2019 Reading Challenge
i set myself a reading challenge every year, which is to read more books than the previous year. 2017 was the first year i did this on Trisphee, (i had a great time! thanks Moonshadow!) and last year i had fun hosting... so here we are again!
so, (snagging from previous threads), set a challenge for yourself: read 50 books, read only the books you have at home that you haven't read yet, read a specific genre, read only non-fiction books... whatever you choose. Your first post should contain your challenge, and use a spoiler to indicate how you are progressing in meeting that challenge. i use a spoiler for my booklist. =) Please feel free to chat about books, your day, anything! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/03...g?v=1411837338 |

my reading challenge: in 2018, i read 37 books. my goal is to read more than that.... Goal Completed, and still going!
for my information: |
Hmmm...I did pretty abysmal last year. I think this year, my goal will be...only 15 books. *Was only gonna try for 12, one per month, but I actually have a lot of in progress books, so I should be able to maybe finish a couple of those off in a month.

I was hoping this would be here! I flaked out and forgot.
My challenge this year is to read (for challenge credit) only the books I already own! (Christmas presents count. ;)) For extra fun, I've wrapped them all so it's going to be something of a surprise which ones I end up reading and in what order. ~ Quiet's Book Challenge 2019 ~ "The Incomplete Bookshelf" [spoil]2018 holdouts: Vas - Tomasula January: Sword of Destiny - Sapkowski James and the Giant Peach - Dahl February: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH - O'Brien Fatty Legs - Joran-Fenton & Pokiak-Fenton The Prince and the Dressmaker - Wang Confessions of an Imaginary Friend - Cuevas March: Coraline - Gaiman Bunnicula Meets Edgar Allan Crow - Howe I work at a Public Library - Sheridan Cthulhu Tales - various Tom Gates: Dog Zombies Rule! off to a good start! i read I Work at a Public Library, by Gina Sheridan in a day! heh. fun little stories about library patron. most made me stare at the page and go "really??" at end though, i think my allergies were acting up, it was really dusty where i was reading it...
|
Really? I want to read that! I'm hoping to get some experience in a public library this semester.
|
heh, have fun!
here's an excerpt i posted on my instagram.... https://instagram.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.....fna.fbcdn.net yeah. |
Hee hee.
I like reading job stories. Some stuff can get a little odd, and people can be weird about anything. |
check out notalwaysright.com - highly entertaining, even if it does make you want to smash your head into the desk more than once....
|
I hate that expression. And it's always cited by the most irritating customers.
Will totally check it out! |
agreed - the customer is not always right.
|
>->; I should probably read more often..I didn't read a lot at all last year...
Can I join the reading challenge? :[ I have quite a few things I've not gotten around to reading and even got two books for Christmas. <x[ I've been neglecting the book book books. Like finishing Frankenstein finally, and re-reading a collection of short stories that I read a long time ago in Jr. High, and also getting around to reading the harry potter series in order this time... |
of course you can join, Merskelly!!
i'll link your post #15 up in post #2, so feel free to update that one with books read, plan to read, and whatever else you'd like. i'm post #4, if you want to see what i have. =) |
