Just remembering the odd dream I had last night where I was participating in a large hedge maze/d&d battle thing. Basically dozens of people in a hedge maze walking around as their character and you could form alliances and parties to battle others or try to go it alone and when you decided to fight someone else, you both would raise a red flag and all movement within the maze would halt so that the "dm" could come basically mediate while the players literally would "fight" with dice rolls to determine hits and damage to figure out who wins.
And Matt Mercer was the one hosting and I remember him basically assessing everyone before the event started and looking directly at me and telling me to improve my costume before the next day, because this was apparently a multi-day event or something idk.

For context: my weather app said it was 66°F out at 7:30. My indoor thermometer said it was 85.2°F inside at the same time.
And that was with an oscillating fan and ceiling fan both running.

Realizing just how easy it is to start a fight on Instagram.
I literally made a sarcastic comment on a hairdye ad (Overtone's "Blue for brown hair" dye ad where the color is literally like 1/4 of a shade away from just being straight black) and immediately got a snarky comment from a person about how if you want vibrant color you have to bleach first (which I'm WELL aware of as I have dark hair and had fun colored hair for many years) and how the hair in the ad wasn't black and clearly had a blue tint and color over dark hair is going to make it darker.
Lol.
People are so ready to pick fights over the most ridiculous stuff. (Realistically I didn't need to make the sarcastic comment, but I wasn't the first or only one saying the same thing so...*shrug*.)

Birthdays suck as an adult.

Blergh. Feeling unmotivated today.

Ugh. I really wanna spend a lot of money on making (er...assembling items for) another Halloween costume this year...
But I know I shouldn't. XP
A lot of the items will totally be re-wearable though.
I dunno I just wanna have a new outfit with easier to walk in boots and tons of dragons...and wings...>.>
And I need a new light for my wizard staff as the light I had for it is totally lost.
Also kinda debating just learning to make a wizard staff as I think the one I have doesn't look the greatest up close...

Tldr; I wanna be cute for Halloween, but don't have the money for everything I want. XD

I'd like to learn how to make props for Halloween decor that I can put outside. Supplies for those are pretty expensive, too. But I've been wanting to have something more unique that doesn't look too DIY either. But also lacking ideas.

I don't know what I wanna wear for Halloween yet but hopefully I get to see friends this year x(

Just realized that Halloween falls on a Sunday. So I'll either be working (at the job I don't feel comfortable dressing up at) or staying home so there's no point in dressing up.
...More time to plan for...idk...several years later.

Event update: I left Derpy behind (whoops!) for the first equipment demonstration which, though I'm still a skeptic, had the most potential to make me believe in ghosts and spirits. Most was iffy, but they did a session with a voice recorder on the attic stair landing in groups of 3-5 and the first couple didn't get much in the way of clear results, but I asked the first question in my group and it had a very loud response (though it didn't sound like anything to me beyond static or loud breathing) and everyone else in my group had similarly loud responses to their question except the person from the ghost hunting group.

Then I brought Derpy along for the next couple of demonstrations (and was complimented on my pendulum holding technique 8D), but there was too much variation between the answers everyone was getting to convince me of anything.
The last session was a sort of spirit box app thingy that they did in the basement. It mostly just sounded like static with parts of potential words and the occasional clear word(s), but this obnoxious kid kept saying "it said (insert word/phrase that sounds nothing like the actual sound)!" before the noises would even stop, which got really annoying and made it hard to hear any actual sounds/words.

Now it's "free roam" time where people can take equipment and go to any open areas in the building to try to communicate with any potential spirits on their own or in small groups.
As a skeptic with no actual friends beyond Derpy here, I've decided to just hang out in the gift shop with my crafts and the internet. Though I forgot to bring a crochet hook, so even my crafts may not keep me entertained for much longer. XP

I've gone all in with learning how to make some Halloween props and have been gradually gathering supplies and trying to learn techniques. I've got a pretty full idea now, but it probably won't look like much because the larger items like skeletons are too costly. Hoping to find some second hand or for anyone trying to dispose of them nearby. But I at least have a concept and storyline that will hopefully get the idea across once I can put everything together.

