Waking up this morning felt different. I dont know why but it just did.
The girl slowly rose from her bed and turned to her mirror. That dream i had last night... i swear I've had it before.. but this was the only time I ever remembered what happened. Not really focusing on much but the dream the girl got dressed for another day of school. The main thing she remembered was his face. She'd seen it before. she knew it. out of the corner of her eye or walking past her on the road. she just knew it. She shook her head clearing her thoughts. she had to focus on school not some silly dream or face. The girl grabbed her bag and ran down the stairs. "Mom I'm heading to school now!" She didn't care if she heard or not, she just walked out the door and headed to her car. As she made her way to school she swore she saw him again. but when she looked back he was gone. "I am just imagining things. I. Am. Not. Crazy." The school day was average and went along like it usually did. Nothing special about it. just as mundane as it usually was. She really didn't have many friends, she tended to be a loner, but people liked her well enough that she wasn't lonely. After school she was going to head to work but she had to drop the car off at her house. She liked walking to work because it gave her a little fresh air plus it was beautiful outside. Pulling into her driveway she honked the horn once to signal she was home and heading to work now. She grabbed her bag and got out of the car and started walking down the side walk. Thats when she saw him again. She wasn't imagining him this time. no... he was definitely there. "Hey! You!" She yelled after him picking up her pace. She needed to talk to him. She needed to know why he was so familiar. "Hey!!" |
It was true he had been following her, probably longer then she knew. Far longer then she knew. Though there were probably quite a few things she did not know about at the present time. Giving the situation there would be plenty to tell her. Just not here, no she needed to be as far away from this realm as possible. Though through the years this realm had served it's purpose of protecting her from the evil forces that wished to force her to do their will.
But that time had run out, normally he had been able to keep his distance even go about his own business. But that wasn't possible now, the other sides forces were starting to track her location and him and the others who were suppose to be watching her knew this. The once great lands and kingdom that she was suppose to rule when she grew of age were nearly gone. She was the last of her line at this point, the last one with the powers needed to even open the gates to the lands that her people once ruled over. Though today he had not planned to break any information over to her, he was biding his time as much as he could. Yeah the other realm was safer for her but there was no place truly safe for the young future ruler.. not at the present time. Though the thought he had in his mind was cut short as he heard someone speak to him suddenly. He had been going over how to even go about this little mission he was on to return her to her home realm, but that would have to wait. Spitting out certain words could trigger her memory yes, but at the same time it might cause more harm then good. This realm held no realm magic..it was just fantasies here. "Hrm?" He finally spoke up asking all at the same time as if saying what did she want or why was she bothering him. In this realm he hardly looked anything like his other self. Aside from a similar build and hair cut as well as other features. Though here his skin was a light tan color and hi hair was a blonde. Also here he didn't hold any of the scars his true form had, though that was more to keep himself under cover. Seeing as the one on the right side of his face was rather hard to get, let alone was noticeable. He wasn't sure if this was a good or bad thing that she had approached him or not, he'd have to weigh the situation before making up his mind on that answer. Maybe her memory was already coming back to her? It wasn't like she hadn't seen his face a thousand times, she wasn't always in this realm... Her life started in the other one. With her family and life being more then peaceful. Though back then he was a little younger. But at the same time her kind and his own were pretty much immortal, just elves tended to grow faster then the fae did. |
The young female came to a stop in front of him. He was definitely taller and it looked like he had lots of muscle. Why was she confronting him? She was just a weak teenager... but something inside made her. It's like her soul responded to him. His presence drew her in.
"Umm.. do we know each other? Because I swear I know you. You look... so familiar." She knew she should have been frightened by him. She should have turned around and ran away but it was too late now... she was right in front of him and she was no athlete. Why was she so impulsive?? She mentally shook her head and awaited the answer to her question. Hoping she wasn't crazy.. |
Maybe she was regaining some of her power, that wasn't a good sign really. It meant she would be easier to track for the other side as well in the future. Though he did need to answer her question at the least. He did have to admit he was rather impressed by such a bold question. Humans seemed to be rather ... what was the word. They tended to avoid contact now a days it seemed. With the advancement of electronics and everything becoming wireless so they call it. Most would never ask such a thing. Then again she wasn't human now was she.
