feels old to me. I still have an N64. My sister has it on loan though, since I hardly play it anymore. Was pondering digging out my PS2 to play tonight. I'm getting annoyed that some of the games I want, like Champions of Norath and the sequel are getting really hard to find. I know EB games is getting rid of all their PS2 stuff.

Serra Britt 05-03-2012 10:48 PM

I occasionally go back to the Gamecube to play stuff. I would play PS2 games also but that's a pain to move the systems around, it's actually easier to play PS1 since the PS3 is backwards compatible with them...and I would sometimes probably. I don't have a problem with "lesser graphics" as long as the game is fun.

I still own my Sega Genesis (megadrive in Europe) and play that regularly. it's still my favourite console by far. I own a Ps3, wii and a few of the modern handhelds but none of them come close.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-06-2012 03:15 AM

We gave our Sega and SNES to a friend of ours. They were working fine, it wasn't too long ago. I doubt I'll get anything other than what I already have for some time. I'm still looking for PS2 games and will probably dig up some PS1 games too. My sister gave me a copy of FFIX for christmas and a PS1 memory card so it will play. If anything, I might get a 3DS sometime in the far future when I actually have money. New computer would come before a new console. ;)

Ducky 05-06-2012 09:06 AM

I need to upgrade my PC before I think about buying any kind of console as well. I use my PC for about 90% of my gaming anyway. Consoles probably aren't worth the money to me.

still have my Psx, Ps1 and Ps2 lying around somewhere.

MeiMei 05-07-2012 09:11 PM

I end up playing my Ps2 when I get bored, sometimes my original Playstation. I'd play all of my other consoles if I could find them or if my parents hadn't gotten rid of them. >A<

Anyone have any idea on how to hook a Ps1 up to a full HD TV? o.O

Ishu 05-11-2012 11:14 PM

I agree ^^ I play loads of PSX games on my PS2. The gaming generation was much better than it is now. Everyone just tries to make as much money as possible without giving two shits about the quality of their games. Exhibit A: Square Enix.

I still buy PS2 games all the time.
And there are some that I am trying to get but
they are too expensive for me at the moment. But
I do play them. I love old school playstation
graphics more so than the newer graphics in games.
Like I want to reget some of the older Tales games
just to look at the graphics again. Of course the
games were fun as heck hehe.

I dont own a ps3... i have an xbox 360...

But to the topic of the thread yes i play my PS2 and Gamecube constantly for my favorite games that arent on other consoles... like Phantasy star online, kingdom hearts, and the previous ratchet and clank games (dont like the newer ones)

Addy 05-17-2012 09:41 PM

Man, I feel old seeing somebody referring to a PS2 as an "older" game system... :'D

I get what you mean, but oh wow, that was weird at first!

I still regularly play NES/SNES games, whenever I can at least. Though I don't have a working NES anymore and my SNES is technically my mom's... I have to rely on emulators or game collection discs.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-17-2012 11:26 PM

I still have my Game Boy Pocket and a Game Gear tucked away somewhere. I don't particularly miss the latter.

Serra Britt 05-18-2012 07:35 PM

@Ducky, do you only have HDMI ports? I think most HD TVs have a component input too, and you can use a PS3 cable to hook up a PS1 also.

@Addy, With the advances I've seen, just about everything before the current generation seems "old" but I've been gaming since Commodore 64 so...don't feel that old ;)
