*Hugs the Tam*

$100 is a bit overmuch...

ml1201 01-07-2016 12:12 PM

Well, with it having all the details it does and also being custom made along with the quality that's bond to happen. T-T It's not cheap to make...

Tam I am 01-07-2016 03:25 PM

Yay, hugs!

It's always nice to find a good dollmaker online. Even the ones that just give you a digital picture, if they have the right stuff, are fun.

Behold the meanest old lady ever RPed!

ml1201 01-07-2016 11:09 PM

Where did you make that? :o

Lawtan 01-07-2016 11:48 PM

I'd stick with the high detail plastic. Pretty dang paintable, and less expensive.

ml1201 01-08-2016 09:09 AM

I've worked with the type of plastic they seemed to be showing, and you can't paint it for s**t because the paint peels right off, even with sealent! I should know, the wizard I painted and sealed got a paint chip that came off, taking off the sealing layer and the two layers of paint, revealing the plastic underneath. >_> That was the Bones mini, which that one looked like. Now if it were the plastic used for things like the 40k minis that would be fine, but a custom made one in that material probably costs $40-50 instead of $20-30 for it.

Thanks! She's my Storm Lord, from 'Dragon Tavern'. I made the picture on one of the avatar makers at Rinmaru Games. I kinda wish there was an option to make the ladies smaller in the chest, but at least they include muscles, and as you see, old lady wrinkles!

Here's the friend she's going to kick crazy wood elf butt with:

ml1201 01-08-2016 03:58 PM

Why are the wood elves crazy? XD And she looks cool too!

Den 01-08-2016 07:10 PM

*rubs hands together gleefully* Let me show you, ML. Tam and I have been writing these stories for several years now.

ml1201 01-09-2016 01:08 AM

That's a lot you guys have done. o.o;

yeah... We've been writing together since 2008... and that's just one of the 'verses we write together. One of these days, I'm going to make a big chart to keep track of everything.

Because the game creators made them that way! Oh wait. Actually, I think it's the... moon elves? Who are the crazy cultists, Den?

The wood elves. Our moon elves are crazy because they're played by two crazy ladies. lol

ml1201 01-09-2016 06:30 PM

lol, I guess as long as you two are having fun it doesn't matter. XD

Tam I am 01-09-2016 09:06 PM

Right! Yes. The wood elves want to catch people and sacrifice 'em to otherworldly horrors.

trystan830 01-09-2016 09:15 PM

that avi style looks familiar, Tam! =)

Tam I am 01-09-2016 10:36 PM

LMBO. Yeah. That one was done on the old UF.

trystan830 01-09-2016 10:38 PM

well it's cool. =)

ml1201 01-09-2016 10:50 PM

That style is still on the new one though. XD

trystan830 01-09-2016 10:55 PM

yeah, it is, ml. =)

but uni is down right now for some reason.

Tam I am 01-10-2016 03:58 PM

Plus it's a pain in the neck to do anything on. Though I finally got all three avatars up and named.

Lawtan 01-10-2016 07:53 PM

Here's a four minute thing. Mishipesu vs. Animikii

(though part of the initial myth to my knowledge is that initially the group of water spirits were hostile to human civilization, and the thunderbirds were the ones to drive them back)

Den 01-11-2016 03:40 AM

Guys, the world lost a great artist on the 10th. David Bowie's son confirmed the bad news. David Bowie has passed away, after battling cancer...

His music helped me get through a really rough patch about ten years ago... Godspeed, Ziggy Stardust.

trystan830 01-11-2016 10:53 AM

i saw that, Den. *cries*

i love his music.

ml1201 01-11-2016 11:51 AM

NO!!! I've loved him since I was a kid! (I loved watching the Labyrinth!). He had just put out a new album recently, didn't he?

trystan830 01-11-2016 12:00 PM

he was awesome as Jareth!!

and yes, i did see in an article that he'd just released a new album on Jan 8th.... (three days ago)... which was also his birthday.

Tam I am 01-11-2016 04:06 PM

So the animation student got the story backward?

Law, here's a book for the library. It's pretty good.

Wow. No more Unistuffs. So much for the RP I'd just been working on starting.

WOW. Just saw the David Bowie stuff. RIP, Jareth.

Lawtan 01-11-2016 04:52 PM

already in there :D

I don't actually know David outside of Labyrinth...
*offers people hugs*

ml1201 01-11-2016 07:39 PM

I don't either to be honest, and to think the guy who was supposed to play the Goblin King refused because it was a kids movie (or something to that affect anyways) and then Bowie volunteered. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

trystan830 01-11-2016 07:42 PM

i didn't know that, ml! but i'm glad David Bowie was Jareth! =)

ml1201 01-12-2016 05:17 PM

Yeah, my friend told me that, he's really into watching movies and stuff, especially B movies. But he also likes looking up random facts about them too. XD And a guy at work annoyed me today, when I told him about Bowie he said 'oh, he finally overdosed.' Like really? Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but him dying doesn't actually mean he did that. >.< He assumes all famous people die that way. >_>;

Should've told him "Assuming makes an ass out of u and me". :/ But according to news reports, it was related to the cancer he was battling...

Yay!

And yeah. That's what I knew him from. And I know two other characters in other movies that I think were inspired by Jareth.

The Grouch Queen on 'Elmo in Grouchland' definitely. And Tina Turner's character in 'Mad Max and the Thunderdrom' less definitely.

trystan830 01-12-2016 06:54 PM

i haven't seen either, actually, but i could see Tina Turner's character, yeah.... but 'Beyond Thunderdom' was out in 1985, Labyrinth was 1986....

ml1201 01-13-2016 12:06 AM

That's what it was! Well, I'll tell him tomorrow when I see him that's what the cause of death was. Sheesh, I mean granted I tend to not like celebs because they do drugs, but I don't usually think thy do drugs until I see things they do.

Ohhh. So Jareth might have been more based on her character.

Trash Queen.
