i forget...how old am I??

I thought it was funny because today i woke up and i actually
got confused how old I was. If i was 27 or 28.

27 just didn't sound right to me at all so i assumed for most of the day i was already 28 even tho
I won't be 28 until mid December.:f-squee:

Juneberry 04-02-2022 11:13 PM

That happens to me a lot. I just turned 30 a week or so ago, though, so the fact I keep saying I'm 29 on accident sort of makes sense. I'm just not used to it. xD

MoodyB 04-02-2022 11:20 PM

lolol it's never happened before normally i remember.
But i think since on my 27th b-day i told myself i would no longer
be celebrating it, my brain just decided to forget that whole day.

It takes a while to get used to a new age lol.

Juneberry 04-03-2022 08:17 AM

I promise you, forgetting your age is nothing. I once forgot my own name. I was in 7th grade and started signing my papers for school with my internet handle because I couldn't remember my own dang name (which is extra sad because it's the most common name for girls my age).

Also, my poor friend... We were in the same class every year of middle school, and I'd ask her every hour what day it was. Every. Hour.

Espy 04-03-2022 12:38 PM

Occasionally I forget my given name. Whoops.

Juneberry 04-03-2022 01:26 PM

Yay, it's not just me!

Kaderin Triste 04-04-2022 08:08 AM

I can't say I've forgotten my name, but I definitely have misremembered my age a few times.

I blame the fact that I generally don't bother making a big deal about my birthday so it's easy to forget that another year has passed in relation to the day I was born. XD

Juneberry 04-04-2022 09:51 AM

My family always makes a big deal out of birthdays. It's not like we have parties or anything, but my dad *still* feels guilty he couldn't give me a birthday card this year. He did, however, tell me many times how happy it was as a day. xD

But considering that and the fact that I just turned 30...

What's my excuse for still thinking I'm 29 half the week? xD

Kaderin Triste 04-04-2022 10:18 AM

I'm a bit jealous. Forget family, I'm lucky to get even a single birthday text from a friend. Typically I don't even bother taking the day off of work.
Though I do make a bit of a bigger deal for er...well it's a bit hard to explain, but my dragon baby, Derpy's birthday.

Juneberry 04-04-2022 11:45 AM

Everyone is different. Some people don't like their birthday to be celebrated. I have had friends get mad at me for sending them a happy birthday message because they don't want to remember they're aging. o.o And I kind of get that. I sometimes think I forget my age on purpose because I don't like that I'm getting older. Life seems long when you're a kid, but as you step into adulthood, it suddenly feels so short!

MoodyB 04-05-2022 02:17 AM

its impossible to forget my name
mostly because it's so often misspelled, and mispronounced
and i have to constantly correct people.

Juneberry 04-05-2022 05:31 AM

My first name is the most common name for girls my age, so the fact that I forgot it for a(n albeit short) number of days is kind of scary. Though not as scary as that time I didn't recognize myself in the mirror and thought there was a stranger in my hotel bathroom. I was very stressed at that point though.

I plan to eventually change my first name to my pen name's first name myself. I use it everywhere (when Juneberry isn't available, or just as a note as my name) and even my dad calls me by it half the time.

MoodyB 04-05-2022 09:23 PM

My name is pretty average but most people pronounced it as Michael with an A.
Which is not right. But most say it that way because my name does not have a Y
which is the normal spelling of my name.
so people will spell it with a c or a y and it's not correct at all lol.
So i just go by Kaela. tho wish my name had a y so Kayla could look nicer LOL

I'm literally turning 24 next month and even my wife thought that sounded wrong but lo and behold 98-22 = 24 xD

Stabbsworth 06-16-2022 09:04 PM

i forget this frequently. it's strange to know that i'll be twenty in around a month and a half. i still feel like i haven't grown any since i was about sixteen. then again, i'm also very socially stunted!

Coda 06-17-2022 01:15 PM

On the flip side of things, I'm 40 and very tired.

Den 06-17-2022 08:20 PM

literally the only reason I know how old Dad is is because he's 30.5 years older than me. which means Mom's 28 years older, because they've got two years between them.

Lolol when your partner or anyone even forgets how old you are, you just get even more confused.
Happy early b-day!

I'll be 28 in December and i still look like i haven't aged since i was 16. XDD and my life has kinda stood still since i was 14 with a lot of personal trauma so i still do not quite feel like an adult.

Dalhanahue 08-23-2022 02:02 PM

I forget my age quite often and have to do the math real quick just to double check myself. I don't know why my brain just doesn't care to keep track definitively.

Chloe 08-26-2022 02:36 AM

I end up forgetting quite a bit, lol.. be doing an application or something and asks my age.. and it's like.. brain fart.. oh my god.. what's my age.. I know its in the 30s.. o:

and it's sitting there, trying to be calm while all awhile, your screaming at yourself for forgetting how old you are.

I do this with my cat as well. We know she's either 5 or 6 since we got her in Sept, 2017 and she was 4 months old but one thing says she's shares my date of birth and another says June 2nd.. she acts like she's a kitten so maybe she knows where the fountain of youth is..
