☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ AIDS Aids is the natural hell that breezes through autumn and other season, cherokee, princess' women, and men glow in the moment of truth that has you walking down a red street and you are denying the feeling to kill yourself. People tell you 'I love you', and you always hear love and romance keep you alive, but you never think to caution yourself every month and day to check your blood supply and listen to infection prevention AIDS!!!! Note: This poem was written using words from magazines that I cut out and pasted to paper. It was one of my best poems loved by alot of people who read it. My teacher for class that I wrote this for was proud of me for doing this poem. It even got published in a magazine. ☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ Tears I have no shed a tear for many days now out of love. FOr I did now. Several. Shed for the love of my children. Sorry for things I've done to them. For things I've said to them. A good shed of a tear causes love Ease and calm for a many and Always will, for a tear shed means So much more than anyone would ever believe. A tear shed is a sign for care, a sign for heart, And sign for everything the world has to offer A tear- romantic. Tears- meaningful and romantic. The weather grows cold, The wind is nippy, the air Is bitter and harsh. The clouds up above perform A miracle. Snow. The snow falls covering Everything that is out In the open. The trees, bushes, homes, Grasses, everything looks Like the most beautiful And untouched powder Sugar in the world! To climb up. Out of this whole. So black, pitch black. Unable to see your own hands. But.. But then suddendly, out of no where, a light. A light can be seen. Faintly. But growing brighter, with every passing second. Until you have to shield your face, from the brightness. A sign of hope, of luck. Your struggle is over. Your hard efforts all paid off. Note: I wrote this because I was inspired by Nikki Sixx's attempt at kicking his drug habit. I was reading his book and this just started to come to me. ☲ ☲ ☲ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ |
☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ☲ ☲ ☲ ☲ I have a few hundred poems total. I have about 100 Titanic poems. Yes I wrote that much about the Titanic. I was inspired to write about her from reading books on the ship. I read a few books actually and I just wanted to pay tribute to her someway and that way was writing poetry about her and her passengers. I have many more poems ranging in subjects. I have a series of poems on the planets, all of them, including Pluto before it stopped being a planet and the solar system. I've over a hundred poems written so far as well, though certainly not on one topic. Do you write poetry often? Two poem in particular, Rain and Leaves of Changing, are interesting to me because they are both on topics I've written about myself but from a different perspective. I'm fascinated to see different people's impressiosn of similar environments or events. |

I have a really bad case of writers block that won't go away no matter what. I can only write when I am inspired by something and I haven't been inspired for so long that at first it was about 10yrs went by before I wrote again >.>; Writing used to be a huge part of me, but now it's just a memory. The effort does need to be put in to keep going again sometimes. I keep journals and it can be easy to fall off in updating, esepcially when I remember how much I haven't written but I just need to make myself pick it up again and write something and it comes back fairly quickly.

Maybe don't worry about stuff not being as good. You don't necessarily need to show it to anyone, and it's always open for re-write. The poem I wrote on rain I rewrote years later and now it's a collection of three, since I rewrote it again. ;). Some of my stuff is poor, I can recognise that, but I figure it's still worth keeping around. (Of course, this isn't to say I'm faring all that well with my writing now, but I'm trying, or remembering to try ;)).

I wished I could go back and rewrite some of my poems or at least finish the ones that I lost concentration on in the middle of. But I just can't, to me when I finish a poem it's done forever and there is no need to continue work on it anymore. I might go back and try to finish the ones I stopped on half way through though, those I can at least give a decent try on. Don't want them to be ignored. There's a few of those actually. The only thing that I was ever able to work on again was my actual first try on a book. I did 7 drafts of that thing before I just said one day, 7 is more than enough I won't be able to make this book any longer so I stopped. It's about 30-50 pages long and it's a fictional ghost story. I wanted to write a book since my dream growing up was becoming a writer so I worked on it 14 years ago and I finally put it away 2 years ago. So yes, I spent 12 yrs working on a book that didn't get that far. ; ; But it does have a complete ending and it is well written. You don't lose anytime in the storyline at all. I just wasn't able to figure out more to add to the middle to extend it some. ╚═════════════════════════════════╝ |
Doesn't really sound like it needed to be extended. I've made several failed attempts at novel writing and finally had to admit that short stories are more my thing, as much as I'd like to be able to write a full fledged novel, but there's no sense in forcing in superfluous info where it's not needed, short or no.

I do write short stories as well. I even wrote a small book about the enviroment with poems going along with each subject on the enviroment. I can post the book if you would like to read it. I'd say it depends if you want to share, though I can't guarantee I, myself, will read it given I'm fickle with online reading. Other people might be interested though. I will say however, that for publishing purposes if you intend to pursue it, things posted in public forums (visible without membership) get axed from a lot of magazines and since it's consider by many to be self-publishing. Just a small caveat there. :)

There's a trick that I've heard called 'the poor man's copyright.' Though you apparently have copyright of anything you write, proving it is yours if used is always the issue. One trick people use it to mail a piece of writing to themself, making a note on the envelope of what is it for reference, and then leaving the envelope unopened. The date on the post mark can establish when a piece was already existing.