Over all he was still rather slender looking, not like he was much into melee combat. But if it came to such things he did have the abilities to manage or defend himself. But that was only if it were needed. He needed to think on what to say to her at the present time, he knew there were a few of the other sides forces watching, it was almost funny at how easily they were detected. "Hrm.. it could be possible.." It wasn't a straight answer by any means but it was a answer. He shrugged a little before he started to walk away from her. "You should probably stay in well lit areas from now on.. you'll be safer there." Was the only words he offered to her as he started walking, probably leaving her more confused then before. Though it was a fair warning, she had more power then she knew in the light. Darkness held more dangers then any of these humans would ever begin to have fears about.. |
His words were.as mystifying as he was. What did he say about light? Why... she didn't understand."wait!" She called out desperately. She felt a hole grow inside her like without him she would be forever lonely."please come back..." her words were merely a whisper now and there was no way he could here her.. why did she feel like she needed him? It didn't make sense. He was such a mystery.. yet.. he was so very handsome. She blushed at that thought.. stupid Asami you can't think that way. You don't even know him. Even as she thought that she knew she was lying.
He probably wouldn't come back even if she begged. she sighed outlook and continued on her way to work. She felt so different now... empty? Just a little bit.. she felt like she was missing something. A very important something.. why did he have such an effect on her?? Normally she never noticed men this way.. her face flushed again.."Asami why do you have to do this to yourself??" She groaned. |
She had one thing right, he wouldn't have stopped no matter what she pleaded. He needed to wait till he could figure out what he was even going to tell her. To just out right say follow me or say your life is in danger might be pushing it. He had been forced to stay in this realm long enough to know very well how these beings reacted to such things. Let alone she was raised here for a long while now. The family she was placed in were probably among the few humans who even knew about the other realm.
If it did come down to it he would have to force her to go to the other realm, she had forces there willing to protect here. Here she didn't have much keeping her safe. Well aside from him, but that wasn't saying much. Even if others were sure he could do the job, he doubted how long he could hold out here. The forces wishing to take the girl and force her to do their will had more power in this realm then he did. He did need to watch himself though if she was starting to recall things. Her powers might start to cause problems... he needed to get her out of here before that happened. Also before the other forces decided it was time to make a move on her. But this thought was quickly stopped as he paused in his walk to glare over his shoulder. "Following me isn't a smart move.. " There was a shorter dark haired human following Alton. Though now the man smiled a little before holding his hands up. "We're just keeping a eye on you guardian... we're well aware of what you can do" This was hardly good news to him if he was being watched, means when he made his move he couldn't afford for her to refuse. the offer or to take more time then was needed. By this time Alton even bothered to notice what time it was. He must have been walking for most of the day. Though never going too far from where her location was, maybe just out of sigh from her. He had to watch his words seeing as this had ended up being near where the girl worked. "Tsk.. you better do more then that if I find you near her.." Alton growled his words a little before the other one laughed. "This chat is done for now. No need to test how strong you are here." The other being laughed again before taking a few steps back towards the shadows and vanishing from sight. Alton shook his head a little before mumbling a few words. "damn walkers.. " Though at the same time he needed to get away from here before the one he was suppose to be watching thought he was some stalker or worse. |
The girl sighed more as she entered the book store she worked at. It was okay sized and held so many shelves it looked like it could burst. she usually enjoyed the quiet afternoons here but tonight she couldn't get her mind off that stranger.
"I wonder if ill see him again..." "See who?" At first the girl was startled by the voice but soon recovered once she figured out it was her boss Mr. Mcmillian. He was a kind old man but could be grouchy. "Oh... no.one just my idle thoughts" she tried to.sound casual but knew she.must have been flustered because she felt the warmth of a blush trickle into her cheeks. "Well... you take the desk today I have a bit of sorting to.do right now." And with that he walked off leaving her standing alone. |
He figured he might have a few days at best to get her from this realm back to her home. But that was pushing it a little. He needed to keep a eye on her, even though he wanted to avoid staying close to her he couldn't afford to keep his normal distance either. It seemed the dark forces were ready to move at any time. They were waiting.. probably for them to make the first move.
