Recommend Some Video Games 4 Me

While I'm loaded with money here from the holiday I'm considering buying a lot of games.

I'll list some games I own/played, feel free to recommend a game or two depending on what you'd think I'd like.
I only have a PS3, and 3DS. I'm not looking to buy any other system.

Own:
PS3:
Final Fantasy 13 (and 13-2)
Skyrim
Resonance of Fate
Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD
Ratchet and Clank (Tools of destruction, and a crack in time.)
Journey PSN.
Infamous
Littlebigplanet
Oblivion

Played:
Uncharted 1-3
Lost Planet
Sonic games (ALL OF THEM, minus the HD port of Sonic adventure 2.)

3DS: (Please don't recommend DS games.)
Own:
Kid Icarus Uprising
LOZ Ocarina of Time 3D
Kingdom Hearts 3D

Played:
Pokemon Rumble Blast

Can anyone recommend some good games to me? I DARE YOU. I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU. I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU!

Coda 12-28-2012 07:32 PM

And why SHOULDN'T I recommend DS games? There are some bloody good DS games out there.

Ashy 12-28-2012 08:15 PM

because he has access to any DS game :P

Illusion I can recommend some 3ds games for you:

Paper Mario Sticker Star
Virtue's Last Reward(You know about this one :P)
Mariokart 7(though i still play mariokart ds)
Epic Mickey
Theatrhythm(though it does get old pretty quickly but hey final fantasy chars)

for ps3 maybe the assassin creed series, you can pick up the first 4 for like 5-10 each.

What's wrong with PC games? :( PC games and DS games are the only ones I know.

Illusion 12-28-2012 09:18 PM

My computer cant run most PC games, that and I hate PC games controls.

@Ashy
Is theaterythm any good? I'm not a big fan of music games, but I do love final fantasy music.

@Coda
Because odds are I played the game, and I don't want to list every DS game I've ever played. Theres just too many.. o.o

Ashy 12-28-2012 09:22 PM

yeah it actually is quite good and there are different difficulty levels, its pretty cool for nostalgia more than anything

Hero 12-28-2012 11:05 PM

I don't own a PS3 but I have a PS2 ouo
How about any of the Tales of series?
I heard Tales of the Abyss is awesome
Ōkami is pretty awesome.

I heard that game got a 3DS port, I've been complicating whether to buy it or not with myself.

I'm biased, but I love my NHL13. <3
Don't know if you're into [NHL] hockey enough to get its video game equivalent though. XD

I extremely dislike like sports, playing a game would be like playing that one terrible Aquaman game.

OH THE HORROR!

I really would recommend the Assassin's Creed series.....not biased at all though....>.>

Illusion 12-29-2012 04:03 AM

I'm sorta waiting on a Assassin's Creed collection personally. :/ I don't want to buy 5 (6?) different games just to get caught up with a story that I don't really like so much. (My Ex-Girlfriend played Assassin's Creed religiously if you know what I mean, so of course I had to study up on Assassin's Creed. Long story short I got her brothers hooked on Skyrim and she never saw the Xbox again. We broke up well after.)

The game-play looks fun, but I'm not positive I want to start the series until a cheap bundle comes out with all the DLC ect.

Just out of curiosity, if I bought the games is there any game I can skip anything Storywise? Does one game easily explain what happens in the next? Or do I really need to buy every game to know what the hell is going on? I read up on the series before and got confused and alienated from it real fast.

Haha yes PSO2. I love PSO, and am not such a fan of PSU lol. PSO though is sexy stuff smothered onto hot buns.

Also if you like fighting games maybe you can try Tekken Tag Tournament Two, or if you want for like $10 now you can pick up a copy of Bayonetta. It's a pretty fun game. IF you don't know what it is just think of a witch that uses her hair as a catalyst to someone magical demons from hell while using all kinds of weapons which equip to her hands as well as her feet.

Another if you likes Infamous you could try the 2nd one, or play Prototype one and two. They are like Infamous, but you're a slightly more overpowered shapeshifting infected virus man that turns his hands into swords claws whips hammers you name it.

I'm not a big fighting game fan... The only tournament fighting game I've really played was Dragonball Z games.

I heard about Bayonetta (mainly a bunch of fans are boycotting the 2nd game because it's becoming a Wii U exclusive.) What is the gameplay similar to exactly? It looks like a very good (and very sexy..)game.

And I'm kinda torn about Infamous 2 because of the drastic changes of appearance, voice actors, ect Infamous 2 has.

hyjin 12-29-2012 05:39 PM

I Love PSO... i have it on my gamecube still and it works like new and i still play it... im just waiting for pso2 to come out... its so close... it will be in like the first few months of next year

Hex 12-29-2012 07:01 PM

Get Harvest Moon A New Beginning for the 3DS. So I can force more people to pet my cute cow 3:

Bwahahaha, which is why I doubted that you'd be interested. XD

I've never heard of that Aquaman game before, so your reference to it makes no sense to me. :P

Law 12-29-2012 07:20 PM

Bayonetta is basically like a Devil May Cry with a female lead, and she can wield multiple weapons at once. It's like a hack and slash combo thing, and blasphemy about the fighting games. xD

*Runs off to watch some game-play videos*
o.o....
Why do they make soo many sexual like scenes? I don't need to see her crotch every 2 minutes.