For someone who has never been to Canada, I've managed to amass a fairly impressive amount of Canadian coins. ($39.11 worth to be exact)

Edit: Am trying to return a call about the job I applied for, but the woman I need to call hasn't been in the office the last 2 times I've tried calling and it's making me more anxious just trying to predict the right time to call than the interview did. XP

Got my hand warning-chomped by a handsome malamute-looking doggo today. My fault entirely. I mistook his excited jumping as a happy action and when I went in for a pet, my movement was probably misconstrued as a threat and he gave me a little chomp. But nothing too serious. An itty bitty skin break (which has been thoroughly washed and sanitized) and potentially some light bruising based on how my hand feels.
I assured the owner (who was there and who allowed me the attempted pet or I wouldn't have gone for it at all) that I was fine and it wasn't their doggo's fault and will go to work a little early tomorrow so I can apologize to the doggo for the misunderstanding. (Because he is a sweet boy who didn't mean to hurt me, he was just protecting his family.)

Just wanted to say hope everyone is doing well!

Ngl, it's irritating as fuck that the only day a week I get scheduled at Joann anymore I always have to work with one particular person who elicits a very strong reaction in me. I'm sure she a very nice person but every time she starts to speak, I want to rip my ears off and throw them across the room. If I saw her outside of work, I think my gut reaction would be to just absolutely flee the area. I would walk out of a store without buying anything even if I had gone there intentionally for something if she was in it.

My Halloween efforts wound up being pretty much wasted.

I'm just so fucking tired all the time... I know it's not what had me tired in 2016, 'cause reasons, but I think SAD Is affecting me pretty hard this year...

The person who works at my fave lunch place on fridays always gives me little mini biscotti pieces with my latte and idk if it's something she does for everyone, but it always makes me smile.

Really hope my dad just shuts up and accepts my legitimate reason for not wanting to go to my grandma for Thanksgiving. Mainly that my hrandma is older and I work directly with the public A LOT and the covid vaccine doesn't make you impervious to getting covid, so I'd rather not risk bringing covid to my elderly grandmother. Especially given that I have had several coworkers sick with covid in the last 2 months and 1 of them, who was vaccinated, was so sick that they were out of work for over a month and a half.
(Like, nevermind that it means sitting around in a car for over 4 hours in total on probably not so great roads only to eat nothing but a variety of potatoes and maybe cranberry sauce because I'm the only vegetarian in the family so heaven forbid anyone make a garden salad. I tolerate that for Christmas usually anyway, though I would really rather not deal with it this year either. Like, do I want covid to run my life? No. But I don't really want to potentially be responsible for my grandma's death if she gets covid because of me.)

Wondering if I should sign up to foster dogs, even though it involves being available to be contacted by potential adopters and home visits. But it would be extremely anxiety inducing.

Am riddled with anxiety because my holiday hours got a bit muddled (I was supposed to take a full hour lunch, but the boss put down a 30 minute lunch and I didn't think anything of it and just took the 30 min), so Tuesday the boss said to come in 30 min later than usual Friday and that there wasn't a weekly meeting, but then an email got sent out this evening with the meeting agenda so now idk if I'm excused from this meeting and am still coming in late or if I need to go in at my usual time. Because if I go in at my usual time, it messes up my holiday hours and means I'd be working an extra 30 min but not getting paid for it because hours were submitted yesterday (so my hours to the end of the week were filled out in advance).

So there's this large bird up high in one of our backyard trees, and it's likely to be a great blue heron. It's been sleeping most of the night but I saw it stretch out its neck and wings a bit so that helped me kinda identify it.

The bird has been here before I think but this is the first time I think I've seen it. o_O
