Moonless Midnight 10-06-2012 03:56 PM

@Hel: I'm in Canada so it could be Canada and the US having a nice big ol cold season now -_-

Twigg 10-06-2012 04:00 PM

-stumbles in-

o 3o Hey everyone.
Hows it goin?

Moonless Midnight 10-06-2012 04:11 PM

Hey Twigg! I'm doing good, yourself?

Pathosis 10-06-2012 04:13 PM

Lol. You can just call me Path. :p And thanks! I enjoy yours~

The temperature's dropped a LOT in the last few months.
It's bitter cold right now and windy.
It's 9 degrees out, but feels like it's 6.
Er...48, but feels like 43.
It's horrible. :/
I think that's a factor in all the sickness going around...
Try taking a really hot bath and sweat out the cold.
It's what my boyfriend does when he's sick, and it usually works.
The tea would help, too.

Helsinki Harlot 10-06-2012 04:23 PM

Moony; It makes sense since the sweep came down from way up north.

I don't know if I mentioned it but I'm just being bratty because I've never been sick in October. My favorite month (other than December which is the same lvl) of the year. D: < How dare the world make sick the first days of Fall.

Twigg; Sick but otherwise chillin'. You ? :)

Path;I am so tired of running to the microwave every two seconds to make myself tea.D:<

You in Europe then? (I assume due to the number dif.) My home's Finland but I've lived state side is why I ask. :)

And I tried that. When I first felt my fever hit I cocooned myself in blanket and just tried to get it out. I'm not too surprised tho'. I think I may just have a shit immune system compared to others.

Even with the sickness tho', I'm so happy it's cold. You can always put on more clothes. Just 2-3 weeks ago we had above 90 degree weather and before that we almost hit 110. Hot as all fuck. xD;

Pathosis 10-06-2012 04:27 PM

Lol. No, I'm Canadian. xD
I mentioned before that the colds are here in Canada, too. :p
Pity that you left your tea maker back at your old place though...
I've never been big on coffee or tea. Lol.
I only drink coffee when I absolutely need to stay up and am on the verge of passing out.

I hate the cold. This cold is almost Winter temperature.
It's suppose to be fall...ugh. I love the Fall temperatures.
It's just cold enough to wear a sweater, but not enough for a coat.
Lately I've been having to double up when I go out. :/

Helsinki Harlot 10-06-2012 04:42 PM

Patho; Right. Yeah. I don't. Blame brain. I'm barely keeping two thoughts together other than pretty colors.

Oh I didn't. We'd slowly worked on moving out and final straw came. We had 48 hours and we worked our asses off and I left with a friend to move boxes out of the place so we'd have somewhere to keep them safe. I came back and half the shit wasn't done so I did what I could and I saw it still under the sink and I told them about it while I packed up the rest of the kitchen but they forgot. So I no longer have my favorite tea maker that my mom had when she was my age. D: [/ sick and way too emotionally attached to items]

I don't like coffee at all. My lil' sis is obsessed about it tho'. I usually just drink water but mmm.... tea. <3

Damn that sucks. I mean as much as I wish for your temps I know it's different being in Texas. My main goal is to go back to Finland and my dad keeps telling me you're going to hate the cold winters. But at least they have seasons.

I haven't been able to go outside in months or breathe the air because it's been so hot around here. I'm so ready to layer up.

And I've lost my train of thought. Sorry. x.x

Pathosis 10-06-2012 05:04 PM

It's okay. xD Everyone is a bit brain dead when they're sick.

I'd hold it against your friends forevaaaaaaaaar. Lol. Kidding, but really.
That sucks. Especially if it was your moms. It was something of a heirloom.
I left my toothbrush at my friends a week ago, and she messaged me yesterday saying it was there.
And she didn't throw it out. Because she didn't know if I was sentimental towards it.
Which I wasn't. Because it's a toothbrush. xD
But a tea maker that was your mothers makes more sense.

I'm sorry it's been so hot there.
We had days like that here in the Summer this year. It was stifling.
It's okay, I tend to ramble and lose my train of thought, too. xD

Twigg 10-06-2012 05:14 PM

Moonlight - That's good~ And I'm alright. :)
Weekend. Yay. :P

Helsinki - Oh nooo! :(
My roommate has a really bad cold. I'm just hoping that I don't get it. x3

Pathosis 10-06-2012 05:53 PM

Are you excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow, Twigg?
> u <
Piiiiiiiiie~

Helsinki Harlot 10-06-2012 11:38 PM

._. Wait Thanksgivings tommorow? How sick AM I?

