i write fanfiction sometimes. usually with minimal editing so that i can actually post it up regardless of how much i hate it.

it's actually done some good for being able to write slightly longer roleplay responses.

i used to write fanfic. then the voices stopped talking to me....

writing is quite nice. you can write descriptions of varying quality.

art is also nice. you can show thousands of stories within a picture of an eye, for instance.

very true about the art. but i can't art, so i write and crochet (crochet is a type of art, so i guess i can art that way.)

but there's also so many things you can do with writing, too. worldbuilding, for instance.

true! i did worldbuilding for last years NaNo, and this year's will be set in the same world. (hopefully. if i have enough ideas. still gotta post that on my insta...)

thing is, i'm utter fuckin shit at worldbuilding. i am, however, a master of bullshitting things.

i had a college professor who used to say "if you can't dazzle 'em with intelligence, baffle 'em with bullshit."

i'm oh-so-good at baffling. as are my daughters, too XD

bullshitting things is a pretty decent skill, especially when you can explain how your muse got somewhere with a very convoluted and ultimately potentially hilarious story for how your muse got to Egypt in the span of forty years.

i'm guessing you know that one from personal experience? =)

not really, no, but it's pretty fun to think about how the console in a game would factor into how someone gets around and what side effects it can cause.