Though from the little encounter from earlier he had to laugh a little. Truth of it was even if she didn't remember him from the other realm she probably had seen him a dozen times at least here. Just because he had to guard her didn't mean he never had time to himself. Books were a weakness of his, well here they were. In their own realm he was considered the scholar type. In the very store she worked at he had been going there over the years, though he did try to avoid it most of the times she was working. This didn't always go as planned... though in most cases he was just buying a book so it wasn't like he had talked to her aside from maybe at the check out. Though with a walker appearing he figured going in and 'looking' was a good cover-up for sticking close to her. In the event anything happened anyway. |
Not many people entered the store so the jingling of the bells always caught her by surprise though she hid it. By the time she looked up at the door the person who entered was already down the aisle they needed or wanted to be in. Usually she didn't care but today everything was different. After a moment she returned to reading the book she pulled off the shelf earlier and kept under the front desk.
She tried to concentrate on the book she was reading but everytime she focused her thoughts flowed to the stranger she met. She had to know him. Her heart reacted to him as if they were old friends.. just thinking about him made her heart quicken its pace. |
He hardly cared if she saw him enter the building or not. If she asked he could easily come up with some reason as to why he was there. Aside from that he was normally in the aisle that most didn't go down. Most of the books were history books, let alone a few weren't even in the common language of this area.
For the moment he was just flipping through a few of the books, though the one he seemed to be more entertained by was one that was written in or rather mostly written in ancient Egyptian. He was just taking up time by this point, he'd end up paying for the book before leaving and then going about his business of following her to ensure she got home without trouble. Though tomorrow .. he might have to try to talk her into leaving this place. Everything she knew... he knew what that was like to turn your back on everything you had grown up with. |
Stupid girl. pay attention. someone is in the shop. you have to pay attention.. The girl sat a little straighter and tried to look for the person who entered the shop but she couldnt see anyone. It was possible the person was holed up in a secluded place reading. that tended to happen a few times a day. There were so many rows. so many random nooks and crannies. Sometimes they would accidentally lock a person in the store over night because they 'just had to finish the book'. it amused her slightly when this happened.
She should probably do a once over. if someone else entered she would hear and return to the desk. She stood up slowly. If mr. mcmillian came out he would understand though she would probably get scolded for leaving her post. She also wanted to find another book to read because she was almost finished with the current one. She started strolling down random aisles looking for a sign of life or a good book to read. |
He should probably pay more attention, but truth of it was he had to sleep at times too. Not that he couldn't tell when she was in trouble or not due to his powers, but still. It was getting late and he had enough on his mind to give him a headache. Though translating this book was helping more then anyone would know. Though if anyone else saw the book they'd question why he wasn't in college or teaching some class as a professor.
It was a talent of his to pick up on languages and retain information, rather important information. Back home he was rather important to more then just this girl. Though this also meant he could be distracted at times. No one was perfect after all. Even though he should be keeping his attention to where she was at he wasn't that worried. She was within the same building, the walkers would be foolish to try something here. Any form of light made them weaker in the human's realm.. though this didn't stand true back home. |
She heard the quiet sounds of pages turning and followed it. Someone had holed themselves in the history section this time. She shook her head slowly. They just had to hide in the least used place because well no one would discover them. She was about to round the corner to where the person was hiding but her heart gave her that weird lurching sensation. She stopped midstep surprised by this feeling. Oh now what heart. She peeked around the corner andsaw him.
Oh Crap... how did he. Is is really stalking me? Is this some stupid trick?? Is this funny to him. Her face quickly flammed up again as she made a coughing noise. "Uh... hey... what.. what are you d.doing here?" She was a little scared now though her mind told her not to. She felt so torn between running away and running towards him. |
Well so much for keeping his mind distracted so it seemed. He never glanced at her as he shut the book and went scanning the shelf. "This is a book store is it not?" He questioned her, he had a point he was getting to after all. "So I'm doing exactly what I'm suppose to be doing in said building." He spoke once more plucking a book from the shelf that seemed to be in another language as well.
