I'm reading people whining on mangafox for taking down licensed published manga in English. Really I'm disgusted. The companies are going bankrupt if it's keeping up like this and they don't give a shit. They ruin it it for them who wants to buy them. I believe 80% of these kids can actually afford buying them very fine. What pisses me off even more is that they have no respect for the creators. They are working all year except 2 freaking weeks plus some single holiday or even on those holidays. I know that some people like you Sadrain can't always get hold of the books or have the money for it but most of these kids are in the US and they can get them anywhere. Ugh. It makes me really angry. When stuff get licensed they should take them down. Some scanlators actually do that but idiots keeps sharing them...

I don't think you're right about 80% of them being able to buy them. That stuff is expensive and the pocket moneys aren't that huge anywhere and the cool kids who could afford them, don't read even manga.
|
Manga isn't only for "kids", those who buy it the most are probably around at least 16 and they can even get jobs. I still don't like their attitudes. They are selfish. I hope they never put the licensed stuff up ever again. Manga just got even more expensive thanks to these people who don't wanna buy them.
It would be great if this still worked but it doesn't. Even people who can buy them don't cause they can get it for free. They are ruining it for everyone. They ruin it for the poor and those who buy the books. The issue there is those who can but don't. Not 10 year old brats with low pocket money. :< Neither the poor guys fault. |
If they're in the US, they can get the manga anywhere, and the most expensive they'll find it is, maybe $15. I used to work in a book store and they had two whole aisles devoted to manga and graphic novels, an extremely large variety, too. I find it hard to believe they couldn't find it here, and I find it even harder to believe they wouldn't be able to afford it.
And, even if they can't afford it, we have a public library system here for a reason. Most library systems will willingly order in books (manga included) if they don't already stock it. And there's used book stores, too, where you can find tons of manga - in English as well as Japanese, so the variety is fantastic. I think they're just cheap, or there's something about the manga/anime fanbase that makes them think they're entitled to free media. I don't know if it's because they got it for free for so long because no one would import it/fan translations/whatever, and now they're just used to it, or what but I haven't seen any other fanbase cause such an uproar about actually having to pay/support the people they're fans of. |
You're right johnny, many scans on mangafox are actually from American libraries. It's free and it's everywhere. It's there they just need to get they fat asses up and go. As long as you're in a semi big town in the US they should have something.

Fine, fine, I won't argue, I am not on either side enitrely anyways.
