i love Death from the Endless.... she was the second 'incarnation' of Death i'd 'met.' i 'met' her back when i was working at a comic book store about a zillion years ago (ok, ok, it was only 1993....)

i also like Piers Anthony's Death as well, that was the first incarnation i'd 'met'.

ml1201 03-15-2016 04:19 PM

@Tam
Maybe try LED lights? See if you can read better with them, I use an LED light for my lamp, but I just use it for general purpose light since I have it pointed away, else its too bright for me. ^^;

Lawtan 03-15-2016 04:27 PM

Heh. I said to my folks that as all the annoying people will be wormfood one day, that it is pointless to get mad at them.

One "Death" I liked was from a fan-mod game. Jergal, a god of Death who initially was just as it says on the tin. He killed without any emotion. Then he wound up adopting a kid who lost their family, and sort of cracked the emotional hardshell. For a while, he stopped killing, but then suffering spread - a guy would starve without dying, or would be burning endlessly. So, he retook the job as a sort of "death as a way to ease suffering" and all.

Other ones being from Faerun.

Many of the shows I like play with the concept of death and life.

The way I see it is that Death is a part of the cycle of life. So why be scared of it?

XD My first meeting with Endless Death was actually not the RPer's character. I remember now, it was when a friend used a picture of her as a base to make one of my characters. Using the icon for my character is why the Death player decided to bring her over and play with me. Death was curious about the girl who looked something like her.

LOL I can't even find those out here. And I'd have to buy a whole new lamp for them.

Jergal sounds like a neat and thought out character.

LOL. For me, it's the way home. Where family is, including my heart parents.

The silicone shoes I ordered last week are somewhere between Billings, Montana, and here. I'm honestly surprised they didn't stop in Chicago...

Animator vs. Animation: The Game!

Tam I am 03-25-2016 02:54 PM

There's a game of it now? Cooool!

Ugh. And I am starting to lose my marbles again. At least I managed to make people laugh about it last night.

Also ordered my first burger sans bun last night.

Den 03-25-2016 06:20 PM

So I got a package today...

http://i.imgur.com/5zFlwQm.jpg

My Inov-8 Evoskins arrived! They're made of silicone, and I took the straps off.

Tam I am 03-25-2016 06:50 PM

LITTLE PINK FEETS! :D

Indians taste American treats.

Lawtan 03-25-2016 07:06 PM

Okay, I know that Buzzfeed is criticized for clickbait and all...but that was funny. And nice to see people just experience things for once.

AND PIIINK!

Zack 03-25-2016 08:53 PM

Buzzfeed gets a bad rep, I think they have some good content on there! There, of course, is some awful stuff but it doesn't make up most of the site.

Lawtan 03-25-2016 10:47 PM

So, the Facebook Buzzfeed recommendations are the worst of it? Facebook needs to work on its algorithm...

Zack 03-26-2016 11:36 AM

Everything Facebook recommends to me is awful xD I have no idea how they determine their ads.

Lawtan 03-26-2016 02:11 PM

Some of the material they've sent me has...ugh. There is a reason I am rarely ever on.

Zack 03-26-2016 02:35 PM

I use Facebook almost solely for the messenger...Otherwise it stresses me out

Lawtan 03-26-2016 02:58 PM

Same. Add that a reason some niche forums died was because folk moved to Facebook...and some personal bad experiences...yeah...

Zack 03-26-2016 03:01 PM

Hahaha that picture is soooo true though!

I wish this forum was a bit more active. It seems the same 10 people or so are all that post lately. :c

Lawtan 03-26-2016 03:20 PM

:(
Well, at least it is active. Most forums I've went to have 1-5 posts in the last year. .-.

Pink? And yes. The one girl's response to Pop Rocks. "Dwali in my mouth!" It was all so neat. And the Sikh boy's reaction to Twinkies... "They're disgusting, but *beeeep* tasty!"

It was a lovely and refreshing video. The one of the Indian people watching American people try Indian snacks for the first time was also pretty good.

And I recommend the series where the Buzzfeed guys tracked down cabbies from other countries, asked their stories, and then asked them to come eat at a restaurant that best reminded them of the food of their birth country. Some of those videos are totally awesome. Especially the one with the Armenian man.

Yeeeah. I totally left Facebook years ago. It made me crazy(er).

Heh. I like Pidgin better. Unobtrusive, non-computer hogging, and not pushy like Skype. Also easy to block idjits on.

Ten people is a good community when we are active! :p-grin:

trystan830 03-26-2016 04:08 PM

i read my notifications on FB. and mindlessly scroll through my feed... when i actually pay attention to it anyway. ;)

Tells you more!

I love it. It's so much easier for me to use than even straight AOL messenger, which is the messenger that I use in it since YIM will no longer work for me.

Den 03-27-2016 11:43 PM

Pidgin is what I use, in addition to Skype. Tam, and a couple mutual friends of hers and mine are the only people I talk to on Pidgin, and all my Tumblr buddies and a few people I keep in touch with via facebook are also on Skype.

I mainly use FB for keeping in touch with my chosen family, and to follow cosplayers whose work I like. I also use it to promote my cosplay page, though I also have a Patreon for that now.

ml1201 03-28-2016 02:13 PM

I'm trying to figure out what the pink footies are used for. o.O;

Lawtan 03-28-2016 03:16 PM

They're used for Den Feets!

ml1201 03-28-2016 03:47 PM

But do they keep Den's feet warm? :o

Lawtan 03-28-2016 04:09 PM

...I don't know. Dry, probably (look like rubber - not the best for heat, but good for dry...so puddles and streams...)
Unless they are like croks (wrong spelling), which serve a primary goal of protecting the sole of the foot.

Tam I am 03-28-2016 09:36 PM

They're shoes, guys. Shoes for running around town in and doing stuff. LOL

Lawtan 03-28-2016 09:47 PM

Nah, running around is for bare feetsies! xD

Den 03-28-2016 10:35 PM

They're silicone, and it turns out the straps that come with them are too short to go over the tops of my feet, so it's a good thing I took 'em off.

Tam I am 03-29-2016 02:31 PM

XD But with the shoes, the bare feetsies running doesn't result in ICK stuck to the feets!

Eek, glad you didn't hurt your feet.

ml1201 03-29-2016 04:17 PM

Oh, so they are like those weird things that look like rubbery socks, but sturdier?

Didn't hurt, but I couldn't get the shoes on with the straps there.

I've never seen the things that look like rubbery socks...

Lawtan 03-29-2016 11:47 PM

I've used rubber socks before - for heavy water outdoors conditions.

Tam I am 03-30-2016 12:35 AM

I've seen pictures of silcone shoes that looked like squishy Crocs with backs, and I've seen surf sock type shoes, but not rubber socks yet.

Lawtan 03-30-2016 08:35 AM

As said, they're for keeping socks dry in conditions (caving) where wet socks can raw/chafed or tearing skin.

It is spring here now. Yesterday the gulls came back.
