The Projector Lamp bit the dust...

So, I was about to go back to playing KHIII on the Playstation and suddenly our projector lamp just powered off with a click. ;-;
We've been ignoring the "Replace Lamp" notifications for nearly a full year I think, and at long last, the poor thing run it's course and died yesterday.

<n< So I had my brother help me take the projector down, and lift out the compartment underneath where the lamp was. :/ We gotta change the lamp, or get a new projector...not sure if getting a new projector would be better, or if getting a new lamp and replacing it would be better... <:/

Usually it's worth keeping what you've got if it only needs something that's meant to be user-replaceable.

Modern projectors ARE pretty nice, to be fair; they're brighter, don't need replacement bulbs, and don't generate so much heat. But I really can't advise spending the extra money on it if what you had was working well for you.

:/ Hmmm, yeah, it really was working fine. Nothing to really complain about except for the picture being a little lopsided, but that can easily be fixed with the stand attached to the ceiling so, nothing internally wrong with it, except for the lamp needing to be replaced. I think lamps for the particular projector model go for around $60 to $140.

depending on what's cheaper, i'd suggest a newer model.

:\ gonna need to find prices on Amazon later then..I think the lamp is cheaper tho.

mm. though, at the very least, it'll be decent for spare parts, y'know?

:] Indeed.
Found one on Amazon for around 30 bucks. ^u^ Sweet sauce!

Well now the projector keeps turning off automatically after starting up, despite the replacement lamp. B{ *tsk* We might need a new projector..
