Spaghetti squash gets its name because of how stringy it is.

I like eggplant as long as enough moisture has been removed.

Vivianne 10-17-2019 06:02 PM

Maybe that’s the problem with our eggplant. It gets cooked until it’s really moist and soft and unappetizing.

I’ve never actually had appetizing eggplant, though.

mdom 10-17-2019 06:45 PM

Deep fried eggplant is edible xDD
Or as lasagna. Hmmm maybe it's the cheese

Biomecha 10-17-2019 07:04 PM

It's pretty good roasted. Keeps it from absorbing too much moisture and brings out some of the sweetness.

You might like moussaka, mdom. It has variations with potato and eggplant and is somewhat similar to lasagna.

mdom 10-17-2019 07:12 PM

Hmm... seems delicious
or does it seem delicious because it's close to dinner time???

Vivianne 10-17-2019 07:12 PM

Cheese makes everything better!

My mom steams eggplant, I think. She hasn’t cooked it in a while.

Biomecha 10-17-2019 07:20 PM

Baba ghanoush is also good, has eggplant. Steamed eggplant sounds like it wouldn't be ideal, considering how absorbant it is. Unless it was being mixed with other things.

Vivianne 10-17-2019 07:36 PM

It had some kind of Chinese sauce as well. I hated the texture.

It felt softer than we make our zucchini. The eggplant really looked like a mess, though.

mdom 10-17-2019 07:39 PM

ugh steamed eggplant makes our whole house smell @_@

Vivianne 10-17-2019 07:51 PM

Well now you know you weren’t just hungry because it’s close to dinner. XD

Biomecha 10-17-2019 08:36 PM

Eggplant can always look messy it seems.

But what I don't get is how people like okra. Not only is it fuzzy, but it's like mucus on the inside when cooked.

Vivianne 10-17-2019 08:45 PM

I’m sort of okay with okra, but I haven’t actually eaten it in at least ten years, so I can’t actually defend it.

I’m not sure how it’s normally prepared, but I don’t recall either fuzziness or mucus. If I’m remembering correctly, it was a tad flavorless.

Biomecha 10-17-2019 08:54 PM

Have you tried cactus? Whenever I see it at the store, I'm curious to try it. But it is already slimy in the packaging and I wind up changing my mind.

Vivianne 10-17-2019 08:58 PM

No, I haven’t. I almost tried bitter melon but realized that wouldn’t end well as I generally dislike bitterness.

Persimmons are kind of slimy, but they’re great.

Biomecha 10-17-2019 09:27 PM

Ohh, persimmons are one of my favorite fruits. Some varieties like to trick you into thinking they are overripe when they are actually perfect at that point.

mdom 10-17-2019 09:37 PM

Nooo persimmon it's very different from okra xD
okra feels like... nsfw stuff I won't say xD BUT EVEN MORE GROSS FOR SOME REASON.

Biomecha 10-17-2019 10:03 PM

I'll still never forgive my father for throwing out the most perfect batch of persimmons because he thought they had gone bad.

There might be a good way to prepare okra. School lunches may not be the best way to form an opinion on them.

mdom 10-17-2019 10:11 PM

Nooo D: they're just soft!! My parents love them, probably because Japanese brought them to Brazil

there isn't!! it's disgusting!! I mean, my mom likes it. What about deep fried

Biomecha 10-19-2019 07:03 PM

Maybe deep fried might dissolve all the mucus away. I can't remember what the texture or flavor was like for the rest of it.

mdom 10-21-2019 01:36 PM

I can only remember the mucus, also

aqsdahdasjkdhjkashkd can't believe I missed out on seeing Angela Davis speak because musical theater scheduled something and then canceled
the lack of profissionalism smh

Biomecha 10-21-2019 07:24 PM

That's unfortunate. Did they not post about it anywhere?

mdom 10-21-2019 07:43 PM

Post? I wish, one girl said this morning! That she had gotten an appointment today at the time of the rehearsal and the dance teacher said it was better to have everyone and not miss anyone.

Biomecha 10-21-2019 08:39 PM

I guess she doesn't realize other people have their own schedules to deal with and that any changes can be a big deal? Does she get upset if people miss class?

mdom 10-21-2019 09:24 PM

I wish the missing girl had told us with 24h of antecedence or something

the prof later said her uncle died so it was good that the class was canceled

Biomecha 10-21-2019 10:10 PM

Ah, so it was actually justified? Or was the missing girl the reason it was cancelled since everyone needed to be there?

mdom 10-21-2019 10:15 PM

The missing girl was the reason it was cancelled, later in the day the dance teacher gave us the sad news.
But overall we're just unhappy |D with everything

Biomecha 10-21-2019 10:22 PM

Ah, at first I thought the teacher cancelled without notice. Hopefully the girl learned to not make that mistake again, if anything.

mdom 10-21-2019 10:29 PM

Yeah, same. I'm mostly upset because I could've seen Angela Davis!!! u.u

anyway that's not a super hard number

Moi 10-25-2019 12:27 AM

Just checking in to say hi and that I haven't forgotten about this site (nor you, mdom <3 ). A lot has been going on over here in the last week, so I'm trying to power through that.
But yeah. Off I go, take care, much love!

btw, mdom, your avi is super awesome!

mdom 10-25-2019 01:02 AM

Mrow! Thank you!

Hope things are going better there, with the energy and everything!

Moi 10-25-2019 02:19 AM

You're welcome!

We're not having that issue over here. I think it's parts of Southern California and an area north of us that are having that power issue again.
What I'm dealing with over here is a lot more personal. >__<

mdom 10-25-2019 09:00 AM

Oh nooo D:
well, you know I'm here for you! I'm sending you good wishes from across the hemisphere!

Moi 10-25-2019 04:40 PM

Thanks, mdom <3 you are awesome!

mdom 10-25-2019 06:21 PM

Aww, you are!

I'm... awesomdom |D

Moi 10-25-2019 07:35 PM

>.>
mdom, you are awesomdom. :D Is that better? :D

Biomecha 10-25-2019 08:23 PM

mdom: That sucks that you missed out on Angela Davis. Her name is familiar, but I don't really know much about her. She's a human rights activist?

mdom 10-25-2019 10:56 PM

That's perfect! And you're awesoMoi!

Bio, she's a former black panther and current intersectional feminist activist. Toni Morrison, the author, was her editor!

Biomecha 10-25-2019 11:33 PM

Ah, so all around badass. The type that actually tries to make change happen instead of whining that there should be change.

mdom 10-26-2019 08:30 PM

yes! She's amazing and she even brought up the fact that back then there weren't many women in the black panther movement like it should

Biomecha 10-26-2019 08:54 PM

I imagine it was even harder then to be a part of it, with how scary people reacted.
