Black Ops 2!

So the new Call of Duty has just been released on Tuesday and I am LOVING it! At first I was unsure because everything was a bit different but after a couple of games I changed my mind! It's my favorite Call of Duty now.

So... does anyone else frequently play Call of Duty? Did you pick it up at midnight for the release? Favorite core and map? If anyone would like to add me on there my psn is PinkPookie :D And my boyfriend's is Ae86-panda

My favorite map is Aftermath and I love playing Kill Confirmed.

Ducky 11-17-2012 09:23 PM

i'm going to assume that you didn't get it for PS3, as it's totally packed with game ruining bugs and issues right now for us Ps3 owners..

Darth Vader 11-17-2012 09:59 PM

I'm not a fan of the Call of Duty series at all, I'm personally a lot more into the Battlefield series. A friend played it, though, and told me they changed (or moreso added) virtually nothing new to the game from the original Black Ops or Modern Warfare 3.

I hear that a lot. What's the point of buying a game if it's just gonna be almost exactly the same as the last in every way?

Ginger 11-17-2012 11:02 PM

Yes my boyfriend has it for ps3 and there were plenty of bugs with the servers when he first got the game, but I do love the new class setup, plenty of the maps, and absolutely love that I can sign into my own psn account on split screen. I enjoy how accurate you have to be to knife, and to me the graphics are great. After the glitches and errors get cleared it will easily be my new favorite game.

Alpha 11-19-2012 03:43 AM

I skipped out on MW3, but I have this on pre-order....still need to pick it up at some point.

Ducky 11-19-2012 11:36 AM

I had so many issues with it that it's literally unplayable...

1. first off it wont let me do multiplayer with my PSN account, but other peoples accounts work fine on the same machine.
2. The game freezes about 50% of the times i try and load it up, before it even gets to the menus.
3. If i do get into multiplayer with another account it will take ages to match make 'need more players to balance teams' for something like 5 minutes
4. The gameplay is horribly stuttery for me, no matter how good the internet connection
5. The visuals are murky and blurry compared to all the other platforms

It quite easily the worst launch of a game i have ever seen. Even worse Than Skyrim and it's millions of bugs >_>

That all being said, I'm loving it when i can actually play xD I ignored the single player and went into online, which is essentially just a slightly refined version of black ops 1. that's al i wanted. For simple and mindless fun when you get back from work it's perfect.

Night Angel 11-19-2012 01:55 PM

I for one can't wait to try out the new Zombies mode....especially since they have worked - from what I have read - on making it into a more stand-alone experience similar to a mini-campaign.

hyjin 11-19-2012 01:59 PM

EEEEEEVVVVVIIIIIILLLLLL

I dont want to buy it... its not the same call of duty anymore... its all futuristic now...

Night Angel 11-19-2012 02:21 PM

Well, that's what they are all heading towards (first person shooters in general). Just look at the Modern Warfare games that Call of Duty made.....they have been getting more and more futuristic with each game. "Heartbeat sensor"? What else is that if not futuristic tech?

hyjin 11-19-2012 02:29 PM

yes heart beat sensor is futuristic but seriously robots...

Ducky 11-19-2012 02:43 PM

if you're playing mainly online i would say the futuristic theme doesn't actually come across that strong. none of the kill streaks are especially futuristic, and the maps definitely aren't, for the most part.

hyjin 11-19-2012 02:46 PM

i dont have it so... like i could careless until someone drags me to play it

Ducky 11-19-2012 02:47 PM

i like how you don't want to buy it because it changed a tiny bit, when the main criticism of the entire franchise is how it never changes xD

hyjin 11-19-2012 02:49 PM

it changed so much from the other ones... black ops i liked the crossbow and other stuff then they change the crossbow to some weird thing that is real but its like wow so much to change...

Ducky 11-19-2012 02:51 PM

the crossbow is still exactly the same, just with a visual change, and the majority of the weapons are also the same..

hyjin 11-19-2012 02:55 PM

>.< i dont have it to play it... so i dont know this stuff...

Ducky 11-19-2012 02:56 PM

you shouldn't be condemning it for things if you don't even know if they're true or not :P

hyjin 11-19-2012 03:00 PM

but its so strange

Ducky 11-19-2012 03:01 PM

the gameplay is about 98% exactly like black ops 1, with the main changes just being visual things that don't effect anything.

hyjin 11-19-2012 03:03 PM

ducky buy me the game so i must test this theory...

Ducky 11-19-2012 03:04 PM

ahaha, yessir, I'll get right on that!

the way i see the game is like a large map pack with a re-skin included.

hyjin 11-19-2012 03:05 PM

lol... i dont even have halo 4... and my reason on why is bc its not made by bungie... makes me sad

Ducky 11-19-2012 06:45 PM

I sort of want to try Halo 4.. but I'm a PS3 guy :/

Exactly my point... why pay $60 to buy a game that is EXACTLY the same as its predecessor? At least the Battlefield franchise expands and adds tons of new features with each game. Call of Duty is just, "Hey, let's change the perk system a little, add some new maps, and change some of the visuals, then sell it for $60 because people will buy it regardless simply because of it has 'Call of Duty' in it."

It just seems like an utter and complete waste of money to me.

Well i can justify it by saying i have never actually bought a COD game before, so i'm fine with the $60 for it.
But considering the amount of new maps in it, if they were all just DLC for the first one it would probably cost about $60 :P

Zenella 11-22-2012 04:57 AM

I've really enjoy playing Zombies. I love the maps and I dunno I feel like it's easier for me than Black Ops 1 Zombies. Multiplayer is okay, my sister keeps going on about how the weapons are similar to MW3 but I never played it so I can't really complain lol I enjoyed the campaign. I liked the storyline and I love Woods!

hyjin 11-24-2012 12:00 AM

just bought the game gonna play it for a few now... gonna let you know how i think of this call of duty game once play it

Edit: as i thought Overly hyped piece of shit... i mean wtf bouncing betties that you dont even step on and can be triggered in a 3 foot radius... and shotguns have no spread... and hackers already and no patches to ban them WTF

Ducky 11-24-2012 04:56 AM

LOL, bouncing Betties are pretty cool, and existing technology. you can go prone and they wont kill you.

I can't say I've seen any hackers myself on the PS3.

hyjin 11-24-2012 05:09 AM

the betties yes they are real... but you have to step on them to set off... and wtf is up with that if they enemy is right next to it and you set it off that they dont die from the explosion

Ducky 11-24-2012 10:11 AM

Yeah, and its set slightly in the future where technologies have improved. Proximity. Sensors are a thing, so i can see them being possible to make today.

As for the lack of friendly fire... why the hell are picking on the betty? Not all the other much bigger explosions, kill streaks etc in all COD games that dont hurt the team who used them... its always been like that.

hyjin 11-24-2012 09:11 PM

no... in other cod games if a napalm strike, air strike, rolling thunder, or any other large explosion kill streak was called it did kill the person that called it in... and if you play on hardcore it can kill your team

Ducky 11-24-2012 09:24 PM

wait, the bettys do kill you if you;re near them when they go off.. I got killed by my own multiple times today.

hyjin 11-24-2012 10:01 PM

well not when i was playing yesterday... the enemy was still alive next to their betty once i set it off
