What Was The First Game (DS) That You Ever Had?

Mine was Zelda on a DS Lite. I lost it a week after I got it, but then again I couldn't get past one part anyway because at that age I didn't know to look for switches and stuff to get out. Nor was I sure how to use a weapon. XD

Coda 01-15-2015 01:45 PM

I don't remember what my first DS game was. XD I'm sure Tetris DS was among them?

I DO remember what the first game I bought with my own money was, though -- Super Mario Land for Game Boy. I have a very clear memory of digging my fingers into the shrink wrap in the car despite my father telling me to wait until I got home.

Espy 01-15-2015 04:35 PM

Oh man, I don't remember. It might've been Pokemon Diamond. I'm pretty sure FFCC EoT was also gotten pretty early on.

My first-ever game? That would be Spyro: Season of Ice for the GBA/SP. I think that game actually came with the SP my mom had bought for me (Xmas gift); it was probably worth, what, $5 at the time and used as a test cartridge.

...I don't think I ever beat it. I should get back to that, huh.

EDIT: And then I bought FFIV Adv shortly after and holy shit RPGs.

Madame-Aiko 01-15-2015 04:38 PM

@Coda Oh gosh I love Tetris. To this day I still play it on my father's phone often.
@Espy Pokemon Diamond was actually the first legit game I took seriously and didn't lose. I had this amazing Staraptor, too. She was awesome.
Then my little sis sold it as Gamestop. >:C !!!

Espy 01-15-2015 04:40 PM

What, how dare she!

Madame-Aiko 01-15-2015 04:47 PM

I know, right? She knew Aerial Ace and Brave Bird and AUGH... Just thinking about it makes me angry.

Coda 01-15-2015 05:46 PM

Makin' me feel old here, folks.

Madame-Aiko 01-15-2015 06:54 PM

@ Coda Heyyyy I played Mario too. XD

Coda 01-15-2015 07:31 PM

This one? Unless you're older than I'm giving you credit for, there's a very distinct chance it was released before you were even born. >.> Or at least while you were in diapers.

Madame-Aiko 01-15-2015 09:14 PM

Ohhhh no, not that one. Oh gosh. ll'D That is very old.

Coda 01-15-2015 10:24 PM

So mean to me *cries and hides in corner*

Just kidding

Lucid: 01-15-2015 11:16 PM

My first ever game was Pokemon Yellow. Still not as old as Mario, sorry Coda.

My first DS games were Pokemon Pearl and Scribblenauts. Got 'em at the same time, but I never did finish Scribblenauts.

Madame-Aiko 01-16-2015 06:56 AM

@Coda

Nuuu don't be sad. :'l

@Lucid:
At one point I had scribblenauts as well! I loved to make whack things with random words.

Karastorm 01-16-2015 10:23 AM

My first ds game erm...I have no idea I had minish cap on the sp/ gba though that was pretty fun

Madame-Aiko 01-16-2015 10:25 AM

Minish Cap? What was it about?
I've never heard of that one before. :p-laugh:

Chloe 01-17-2015 12:17 AM

Hm.. pretty sure my first DS game was the Nintendo Dogs and Cats. Me and my mom put deposits down to get the DS systems cause only color you could get was silver at the time when they first came out and she bought all the Nintendo Dogs/Cats that came out the same day, believe it was two different expansions for both.

A few years ago for Christmas, my family bunched together and got me a Pearl/Rose Pink DS lite (the pink ds lites sold pretty quick, me and my mom located one at the local Wal-Mart and to save herself the hassle, she just ended up buying it so I could get it for X-mas. Believe I choose a few games to go with it as well, Golden Sun or the second Golden Sun came out around that time, cause I had a choice between it or Fire Emblem and my mom ended up bringing over Fire Emblem to me from the States cause I ended up wanting it and the prices for a new game were so high that she won me an used one off of Ebay as well as an used Kingdom Hearts.)

My first ever GB games would be Pokemon Red/Blue and Yellow. My parents bought me the gameboy pocket and the three games as a gift. I ended up having three pokemon yellows cause my dad brought home another gameboy pocket (same color as mine) and a gameboy color which had the pokemon yellow cartridges in them. Also got Super Mario Bros and another game that way, can't remember cause I know it was the system before the DS and the old black and white gameboy before the pocket cause I have the huge gameboy here as well to play Pokemon Pinball cause the DS won't play it. XD Huge fail there.. but I seldom play the pinball, so the older gameboy rarely has batteries in it.

Schadenfreude 01-17-2015 06:52 PM

Must've been either Pokémon Platinum or Pokémon SoulSilver.

Coda 01-18-2015 05:26 AM

Nintendogs & Cats was 3DS... that couldn't have possibly been the game you got with a classic silver DS. >.>

Madame-Aiko 01-18-2015 06:39 PM

I think there's some versions of Nintendogs and Nintencats for DS Lite. Not together, but separately.

