2020 Reading Challenge

hi again!!!

i set myself a reading challenge every year, which is to read more books than the previous year. 2017 was the first year i did this on Trisphee, (i had a great time! thanks Moonshadow!) and in 2018 and 2019 i had fun hosting... so here we are again!

so, (snagging from previous threads), set a challenge for yourself: read 50 books, read only the books you have at home that you haven't read yet, read a specific genre, read only non-fiction books... whatever you choose.

Your first post should contain your challenge, and use a spoiler to indicate how you are progressing in meeting that challenge. i use a spoiler for my booklist. =)

Please feel free to chat about books, your day, anything!

Totes doing this again!

Kaderin's Reading List

Honestly, my goal is just to finish all the books that are still in progress from last year...
Maybe to read a couple others as well, we'll see.

trystan830 12-30-2019 02:07 PM

yaay! glad to see you again, kaderin!

Kaderin Triste 12-30-2019 02:16 PM

Haha
..I will always join and pretend to read!

Mekatra 12-30-2019 02:50 PM

I would like to read more books that are either by lgbt+ authors or have lgbt+ characters. Les say my goal is 20 for now.

trystan830 12-30-2019 03:04 PM

Kaderin - LOL! but isn't it fun to actually read every so often?

Mekatra - welcome again! i'll link your post #8 as your challenge post :)

It is nice to sit down and escape from reality in a book...
I don't read nearly as often as I should, but I'm hoping to change that soon. I'm also hoping to get a job at the public library, which I will be submitting my application for tomorrow.

trystan830 12-30-2019 03:11 PM

oooh... good luck on the job!

i worked at a branch of my county library yeeeeears ago... but it was great fun. :)

Kaderin Triste 12-30-2019 03:14 PM

From the job description, it sounds like basic front/reception desk stuff, but would be a great job I think. I'm a little hesitant about applying because I don't have any of the education and experience described in the job listing, but my one friend who works there says that doesn't matter because they hire the person not the education and are just looking for someone who is a good fit.

trystan830 12-30-2019 03:30 PM

you sound like a good fit from here! :)

Mekatra 12-30-2019 06:39 PM

Apply like you deserve it and convince them you'll be great without the requirements.

daikokunyo 12-31-2019 05:23 AM
