What Anime Do You Think Had the Best Opening/Ending Theme?
 

Or, alternately, what are some of your favorites? I still go nuts for Through The Night from Outlaw Star, but the opening themes from Boku No Hero are sooooooo effing good!

By way of ending themes, I am still in love with Death Note's themes. (But also Splash Free from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club)

But off the top of my head, Naruto's Yura Yura, Naruto's blue bird (ayyy guess where i got inspiration for my UN), Kuroko no Basuke OP 2 (The Other Self), Persona 5 op, aaaaaaand Spongebob. :^)

I like Tank! from Cowboy Bebop a ton (like, I seriously have the full song on my phone and listen to it all the time), and I have always really liked all the intro and outro songs from Shugo Chara! because they are always very fun and high-energy. I have a few, but not all of them also.

I'm just gonna throw it out there that Spongebob isn't technically an anime. It is a western cartoon.

It's so hard to choose, cause I used to watch a lot of maho shojo anime and pretty much all of them have catchy themes, especially the older series imo.

Bluebird is like...the *only* anime opening theme that I know of, on account of not watching anime. But I somehow know half the lyrics to that particular song, and my roommate and I were talking about Naruto once and I just...randomly started singing it?

Never really thought of themes being catchy, as it was more a signal of anime happening and there wasn't enough of the stuff around when I was really into it to compare. I do remember actually being able to sing the end theme to Record of Lodoss War because it was handily in English.

QMC (and all of you), listen to 'Kiseki no Umi', it's the opening of the anime of Lodoss War. It's beautiful T^T almost makes me cry.

I'm addicted to Dried Up Youthful Fame(OP to second season of Free!) again. It's one of my favorites. <3 Really hope OldCodex does the theme for season 3 this summer. I'll be majorly disappointed if they don't. :(

I just watched through some Naruto OP/EDs. I'm finding so many that I love: Naruto Shippuden OP 8, Shippuden OP 13, Naruto ED 10, Naruto Shippuden ED3, I'm just gonna stop before I list all Naruto sequences at this point lmao.
Forgot to mention Attack on Titan OP 1 (the song esp), Tokyo Ghoul Op 1 (grew on me tbh), and Tokyo Ghoul Ed1 (favorite because it was like a gateway to follow all the amazing artists who did fanart).
I remember loving the asymmetrical style/animation of Soul Eater's OP, but really wasn't feeling the song.

But damn, my older faves aside, these newer anime OPs are killer.
Kujira no kora wa sajou (Children of the Whales) OP makes me want to dress up as a hobbit or something. It's so pretty and fantasmical.
Violet Evergarden doesn't even have an OP yet, but the trailer still gives me chills. how much of the budget did kyoani spent to animate the hair lmao fuk me it looks so nice
I might be biased on Houseki no Kuni because the manga is gr88/8, and the song fits being delicate and chaotic.

I didn't know they had a thing for TV, just the two mini-series. The choral parts remind me of the opening for Ghost in the Shell.

EDIT: I botched it and mentioned the wrong song. This is the Macross Opening that my sister always liked. I just like the first few moments when it's just the voice.

I'm still amused by the character in the show. Dwarf fighter, elf mage, human wizard, human priest, human other figher, battling dragons and such. How much more DnD can you get?

Other bonus! Kaneda's theme from Akira. My sister has the soundtrack and this was already pretty awesome. It's a funky movie. A lot of the songs were done with minimal instruments or just flat out voice work. Sounds odd at times but kinda cool.

I don't watch anime but I liked a reboot of a classic one when I was younger. Cyborg 009. Netflix did their own reboot and I like the OP and ED tracks.

Okay, so I just started watching more anime and the intros to both Death Note and Soul Eater are just....perfect!

Tbh I don't watch a lot of anime, but I'm still a sucker for the Death Note intros/outros (looks like I'm not alone on that). I also really enjoy Pop Team Epic's intro.