He hardly seemed concerned with her questioning him, not with what he had to do. He had half a mind to tell her to follow him or trust him now. Though something told him she was a little freaked out, though he couldn't blame her. If her powers and memories were starting to return then she had a right to be on edge at the least. |
She chuckled nervously not knowing whether to laugh or to just leave."forgive me if I am wrong... but are you stalking me?" Her eyes shot to the ground. How could she even say that. What would anyone want with her. She was just a regular person. Nothing special about her. At all."I'm sorry.. I really shouldn't have said that. I just see you everywhere now. Even my dreams but you looked a little different." She rubbed her hands together. She was nervous. Very very nervous. She felt like she was about to have a mental breakdown her head was throbbing as she remembered the dream. Something was wrong about it. It wasn't normal... people were strange colors and some were not even human.. the room spinned around her slightly.. why was she feeling so weird?
|
"No, this just happens to be the only book store in this town that keeps a wide variety of texts in stock... everywhere else you have to special order." He shrugged a little, it was the truth well most of it. Besides he wasn't stalking her. It was his job to follow her to ensure she was safe If she was back in their normal realm then there'd be others who would help with that as well. Though not all of them were considered to be at his rank.
That explains why she asked if they knew one another earlier. She was remembering her past, he wasn't sure that was a good thing. He sighed finally knowing he couldn't beat around this topic for forever. "So I see... " He seemed to pause at that and think on what he needed to do and if it was a better idea to leave her to her own for now. She'd have to be taken back one way or another so he'd have to confront her. Though telling her to trust him or to follow him might be pushing it, seeing as she was still nervous or freaked out from earlier. He needed to do it sooner or later though so it might as well be now. "If I told you to trust me would you do it?" That was about as odd and random as he could have gotten. He expected the answer of now, but this would allow him to plan what to do later. |
Still in a daze she barely heard what he said.."what... follow you... why? How could i trust you? We don't even know each other." She backed away a little. Why was Mr Mcmillian in the back room today of all days? Why couldn't he pick a better day to do whatever he was doing.
She looked at him again and felt that surge of knowing... no she couldn't. This was insane."just. Stay away okay? I won't trust you." She knew that was a lie but she just wanted him to leave. |
"I figured you'd say something along those lines." He shrugged a little. He hardly seemed concerned by it. Though something else caught his attention as he stopped in whatever else he was going to say as he all but turned his back to her as he shot a hand out in front of him. A odd shaped shadow seemed to creep forward towards them before stopped when it was noticed.
"Heh.. saw this coming as well.. " He muttered under his breath before the shadow rose from the floor and took the shape of the human from before that he had talked to. "Just hand her over to us.. you know you can't take us all on by yourself.. not here guardian.." The man before them laughed suddenly as he took a few steps forward. A few other shadows formed behind the man and then a few more in the other direction to block both of them in where they were. This was hardly good, if she thought she was crazy before she certainly did now. This was hardly good, back in their normal realm this little pawns wouldn't be as bold to try this stunt.. but here they ad a advantage. Fear of the dark fed their power here, and humans had a natural fear of the unknown that lurked in the dark. |
As the figures emerged the girl was stunned. What in the world was happening?? She was definitely crazy now. She knew it.100% insane."w.w.wha...what's going on??" She looked back and forth between the figure that spoke and the male."what's going on!" She was aboutbto have a melt down.
This had to be a prank."is this supposed to be funny?? Why are you doing this to.me!" |
In most cases he could just say nothing was wrong, though he wasn't too sure in this situation. But at the same time he couldn't afford to let they get a hold of her either. "I wish.." he muttered hearing the girl asking if this was a prank. He did wish it was one, but she had no idea what danger she was in at the present time.
He paused a moment before smirking at the one walking towards them still. "Wrong move.." He said before moving his hand in the air as a small trace of light seemed to form mere seconds after the movement. The figure in the air faded after turning a blood red in color. Alton took a few steps back before looking towards the now confused and probably terrified charge he had here before speaking. "forgive me." He didn't let her question it before he placed a hand on her shoulder and she instantly blacked out from his though. He merely needed her to be knocked out to prevent anything else from going wrong. The symbol that had faded did it's job as the leader of this little pack backed off growling a bit in his curses. "You can't protect her here guardian!" Was the last thing that he manged to get out before the two they sought after vanished from sight. About a few hours later whenever she started coming to she would find herself in her room. Only her mother was int he room as well as the 'stalker' as she had called him. Though this was only to see if he could get her to willingly come along, he already felt bad enough for knocking her out. Though to be fair he could have done it in a worse manner then he choose. |
Those two words were the last thing she heard before her world became darkness. She was swimming in a void. Nothing around her but darkness. And then she saw a light.