Path...o.... something whatever I forgot what you told me to call you. Yeah I was pretty pissed, I mostly let it go but I kinda pulled that card out earlier when she was bitching aout having to keep going back to the microwave to make me tea.

I lost my thought thing again. And I'm just staring into space.

Obsidian 10-06-2012 11:57 PM

Meh, I decided to stay with manga-style.
http://i46.tinypic.com/1zwc9x5.png

Still practicing and getting the hang of things. Never really was one for manga-style hands, so I'm just going to bite my tongue and roll with it. Figured the more I draw like this and be happy about it, the better I'll be in a few years or so.

Helsinki Harlot 10-07-2012 12:30 AM

I like it.

And hey; I avoided hands for 4 years. And Manga hands actually look a lot like real people hands. It's a good place to start tho'.

My pro-tip if you're trying to move more towards real life figures; practice tracing refs. Especially with a new tablet thing (I'm sick so forgive me if I rem. the wrong person) TRACING is the best thing you can do for practice. http://senshistock.deviantart.com/ is the best for that.

I know most artist curse tracing out the ass (except they all know they did it at some point), as long as you don't publish it for profit. But if you want to learn more realistic you have to have your hand get used to the STROKES. So if you're not happy with manga style, trace over an actual picture the lines and your hand will eventually get used to those movements and after awhile, bam. :)

I hope that made sense.

Never thought of it that way. I'll hafta do that! And I know that stock.. Hehe. I know another one too who does more medieval/fantasy poses for warriors and such.

Feto 10-07-2012 01:02 AM

o.o
Hmmm.

Obsidian 10-07-2012 01:29 AM

You stickin around, Feto?

Helsinki Harlot 10-07-2012 01:36 AM

Feto; We see you! :) What's up?

Well, I am one of those artists who cuss tracing out the ass, lol.
But never looked towards it as a private self-tutor. It would help with me getting the body shape correctly, even for manga. I'm now searching for good stocks on DA to practice on.

And Feto is next to me, lol. She's playing League of Legends, I think. I'm actually sleepy.. I might end up going to bed here soonish.

Helsinki Harlot 10-07-2012 01:48 AM

Well I'm glad I gave another perspective. 'Cause I've done a few years of art shit in college and nothing has helped me more than tracing shapes. The way that they make you do the circle, the cone, and the square is the same way you have to practice a human shape. Your hand has to get used to the movement. I draw women better than anything else because I've made myself draw skeletons, trace them, and then trace every shape of a female body to know how it should FEEL when you draw it. As long as you don't try and make a name for tracing stuff, I'm in the camp of tracing = practice. Because it really is. It's why people publish free line art to color so that you can get PRACTICE in.

Especially with a tablet it's way dif. than using a pencil. It feels different, you have to do way dif. things to get what you want on the screen. So practicing the sweeps on the tablet makes it easier to do it on your own. :)

And I'm sick so I prob. rambled to all hell. But yeah. It's a good thing to learn from. :) And her stock especially is very open to helping artists as long as you don't pretend you didn't have a ref or something.

And tell her hey and if you guys are going to bed good night. :)

Obsidian 10-07-2012 02:02 AM

Lol, no worries. I don't mind ramblers, I'm one myself but I'm so tired and yet I want to stay up. X]
I think it's more like "I don't want to go where I think I might be going in the morning" and just don't want to sleep. >.>

Doin pretty good! Figured I've been disappeared long enough, I'd poke myself back in, lol. I tried to do that quite a few times but I'd post then forget that I have. Just been extremely busy around here.

Should blow regardless. Bloody noses have several causes and is nothing to be worried about unless it's quite frequent.

If you done anything what I sometimes do.. When I blow my nose, I'll blow, then wrap my finger in the napkin and dig for gold that clings to the nose when you attempt to dislodge it via blowing (I know, nasty, but not uncommon) and sometimes, I'll scratch myself and cause nose bleeds.

