Yes, she is! Also did you notice any episodes written by Bryan Fuller in Voyager? I don't think he got to do much writing for Discovery, but he at least helped start it and pushed for it to be more inclusive.

Yeah, at least she was cast though. It sounds like it almost didn't happen when they let go of Fuller.

I liked the first couple of seasons well enough. Not that great though. Having a hard time getting into the 3rd season, so I only saw a couple so far. He did seem to be trying to make it more like Trek and less humorous than the first 2 seasons.

Yeah, but it has serious moments. It does try to focus on moral dilemma the way Star Trek used to. But it's not over the top with the comedy, at least not what you would expect with MacFarlane.

I think I saw a comment about trans issues in orville? But that anti trans people thought it was anti trans, but trans advocates thought it was pro trans.

There is a storyline involving trans aliens, it did seem pro trans at first but it got kind of complicated and probably could have been handled better. I don't remember enough details now. Also they originally aired the first episodes out of order.

It wasn't too bad. The higher ups apparently though the other episodes would be better to start with. I don't know how anyone can think that's a good idea though.

When it's totally episodic it's ok, but if you have even 2 episodes that depend on each other... it's... weird.

They might have re-edited so it would be less confusing, but I'm not sure.

Have you watched that many? I've started watching a bunch, but none have been that appealing. Oh, except The Last Black Man in San Francisco.

I watched several star trek movies xD I don't think I watched 'movie theater' movies much. Or netflix movies.

I wish the newer ones were less action focused. Or maybe they are, I haven't given them all a chance.

It's hard to get in the mindset of learning new characters and stories a lot of the time with movies.

You're so right Bio (as usual), I also thought the newer films were too much action and not enough philosophy!! Maybe the one coming in 2023 will focus on that and uhh not have any woman gratuitously nude.

I did see that, overall I liked it but felt like they drew things out too much for the sake of adding suspense and just couldn't appreciate Patrcia Arquette's character. I know it sounds weird but, Tramell Tillman has a beautiful walk.

I binge watched so there wasn't much suspense to me but I imagine that waiting a week between episodes must've been maddening xD

Like the timing of the last couple of episodes were drawn out too intentionally from what I can remember. But I like the style and I overall concept.

I always hate cliche looking aliens in general. Because when you see how wild deep sea creatures look, or rainforest animals and insects, there's so much potential to create more interesting looking aliens.