Her eyes fluttered open. She was in her bed. So it all was just a dream. She could almost dance. That was the most crazy dream she's ever had.. it almost seemed real... she sat up slowly at that time she noticed her mother and someone in the room.. wait. It's him."What are you doing here?!" She looked at her mother then back at him. What was going on?? She had to.find out the truth. |
He never said a word as she seemed to come to and instantly in the same breath question what he was doing here. Her mother or rather the human that had been taking care of her tried to talk her into calming down a few moments. After she seemed to settle again the woman sighed heavily before speaking to her. "He's here because without him you would.. well... we'er not sure what would have happened but the beings you saw before you were here were very real. They mean you harm." The woman looked down for a few moments, this was hard to have to give her up after all of these years.
"The man over there you were questioning is your guardian, he's been assigned to protect you from when you were a child... I know this is a lot to take in all at once but you have to believe me dear.." She waited to let the girl take in some of the information before going on. "Most of what you want to know can be explained once you are safe again, back where you really came from." The expression from the still confused and shocked girl was enough to tell the woman what she needed to know. "Your not from this realm.. all the stories of magic that humans tell children.. they are all true." Well mostly true some things weren't "Your not human.. but we don't have time to explain everything here. We've done our job to protect you and to be your parents over the years. Trying to give you as best of a life as we could.. but you have to go back to your real home. I know it seems like you've been followed by sir Alton over here.. but he was only doing it to ensure you stayed safe." She waited another moment to let the girl get out any words she had before going on a last little bit. "Please try to understand.. this was all to protect you, your already starting to remember your past. Your dreams from the sounds of it. Alton told me you mentioned one, if you stay here they will get worse and there will be no answers to be found here. But also the longer you remain here the more danger you put yourself in." Thats all the woman could say, it was a lot to take in at one time but it needed to be said. The girl needed to trust Alton and thats all there was to it. It wasn't done to hurt her or to make her more confused, but there was no way to avoid it. The woman knew the girl better then anyone and she needed to be told. |
The girl sat in stunned silence while her mother or the woman she thought was her mother talked to her. What was going on. Her world was being turned upside down. Was her life just a lie? Did everyone know except her. Anger built inside her. This was her life, did she not get a say?
Once her mother finished the girl was still shocked by what she said. She dint want to leave. She had a perfectly normal life that she did not want to give up. Her eyes shifted to the stranger...what was his name... arron.. no. Alton that was it. Once her eyes focused on him she felt that now familiar pull towards him. "So... I'm in danger?" She spoke each word slowly as if trying to digest it all."and... he's my... protector? How long has he been my protector? Her eyes narrowed slightly. She still didn't believe any of this nonsense |
The woman looked over to Alton for a second before speaking again. "Since you were born... He's only a few years older then you are." That was probably hard to believe, here he looked at least 5 years older then she was. "I know you probably don't believe any of this but it is true.. it wasn't done to hurt you. This was all done to keep you safe till you were old enough to understand all of this."
Alton figured there was a bit of information the woman had left out as he decided to speak up. "You were removed from the fae realm because there was a war that broke out. The sides were destroying one another and to keep you there was asking for you to be killed." The choice was up to her now if she trusted all of this or not. |
Her eyes widened a bit at this next bit of information. Ah this has to be a big joke She knew it had to be. She burst out laughing. After she regained herself she started to speak "okay guys i get it. you are pulling some big prank on me." She started to get out of her bed. "Okay so jokes over with. What time is it? Do i have to go to school soon or something?" She had no clue how long she was out for. "And what happened at work. did someone tell mr. mcmillian or did i leave at the right time. i cant really remember"
|
He knew this was hardly going to be easy, why was he tasked with this again? "think what you want, it's very real. As far as your boss is concerned ... the issue we ran into there was dealt with and the humans there will be none the wiser." Meaning over all he had dealt with her boss.. more or less he wouldn't remember she was suppose to be working there at all. He wasn't about to tell her that but it had to be done because she wasn't staying here much longer anyway. Though at the rate things were going he'd be forced to drag her back.
