Tea ;)

or coffee if you must *sigh.* :p.

There's already a chocolate thread so naturally I have to make a thread about the stuff that I live on. I'm a tea fiend, and it's pretty much all I drink besides water - kinda need that - and the *rare* glass of juice, wine, pop, or whatever passes for something other than tea.

For the past couple years I've had a tea party for my birthday and have even made a couple of converts out of people who never bother with the stuff. So I wonder what sort of other tea people are out there.

Are you a tea or coffee person? Where do you get it? Do you have a preference for type?

I'm a black tea nut but have everything, caffinated and herbal. I'm the person people dump their spares on when they don't know what else to do with it.

Coffee is something I usually only have on Sunday dinner when I'm visiting my family that live up north. I did venture a Starbucks cappuchino a couple months ago, seeing if it was anything like the one I had in Rome or if there's is just something magical about Italian coffee (of which I've only had one. Well, two counting the B&B).

I used to be anti-Starbucks but seeing as their prices in general reflect the extra cost of ethical growing and fair trade and such, I don't mind them so much anymore. :).

blackcurrant tea is my favourite

Quiet Man Cometh 06-20-2011 07:12 AM

I'm going to have to go looking through my piles, I'm not sure I have that one or not. Can't say I've tried it.

I like rosehip.

i find with flavoured tea, if you add just half a teaspoon of sugar to it it adds just that much more flavour

Quiet Man Cometh 06-20-2011 07:51 AM

I usually make a point of trying the tea plain at first, because I tend to add milk and sugar to everything, though I'm starting to curb that with some of the herbal teas and with green. Unfortunately, I tend to forget about my tea when I make it so it can sit for easily half an hour before I get to it. It doesn't work out well, usually.

Ashy 06-20-2011 07:58 AM

i like lukewarm tea though :P

Obbiesan 06-20-2011 07:59 AM

I used to drink a lot of tea but it was my old roommate who was the tea fiend, not me. Now I just drink a lot of water, and a little bit of milk. When I did drink it, I usually had green or white tea, since that was less bitter when accidentially overbrewed. I can't say what I liked the most... it's been a really long time since I seriously drank any. She did buy loose tea from Teavana though.

I never used to drink tea but I have started to recently. I usually get Twinnings because it as endorsed by Stephen Fry. <3 I still drink a lot of coffee, though. And water. Those are the main thing I drink. I'm trying to cut down on fizzy drinks because I like my teeth. D:

I've tasted coffee... there is not enough sugar in the world to make it palatable for me.
And all teas are too bitter except for earl gray and about 3 teaspoons of sugar ^_^ Now that's the right stuff

Quiet Man Cometh 06-20-2011 10:09 PM

Heh. I have about four different kinds of Earl Grey. My favourite it Russian Earl Grey which is a stronger blend I find. I have a Russian inspired mix from a tea store (house blend) that is black plus some sushong, which is very smokey tasting.

It's not that I'm worried about lukewarm tea Ashy, it's the bitterness on occasion. (I have a green tea that I pretty much need to hover over with a timer). My dad jokes that I'm tanning myself from the inside out with how strong I have my tea.

And Obbiesan, where I must ask, did you get that trenchcoat? :D

I suppose I count as a tea person. xD But, the closest thing I had to real tea was the green tea I got from the asian food store, and it was really gross. ): Maybe I was supposed to add stuff to it or something.

As far as coffee goes, I don't like the stuff people get up and make every day. I like the sweet things that taste like milkshakes. <3