Law 12-29-2012 09:54 PM

Lol it's suppose to be funny I would say. Most of the game is more about gameplay than it is watching her erotically dance, but you should watch all the punishments. When she punishes a joy she grabs it with a chain, and pulls it up on an S&M horse then makes it orgasm to death. xD

Illusion 12-29-2012 11:59 PM

*Orgasms to death*
This is... A.. Very... Erotic game.

Law 12-30-2012 12:41 AM

That's kind of the point.

Lucid: 12-30-2012 02:23 AM

I know! I know! XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a fantastic game; one of the best of this year on multiple lists. It's available for PS3 though I played it on the PC.

If you have a control pad that can plug into your computer (or if you're not too biased against keyboard controls) there are a lot of lightweight indie games that will run on almost anything. My husband has been playing The Binding of Isaac a lot lately, and other cool lightweight PC games include Cave Story, Braid, Super Meat Boy, Dustforce, and VVVVV.

The Liztress 12-31-2012 01:14 PM

The Atelier games are really good on the PS3. Also, if you like strategy RPGs and level grinding, definitely look into getting the Disgaea games.

AS far as 3DS games go, I'm not 100% sure what's good as I don't own one. But I've heard lots of good stuff about Virtue's Last Reward. If you liked 999, you might like VLR.

Illusion 12-31-2012 04:39 PM

The Disgaea games looks pretty cool. :3 I will looking into those..

The Liztress 12-31-2012 05:21 PM

I've enjoyed them a lot. 3 is my favorite in the series but 4 is a very close second. Not to mention both should be cheap and easy to find.

Illusion 12-31-2012 05:34 PM

Is the game like Final Fantasy where each game is it's own story, or are they direct sequels to each other? And if so are the 1 and 2nd ones available on the PlayStation network do you know?

The Liztress 12-31-2012 05:38 PM

Yeah, the stories are self-contained. Well, pretty much self-contained. There are cameo appearances from previous characters in the series but if you haven't played the others, it won't harm anything. I don't think the first two are on the PSN yet.

Illusion 12-31-2012 07:03 PM

I might pick 3 and 4 up o.o.. The story sounds great, and the games don't look too expensive.

The Liztress 12-31-2012 09:12 PM

They're humorous.

Also, have you played either of the Borderlands games? They're FPS but it's not like you get penalized for having bad aim. And I think that Red Dead Redemption is a great game if you like the GTA series. I prefer RDR over GTA personally.

I've watched my friend play boarderlands 2 before, it looks fun. And I'm not a big fan of GTA, and I'm not too interested in Red Dead Redemption.

The Liztress 12-31-2012 11:01 PM

I enjoy it. And understandable. What about Devil May Cry? Or Tomb Raider? I think the new installments of each are coming out soon.

Illusion 01-01-2013 12:53 AM

I never really liked Devil May Cry's gameplay. (Dante is cool though, that's the only thing I liked about Devil May Cry.)
And I don't care for Tomb Raider games.

Law 01-01-2013 01:48 AM

Well you're just really damn hard to please. xD. You can try spectrobes for the DS you can get it for like $2.89 at gamestop....It's terrible... HAve no clue what games to suggest though because all my favorite games are fighting games. I guess if you've never played Bioshock you can pick up the first two pretty for pretty cheap now, and they're real fun. Assassin's Creed is pretty cool, but I stalled on Brotherhood and have no played it since. Fable games are cool if you wanna play those I have two copies of number 3 for some reason. Blue Dragon is a Final Fantasy style RPG. It's not bad, but the characters kinda bother me since they have these blue shadow beasts coming out of their backs as their means of fighting. I really like Oblivion, and Skyrim was pretty good. Oblivion pisses me off though because my game glitched during a thief guild quest and I had no other save. Usually can't go wrong with Kirby games. Fallout is interesting. It's just like Oblivion and Skyrim with guns instead. Darksiders is pretty cool as well. One of my friends really like an RPG called Last Remnant. The battle system annoys me though, and I kind of like Infinite Undiscovery but it's not the best thing in the world. It's probably pretty cheap though. No clue what else to suggest though because you're not a big fighting fan, and if you don't like Devil May Cry then that strikes out Bayonetta. I can tell you a game I didn't enjoy because your character looks like a complete dumbass while moving around in the game.... Two Worlds

Ashy 01-01-2013 08:12 AM

illusion is very hard to please :P

and if you skip AC1 you get a recap of what happened in the second one, i like ezio better than altair anyway :P

The Liztress 01-01-2013 04:40 PM

Nothing wrong with being picky. Do you like puzzle type games? If you like ATLUS titles and puzzle games, you might like Catherine. Though it can be a real pain in the rear as you progress through the story.

Law 01-01-2013 06:19 PM

Lol Catherine never played it, but it looks so interesting.

Illusion 01-01-2013 06:35 PM

I've heard of catherine, I'm extremely picky about puzzle games. Catherine would be one of those games I'd have to try a demo first.
And I never played Fallout before o.o... I keep hearing stuff about the PS3 version of the games don't work or they are very glitchy. So I don't know when I should try and pick up the game.