The woman shook her head a little. "It's no prank.. me and your father.. well adopted parents rather. We knew you'd have to go back someday. Your not human as I said.. and as much as you'd like to think this will all go away it won't." she looked down knowing it hurt to say the next words, she was their daughter as far as she was concerned. "You can't stay here.. at least not right now. You .. you'll always have a home here though, when things settle down again." Maybe she could come back then, though the woman doubted it. |
All this information was making her dizzy. her life wasnt really her life?? what.... "So you mean.. i have to go with this complete stranger.. MOM what if he tries to take advantage of me or something? Arent you supposed to be protective of me and not let that sort of thing happen? i mean how well do you even know this stranger?!" She grabbed her favorite teddy bear and hugged it to her chest. She was so afraid now. Everything was wrong. so wrong. her life was changing and she couldnt stop it.
|
He made a bit of a face at her comment of taking advantage of her. "Oh please, I rather like living. If I thought about touching you they'd have my damn head!" He was almost offended she even went to that thought. Hell he had been trained to do nothing but protect her with his life and that as her first thought? Maybe this was a mistake and he should have waited till something really happened before bringing any of this up.
The woman smiled weakly at her, she didn't expect this to go over well, though that was a bit funny to her. "His only purpose is to ensure you survive. I promise he's not that type, f it came to it his life is forfeit if it means saving you." Though she probably didn't understand that either, humans didn't think in such manners unless it were about a fairy tale story. "Like I said he's been watching over you from the day you were born, though back then he was still in training. When you were sent here he had to follow you to make sure nothing really did happen to you in this realm.." She looked down a little thinking about it. "I'm not asking you to trust him but I know there's a bond between you two, even if you don;'t want to admit it... but I am asking that you trust me. I can't do anything further to protect you here." |
her mouth made a small o shape. She hugged the bear tighter. "but... mother... i dont know... what.. what will i do? im not used to being on the run. i wouldnt know the first thing to do...." She looked around her room. "What would i bring? how would i carry it.." She looked down at her teddy. "I dont want to loose the things i love most... i dont want to loose you... or dad..." Tears formed in her eyes and slowly slid down her face. "why should i be protected anyways... im nothing special"
|
The woman smiled before moving to sit on the bed next to her and hugged Asami close. "Everything will work out I promise.. your father and I both will be fine." He smiled again trying to reassure the girl that she was telling the truth. "After things calm down you can come back if you want, just right now i's not safe here anymore. Back where you are from you have more allies, Alton can't protect you against a army by himself." Though he was bold enough to try that was certain.
The woman started to say she was hardly nothing special, but she didn't get the chance to. "Your hardly 'nothing special' as you put it... your the next heir to the throne in the fae realm. There's more to it then that but that's not part of my job description..." He muttered a little under his breath after that. "Being called a stalker and a pervert in the same damn day.." |
The girls face reddened more. "what do you mean?? im a.. princess? really.." She never imagined herself to be anything like that. She grew up wanting to be a normal person and have an average life. She sighed again. "but why.. i just dont understand why me...? And sorry about accusing you.. it jsut seemed that way." Her heart sped up slightly thinking about things she shouldnt have and her face darkened a little more. Why was she so attracted to him? Shes never been attracted to anyone in her life. She always assumed she would never fall in love. She would probably marry someone who was as average as her.. but now her life was upside down... She was a princess or something... "I dont know.. I still dont believe this..."
|
"Yes that would be one way to word it yes, and why? Because you were born that way. Now stop acting like your worlds ending" Ok he was a little harsh but he really didn't have time to explain everything she probably wanted to know or didn't understand to her here. He waved off her saying sorry, he had been called worse in his life. Though it was a bit insulting that his own ward would call him r say such things.