Asami 10-07-2012 03:15 PM

glad you're back<3333
I need to check on zanny. My art contest is ending soon

I barely interact on Zantarni anymore. I'm tired of everything being mage-themed.

Tho, my items on Caecus finally got released. It's slowly attempting to 'revive' but at least they don't focus on only one thing.

Also, I just put in a new title request! X]
Changing it from Lost Soul to Too Sexy for a Shirt.

Hehe, I don't mind the wait. ^-^
I figured the Too Sexy for a Shirt matched me better than Lost Soul cause it seems anytime I change my avatar, I never put a shirt on, lol. That's one thing I love about Trisphee. We have the freedom of being somewhat of a nudist, but not go overboard with it too much (if I read the rules correctly).

Ultima 10-07-2012 03:55 PM

There are many things I love about Trisphee. Such as the layering, no limit on how many items you can be wearing, the huge color palette, the friendliness of everyone, the fact that staff actually communicates with users and don't act like they are gods (and expect to be treated as such), the beautiful art, and so much more <3

Maybe I'm just biased, but Trisphee is the only avatar site that I didn't give up on. I've been here two years and plan to stay for as long as I can X3

-ahem-
[/ramble]

Helsinki Harlot 10-07-2012 04:07 PM

I don't have a lot of brain going on right now.

But yeah. In my past I had a bit of a stint with something that would explain nosebleeds but nothing major. Not enough to make an actual problem,. But this is the third time in all my life that I've had a massive nosebleed when sick. And I haven't changed the way I blow my nose. x.x

I'm 90% sure it'll be fine. It happens. Blown cappi... whatever the hells especially when you're sick. I'm just worried because this doesn't happen to me regularly. (Until recently I guess.)

Yes! Those too. X]
Agree 100%. If more sites were more like this, they'd be successful. I think that Trisphee could replace GaiaOnline one of these years. *nods*

Could be a hereditary problem. I hear some people tend to get nosebleeds during a cold and that it was passed down from child-to-child.

Yeah idk after I got into tris I hate how restrictive zantarni is and how lame their color pallet is. I mean seriously I wish all commons came in every color like they do here. And the avatars are so small and don't have enough details lol.

O: those look awesome

Feto 10-07-2012 06:08 PM

Sorry I logged to play League of legends after I posted that heh. I'm doing good how is everyone?

Thanks!

Yeah, I hate how restrictive they are as well. I understand that they wish to stay in 'medieval' and fantasy times, but hell, you can create your own unique form of 'medieval, fantasy' without it not looking outside medieval theme. There's just too many items genderized which both genders could be seen wearing. I've even seen movies set in medieval, fantasy times that a female wore what the men wore back then. Didn't mean it didn't make it medieval or not.
And to roll around the mage-themed items.. They need to focus more on the archer and warrior classes as well. Tell me if I'm just not noticing it, but here's the general make of the items:
  1. General-themed: 45% of the items
  2. Mage-themed: 40% of the items
  3. Warrior-themed: 10% of the items
  4. Archer-themed: 5% of the items

Espy 10-07-2012 06:36 PM

Is Zantarni based on RPG classes, or...?

@espy kinda. Its hard to explain but yeah don't look into it x'D

I'm still adjusting to the multiple shades on commons, I get choice overload so easily.

Sort of. You have 1 of three classes to choose from when you first join; Archer, Mage or Warrior.
And the site has been through 3 or 4 different owners since then and so the entire classes are unfinished, but they still have it active. So my thing was if they were keeping the classes, then even out the items between each class. Whether it was one month donated for Mages, then do a month donated to Archers, another month for Warriors. But they don't do that.. They'll do occasional Archers+Warriors a month here and there, Warriors a week or two there, Mages 3 months in a row and it's just so unorganized IMO. If they aren't going to do that, I just don't see why they don't just take out the classes all together and that solves that problem, but they keep the classes active.

Yeah, the palette here is just gorgeous and well thought-out it seems. And I love the donation items lately. Honestly, this months favorite for me in the DI/MI shop (I forget what you guys call it here, lol) would have to be the one currently sold for Aurum; Bone Stitched.

Espy 10-07-2012 07:03 PM

Batty is amazing in general.

Eeeeh. I dislike any RPG-based site or game that doesn't have a rogue-like option. I mean, I guess archer kind of works, but...not...really.
