pokemon sword / shield discussion
figured now would be a good time to make a thread.
also there's a bug in the eshop version that will erase any data on your SD card should autosave be enabled. it doesn't seem to affect physical copies. i'm assuming something innocuous got changed and ended up fucking with the autosave system. |
If I had to take a guess, the autosave issue arises specifically because the game data and the save data are on the same device. At least the workaround is easy.

i've got news that it only occurs on crappier SD cards that aren't directly from nintendo, but ehhhhh.
|
I doubt it has anything to do with the SD card hardware itself, but it could be related to the software that formatted the card. FAT32 has support for having a backup copy of its filesystem data stored in a separate place on the storage device and it's supposed to automatically fall back to the backup copy if the primary one gets corrupted, but this can be disabled, so maybe that's the difference?

no idea. i don't do a lot of computer stuff, other than knowing how to defrag a hard drive.
apparently it's incompatibility stuff? shrugs. |