If he knew half of what she thought about him he'd tell her to knock it off. He had his fate already and that was to die protecting her, love was not in that description. Though that hardly made him heartless at the same time, of course he cared about her. He had to. "Well think what you will it's true and we don't have the luxury of time at the moment." |
She ignored the harsh words he spoke first and simply responded to the last part "What.. do we have to leave... now??" She looked towards her mother. "mom...." She didnt want to leave. but she knew in her heart she had to. "Ok. What do i need to pack?" The change in her entire self was strange and she knew they thought it to but she had to be serious. She felt that they were telling the truth and before she simply denied it because she didnt want it to be true.

"Yes now... before we have a horde of walkers on our heads would be most preferred." He wasn't trying to rush her but they didn't have the time to just stay here. It would put her 'parents' in danger, let alone her own safety. Though it seemed he wouldn't have to force her to come with him, she seemed to understand finally that this was urgent. Such space would be outside in her 'parents' back yard to prevent any questioning of what was going on.
"Whatever you want to pack, just do it quickly." He spoke up before walking out of the room. He had a few things he needed to prepare if she was ready. The portal took time... and space. The woman smiled at Asami before hugging her again. "Everything will be ok.. your not alone or please don't feel like we are abandoning you." She knew they would probably never see one another again, but still he wanted to hope she was wrong. |
She nodded towards the man before he left the room. After hugging her mom again she grabbed one of her larger backpacks and dumped out the contents. She shuffled about her room gathering the necessities. extra clothes, a brush, hair bands, a small but warm blanket, her teddy bear, wallet(who knows maybe they might return to the human realm and need cash), a small pillow.. soon the pack was almost full. She grabbed her shoulder bad(she wanted to have another bag that was small to carry stuff with) and dumped out its contents as well. She kept her makeup(she just needed eyeliner), a small mirror, a note book and a few pencils and pens. She ran downstairs to the kitchen. She started to look for things that would keep for a while. She grabbed a few water bottles, a bag of chips, crackers, a couple packs of sealed deli meat, a box of cookies and a few other things. "Wow.. im packing a lot.. i hope i packed the right things... i just dont know exactly what ill need.."

She shrugged a little, she wasn't sure what to tell her either. "I'm not sure.. I mean he did say whatever you wanted." He laughed weakly as Asami finished packing whatever she wanted. "If your ready I think we better go find Alton.." She waited for Asami looked around her room another time before grabbing the bags and helping her with them. After a few moments she walked outside like she was instructed to do long ago in the case they ever did have to send her back through the means of a portal.
Once herself and Asami were outside she paused a moment noticing that Alton seemed a little stressed, though he probably had a lot more on his mind then he was letting be known. "how many years has it been?" She finally asked as he seemed to finish with summoning a small shimmering portal that seemed to not even be real, even standing here looking at it most would think it was some cg effect for a movie. "ten years? Maybe a few more then that, eh." He shrugged a little, what did he care about how many years he had been gone from the other realm. Not like he had a family to go back to, that was part of being a guardian. Most of them had no ties at all. |
Asami nodded at her mother and followed her outside. The girl stared at the portal "Its... beautiful..." she barely payed any attention to the conversation her mother and the man were having. She felt something deep within her calling out to the portal.. She had to go through it... Her eyes moved to alton "So... how do we.. do this?"

"Right magic isn't common here.." He sighed a little, he wouldn't miss having to hide anything he did that was certain. "Just walk through it, I promise it won't be like the movies where there's a chance you'll be in parts on the other side." Noticing the look he got from that he shrugged a little. "What? If I wanted to kill someone I could think of some way to do so without wasting the energy it takes to call forth a portal."
The woman Asami had been calling mom all this time walked over to him with a bit of a stern look. "You better do your job.. so help me the realms won't save you if something-" He topped her before she could go on with this. "If something happens to her I ensure you I'll be dead already." The way he talked about it he seemed to not be bothered with the thought in the least. He probably wasn't... thats what he knew and was trained to do so why second guess it. "Well princesses first.. nothing too threatening should be on the other side." It should put them out in a fairly safe location really, not too far from where they had left all of those years ago. It was a hidden location and well guarded. Aside from that only certain people could even make a portal linked to that location. |
