Oh Hi Ginger! How are you? It's been ages since the last time I visited this place, I see that there has been many changes since then. So how's the charity doing?

The charity's funds are looking good because the event has the boats I can claim 3 times per hour and since aurum is winnable I've been getting a lot of it. That account has gotten 10k from claiming those boats.

Aside from funds, we haven't gotten many applications. Every thread dies and looks like our time is just about up. I've thought about just donating whatever to whomever but I dunno where to start considering how much the account has in terms of items and aurum, also I don't think that would go over too well with those who have donated to the charity.

I really hope this thread doesn't die, I'm a big fan of helping people out and on other sites held many charities. So I really hate to see them die. I think you guys are stellar for doing this and keeping it going this long, just remember it's only getting slow because the site isn't well known.

By the way, I'm Kali, I hope to be allowed to chat in here often and keep this lovely idea alive!

I've found even the slightest spark of hope in a slowly dying thread is often the main reason it will stay afloat.

Mostly what is does everyone mean when they talk about the boat thing? That's the one thing that's confusing me profusely at the moment.

Oh, in the lower right corner there's a button that says "Play Spirit's Farewell" It's a little giveaway thing, and you can collect three boats per hour there :3 There's event items, and commons, and Aurum as prizes.

Kali - I dunno. I just feel like a certain user is putting down the charity, all because I thought it was a good idea to charge 300 aurum for a while since the charity's event items and funds were very low at the time. We have a TON of items now however thanks to this event and the last one and we are no longer be charging. But with the 300 aurum, users got their aurum-worth and WAY more. I think this certain user just needs to back off. He doesn't run everything around here and he certainly does not run me. Yes, he can ruin the charity's reputation and that's pretty much what he has done.

I appreciate this thread and the ideas it stands for.

Also if someone finds the need to put the thread down even though you were doing what was necessary and still giving awesome prices, then let them.

If it were needed I would tell others about this thread if only to give them a great place to hang out and to help keep it alive!

Well Ginger, it's not like I don't under stand what that user's saying, but on the other hand it's YOUR charity, and it should be up to the visitors to the charity to decide if it's fair or not. Personally, I would have thought it's fair. Even if it's not free, selling things at a VERY low price is still charity, no matter what that user thinks.

Serra gives a good point. It's your charity and you get to decide what to do with it. If it were necessary, I would have paid due to the simple fact of it is completely fair in price.

This charity helped me a lot when I started. There wasn't anything to get easily because it was between events, and no token shop either. So I kinda felt flat and plain in the starter outfit and was a little intimidated to post. Then I got a donation from here and didn't feel so "cookie cutter" anymore, so I was more comfortable getting out there and talking.

I understand how that is, I used to be like that, then I found out I was much more comfortable if I went ahead and started my quest thread. It also helped me to get the things I wanted/needed to look better.

This is my first avatar site and basically only the second forum I actively posted on so I was quite intimidated until I got started. I hardly posted at all the first month even...

I wish I had found this site before all the others, not going to name them, but most of them are now money hungry or either filled with noobish people who do nothing but ask for donations.

I'm actually proud of myself for posting as much as I have within the first two days. Normally I lurk for like a week before really posting much other than my quest and newbie thread.

I know of a few other places, but I'd say I was kind of an introvert until a few years ago anyways.

Yeah, I get that. I was really self-conscious and had almost no self-esteem until a few days ago. I ended up having a massive break down and realizing that I was better than that.

I shouldn't backslide, I mean I'm pretty sure I did some brain damage with what I did during my breakdown. So yeah. But that's another reason I wanted to get back in the swing of avatar sites because it means I can talk to someone without feeling as though I'm being judged.

But yeah, not sure exactly why it says that, I would much rather it say something less bizarre.
