A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix)

So who has seen the show? What did you guys think in comparison to the movie and the books?

***ORGANIZE SPOILERS BY EPISODE***

Personally I love the show and the tongue and cheek comedy and the small amounts of 4th wall breaking that is going on.

Episode 7 & 8 Spoilers

They stayed pretty true to the books which I was happy book, I was having huge flashbacks to 4th grade when I read most of them.

I didn't get far into the 5th book, but I do know how the series ends.

I can't wait for season 2 whenever it happens.

It should be next year…. at least I hope it is. If they stick with the trend of Friday the 13th release it would be April or July 13th next year.

Oh god I just looked up the Friday the 13th's for 2019, September and December… I hope it is 2018.

Not gonna click spoiler bc im actually watching the show, but... OMG IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE THAT RELEASED YEARS AGO. Like they are doing everything right with the show and Neil Patrick Harris is amazing as Count Olaf.

What would you say the genre of the show is? Like, a comedy-horror-creepy thing? I'm trying to sell myself on watching it but I only read (some of) the first book.

Tragic Comedy? Dark Humor?

Cool, thanks! Sounds like something I'd like. I'm not doing anything this weekend so I'll probably binge-watch it.

hyjin 01-21-2017 01:27 AM

It kind of feels like ironic tragedy.

Panda 01-21-2017 01:40 AM

It's kinda weird that they are teaching us words. XD
I can't take this show serious, it's kinda funny but not really.

hyjin 01-21-2017 12:10 PM

Well the books were kind of the same way.

Tiva 01-21-2017 12:15 PM

Yeah, they did that in the books too. Correcting Grammar was a big thing in the books since they were trying to move you up a grade level or two in the reading scale.

Also Isis DOOOOO ITTTTT 8 hours of Binge Worthy TV. I did part of my Binge while cooking and I almost burnt dinner.

hyjin 01-21-2017 09:52 PM

BAD TIVA