Coda 01-18-2015 11:15 PM

3DS was the first time cats appeared in the franchise. The DS ones were only dogs.

MeghanB 02-07-2015 12:45 AM

Yeah, Nintendogs was the first one I got. That was on the DS Phat, the big silver one. No cats in that one! Lol, all that time spent speaking commands into that microphone and looking like a total dork. XD I think WarioWare: Touched! was the next one I got after that. Ah, good times. :D

Huh, odd to see several DS threads in the games forum. I guess there's a bunch of DS fans here? Hooray! My people!! =D

Akai 02-12-2015 03:10 AM

I bought my 3DS specifically so I could play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Before that I was on the original Game Boy (the old clunky gray one) and playing tons of games...including that Mario game shown on page one. Another favorite of mine was Kwirk. I guess I'm in the 'old' category too? Maybe? lol Now I really want to go pull out my old one and play some classics. Just need to dig up 4 AA batteries...>.>

Coda 02-12-2015 06:43 PM

I can't find my gray-brick Game Boy. :( At least I still have a GBA SP, so I can still play all of my classic Game Boy games -- with one exception: Kirby's Tilt and Tumble. The GBA SP cartridge slot is upside-down so the tilt sensors are oriented wrong.

Akai 02-12-2015 07:08 PM

I have two old ones, but I can only find one at the moment. It's amazing that they work after so many years. I think my dad has a Game Boy Advance, since I remember playing Pokemon Yellow and having a bit of color at one point.

Citrus 02-21-2015 12:05 AM

Yoshis island, I miss it. ;C Got lost during moving.

Kitty Paine 10-27-2015 01:49 AM

Pokemon Diamond or Animal Crossing: Wild World. Those were the DS games I was most excited for when I finally upgraded from Gameboy Advance SP to Nintendo DS.

Bassy 01-08-2017 03:02 PM

My first DS was the 3DS XL and I still have it. I got it in 2015 on my birthday. And I have always wanted a DS since I was a kid but never got one. By my freshman year of college, I got one lol. My brother gave me his DS games and my first was Ocarina of Time. I feel such a newb in this but it's my first DS game I played lol.

Potironette 01-08-2017 03:27 PM

Pokemon Mystery Dungeons: Explorers of Time
on a DS Lite. Never really played any other game..Oh, I played Kirby (minigames, adventure galore. I dunno what the version was called) and Starfy. And that's it xD

SparX 01-08-2017 04:11 PM

Animal crossing and Story of Seasons for the 3ds
I got it late 2014 I think?

Kaderin Triste 01-09-2017 09:06 PM

Oh gosh... I got my DS in the fall of 2007 and when I bought it, I also picked up Animal Crossing: Wild World, Pokemon Diamond (or Platinum, I ALWAYS forget which one it is), Spectrobes 2, and one other game that I can't remember right now. It was the first game system I ever bought new.

Neonriser 01-30-2017 10:41 PM

Kirby Squeak Squad

My first game was Kirby Squeak Squad. I got it for christmas along with my first DS lite (which I still have). I liked it so much that I beat the game twice rather than once!

BTW, I also had a Megaman Star Force game and I wished for a sequel, but didn't get it because I couldn't find Mr.Boreal's old boss until last year. If it wasn't for the online guides, then I wouldn't have beaten that tough final boss by now. ;)

A similar event happened to pokemon Diamond, in which I couldn't find the TM for Defog until also last year. After that, I beat the Elite Four a couple weeks later with a Torterria, a Rapidash, a Crobat, a Staraptor, a Luxray, and a Gastrodon!

Death by Mirrors 01-31-2017 04:41 AM

The first games I ever played on console were Super Mario Land and Kirby's Dreamland. Of course this was way back in the '90s and I didn't even own a gameboy, just borrowed from a friend. First I actually bought was 999: 9 Hours, 9 People, 9 Doors (basically an escape room game with a twist, and I still chuckle at some of the quotes).

Starry Night 02-08-2017 02:13 AM

Probably one of the Harvest Moon games.

Cloudland 02-09-2017 10:39 PM

My first game on the DS was Super Mario 64. I still remember how you'd jump into paintings to go into each world, while trying to collect all the stars. It was really fun, yet challenging at the same time. Childhood memories... ;-;

Pessimisticat 04-03-2017 11:04 AM

Either Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green, I think.

Jester 04-09-2017 06:06 AM

A Naruto game. I got it from a friend. Nothing wrong with it but I wish I got Jump All Stars instead. It looked like such a fun game.

My first game period was Red. I could never forget it.

Fun y that was my second game. Think it was Harvest Moon DS. Wish their current games were as good.

Isis 04-24-2017 02:11 PM

That pokemon racing game (looked it up, Pokemon Dash), where you had to continually flick the screen and really hurt your wrist...

CactuarJoe 07-26-2017 12:01 PM

I believe the three I got with my DS were Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, Final Fantasy III, and I think Elite Beat Agents.
