Why not, DK? D:

Demonskid 07-02-2012 02:38 PM

cause i never had a school who offered japanese =/ its all french and spanish around here

Azrael 07-02-2012 02:39 PM

XD I stole my J1 textbook (from high school)
But I still have my Japanese 112, 211, and 212 book (granted 211 and 212 are the same book). I sold my 111 book and wish I hadn't. Oh well.

Anyway, DK have you ever used those picture things? Where they compare the katakana to a picture.

Demonskid 07-02-2012 02:40 PM

i have downloaded one of those.. but i don't like it.. i prefer to use the picture things for the kanji

Echo-chan713 07-02-2012 02:41 PM

I wish my high school had Japanese but all they had was four languages: Spanish, German, Italian, and French.

But I couldn't do any of the languages because language is something that needs to be taugh at a young age and I didn't learn any other language when I was younge and then when I was 14 they tried to put me in Spanish and I would fail it miserably

Azrael 07-02-2012 02:43 PM

._.' It doesn't HAVE to be taught when you're young... It's easier I'm sure, but people do just fine taking it in college and learning it as a adults. Teens definitely aren't too old to learn.

And ah, why's that DK O3o

Demonskid 07-02-2012 02:43 PM

around here forigne languages are taught only in highschool but you need good grades in English before going to french or spanish

Azrael 07-02-2012 02:45 PM

Really? Around here you needed to take I think at least one year of a foreign language to even graduate...

(BTW: I wish we had german. I totally would've taken that, too)

Demonskid 07-02-2012 02:53 PM

schools should try to teach all the languages 3<

Azrael 07-02-2012 02:55 PM

LoL I wish we had the resources for that :P

No, I do think at least 3 or 4 languages should be offered at each school. Spanish and French... I guess because those are popular. and then one asian language and then... IDK another European language I suppose. Or perhaps another Asian one depending.
