Hey everybody!

Soooooo sometimes in between making stuff, I want a side project. I would rather make items that users actually want than items I want!

I make no promises that I'll make what you request but I will def. look at and consider all requests. You can post references if you want or just say things like, "I would like a cape that looks like a piece of lettuce." That is just fine for me. I am certain that other pixel artists besides myself will pop their heads in here too. ^.^

items like the ramune bottle or the kitsune that are positioned right on the avatar so you can dress them up like a proper avi! it'd make a great item for people who like the dressup part of avatars but are not big into humans XD

I would like to see some firearms. We have like, two that I know of. Desert Nomad and...something else, which is just a sawed-off double barrel shotgun. I would love to see a little snub nose revolver or handgun or something of the like!

100% serious here, how about some non-white facial features and hair? we don't have either and that is pretty darn creepy especially on a site that is purportedly catering to rpers(i mean jeez, how much does it suck you can only dress up as a euro-white person?)

Like more noses and stuff? At first I was thinking "what do you mean we have plenty of hair colors." XD

Right now I just want more tattoos that are more thick and less translucent (low opacity).

Tattoos are amazing for adding details to clothing.

I think the general idea is that you can layer multiple copies of a translucent item if you want it to be bolder.

Because I know about the layering effects with clothing. I use it a lot myself. :P

Most of the time when we do get tattoos close like that, they're in DI's or event items where the colors are limited to a select amount of colors.

yeah, different noses, different eyes, different mouths, hair that is not staright or wavy-straight(like kinky or puffy or curly)

anything that would give the impression of non-white ethnicity. i was talking to a friend(who'd like to remain unnamed) and we agreed there was a reason neither of us enjoyed using the faces and hairs that were already on here because they were all variants of the exact same face/hair

Thick hair, thin hair, puffy, ect. I know what you mean. I agree entirely, just most hairs like that are harder to make, so if a pixelist wants to challenge themselves hair-wise this is a great route to go!

Oh and you have my vote for more noses and mouths, we could use more of those, there is actually an extreme lack of different nose and mouths in general. (Ear department too, but making new human ears don't make much of a difference considering the size of avatar ears.)

@Illusion: ah see now we're talking, I have been wanting to make flying bird tattoos if we don't have them already that start at the hip and then go up the chest ((I don't know if i ever will but i think about it from time to time xD)) But I love tattoos so that would be a fun project ouo

The cool part about tattoos is that most of them can easily be moved around to other parts of the body. So the little birds can be moved to the face, forehead, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, hands, ect.

Or would that be overkill? xD

in all seriousness though, i would /love/ to even be able to just make an avatar that bears even the slightest resemblance to myself or my ocs

if it'd get made i could probably do the facial features myself and give them to galla XD they can watch me fuck up the bases trying to make faces

We also don't have a lot of choices in eyebrows as well.

It was really hard to search for a reference without running into pictures of that disgustingly pretty white guy from Glee. His hair is a goddamn travesty.

What kinds of non-white hairstyles are we talking about here? I'm searching for more ethnic hair, but all I'm running into is straight hair in varying styles and colors.

The only kind of hair in the real world that can be called "ethnic" is tight, small curls (though the actual hairdo can be very very short on one extreme to a full afro on the other extreme), because that's created by the oval cross-section of African hair compared to the round cross-section of European and Asian hair. Everything else is the result of technique or product.

That said, cornrows, fine braids, and dreadlocks are often considered "ethnic" due to being convenient if you HAVE said oval cross-section hair. (Cornrows and fine braids because they keep those curls under control, dreadlocks because that kind of hair will assume them without a whole lot of maintenance -- dreadlocks in round cross-section hair are as hard to maintain as any other hairstyle.)

Those small, tight curls also result in hair with small but dramatic waves (which require a heated crimper to accomplish in round cross-section hair) when long and brushed out, and short-to-medium size afros with more well-defined curls instead of the stereotypical combed-out frizzy poof are popular among women.

Possible but it'd be... rather hard to find clothes for. :P That said, there was a fad for a while that imitated a pregnant belly with clever clothing outlining. Not Buddha-like, though.

actually there are indo-ethnic hairs too that are kinked or curled and while it is considered 'white' hair irish hair is also ethnic and it comes in both curls and kind(i have some irish in me and am a throwback, i had tight chinked curls that corkscrewed when allowed to dry naturally after a vigorous brushing. ethnic is not black-exclusive. that is a misnomer. ethnic is non-gentrified natural features that have a distinct location/birthright attached such as swedish blonde hair and indian chins


of course contextually i personally using ethnic to mean 'non-anime white person' an omission of tiny noses and obtuse oval eyes and thin lips/ half-mouths

Coda knows a lot about a lot of things. XD I am a font of knowledge, gathered from lots of reading and chatting with lots of people.

Most of what I know with regards to ethnic hair derives from a conversation I overheard complaining about a white girl with dreadlocks. If you ask me, there's nothing wrong with that, but there's a vocal population of people who overlook the fact that if you live in America your entire society is imported from other cultures and so say that it's wrong to do things that "belong" to other cultures.

No, I'm not bitter about artificially-segregated social roles at all. Not a bit. Nope.

EDIT: Choco raises a good point, that gene is also present in Irish hair, although I'm not wrong in saying that it's still caused by the same effect and that it originated in Africa. :P My point was going the other direction -- what people call "ethnic" hair has that nature.

No one in any of the threads I frequent still uses it. :P We hang out in different circles.

ACTUALLY -uses nasal tone- it is a genetic quirk and heralds back(in part) to neanderthals. that hair type is super old and a combination of two distinct species of hominid X'D gaelic genetics were interesting to me since i was a huge fan of ancient greece and everyone knows about the illiad's issues X''D

it's possible and popular in pixels but i don't know about tooled which is what trisphee does

You'd imitate it with a varied, not-completely-opaque texture -- give it some highlights and shadows to hint at the lines where it's all curling in the same direction. I could pull it off if I took some time to do it; I'm a competent pixelist, just an awful artist. Give me the shapes already put down in the right place and I can shade and texture. Main reason I don't do more of it is that I'm REALLY slow, and I hard-pixel so my style doesn't fit in with Trisphee's very well.

actually no. neanderthals were very far north and persons with african-decended genetics have 0 neanderthal dna in them, asian-decended genetics are also in the slim-to-none department

neanderthals were a different species of animal than humans(though not too much that we could not breed). in fact it is speculated that part of how they went to extinction so fast is that they bred into the human population and bred themselves out. to be fair though they were a dying species anyway XD their size and calorie needs were too excessive


well, i can do legit pixels so if you wanted i could give you flats, outlines, and basic shading if you want to smooth them out though they would look more like call of glory
