Tam I am 12-21-2015 11:41 PM

I've only found one cat once. ...After Den had already given it to me.

trystan830 12-21-2015 11:48 PM

kitties are silly!

Tam I am 12-22-2015 12:09 AM

And how.

trystan830 12-22-2015 12:19 AM

i have two such silly, furry overlords. =)

Den 12-22-2015 12:30 AM

We have two furry terrorists. One happens to be a ten pound brat who has licked all the fur off of part of his belly and a couple spots on his tail. The other one is a five pound ball of 'tude and clumsiness.

trystan830 12-22-2015 12:34 AM

Blackie is my 12-pound, 10-year-old kitten. he's also a psychotic goofball.

Max is a tuxedo kitty who looks like he has a sneer and is built like a little 12-pound tank.

but i love my furry Masters, i do.

ml1201 12-22-2015 01:15 AM

Thank you Law for the snowflakes! Forgot to thank you in the other thread. ^^;

Tam I am 12-22-2015 02:02 AM

I must be a weirdo. When I had cats I was always the boss.

trystan830 12-22-2015 11:27 AM

well, i try to tell the cats what to do, and want them to come when i call so i can pet them.... they just don't listen.

but yet, they meow, and we feed them or let them outside.... it seems to me a lopsided relationship.

Den 12-22-2015 07:29 PM

Cats were not domesticated. They domesticated us.

Tam I am 12-22-2015 08:16 PM

LOL

Most the cats I've ever known were barn cats who were grateful to have somebody to go to for a little extra food and ear skritches. The exception was a part Siamese, fluffy kitten who only wanted to be loved and who wanted to do whatever I was doing. She had such a different sort of character from the barn cats. Even at their friendliest they always had a way about them that said that they weren't entirely sure of me. Ophelia never questioned that I would love her. The one day I lightly swatted her she was totally confused.

daikokunyo 12-23-2015 06:30 AM

That's so sweet *squees* that's different from most cats I've met in that they'll go off on their own after their stomach's full.

Den 12-23-2015 08:02 AM

Our two cats are a bit uncertain about me most of the time... The older one will let me pick him up and cuddle for a while, but the younger one squirms and struggles most of the time when she's held. It kinda bugs Mom because we just want to love on the doofus.

Lawtan 12-23-2015 03:18 PM

My experience reflects Tam's mostly. Then again, that's because my cat(s) are barn cats.
Biggest thing is that some we adopted from the streets (as opposed to the shelter), and they hide all the time because they don't want to go to the vet. (And don't like being made to behave)

Tam I am 12-23-2015 04:36 PM

We had one house cat turned barncat when I was a kid, and poor Amanda was very attached to me. She was also a mighty hunter that went for big game.

Ophelia would gladly have snuggled in my lap any time I was sitting, or followed me around when I was up. She even wanted to take showers with me, but the slippery tub wigged her out.

Den 12-23-2015 05:23 PM

our youngest is a rescue. she escaped from the shed that the neighbor kids were keeping her in 'cause their mom didn't want them to have a kitten... and she wandered up a couple houses to our neighbor's bushes back in April, where Mom was doing yardwork.

Tam I am 12-23-2015 08:43 PM

Itty bitty pity kitty of d'oh agogo. Is she still as ditzy?

Den 12-23-2015 08:44 PM

And how. She's so clumsy sometimes, it's like she doesn't know how to cat. The other night, I pulled out the chair she was laying on in the kitchen so I could try and pet her, and she rolled right off of it and landed on the floor with a thump while trying to get away.

Tam I am 12-23-2015 11:13 PM

Can she see and hear alright?

Den 12-23-2015 11:37 PM

As far as we're able to tell, yes. But I sometimes notice that one of her eyes seems a little wonky.

Tam I am 12-27-2015 04:53 PM

Meep. That's not good.

Den 12-27-2015 05:56 PM

She's healthy, according to the vet.

Tam I am 12-27-2015 07:09 PM

Same vet that didn't sew her shut properly after her operation?

Den 12-27-2015 10:30 PM

Different one at the same office

Tam I am 12-28-2015 05:22 PM

Here's hoping this one knows what they're talking about.

Oh yeah. Library. BOOKS.

Guys, if you ever get a chance to grab a copy of '30-Second Elements', do it. Such an interesting book! Did you know there's estimated to be only an ounce of francium in the Earth's mantel?

Lawtan 12-28-2015 11:29 PM

Makes sense. Francium is one of the most reactive chemicals with the stuff that makes up the lively Earth, and is a less stable element.

But I'll look it up when I can :D

Den 12-29-2015 06:59 AM

Just checking in from the boyfriend's house. Woke up with a migraine yesterday so I slept 'til about 11 am pst, then went to lunch with his parents and him. Today we're going out on an adventure to some gaming stores :)

And the lady that found it was an assistant to Marie Curie! She named it after her home country.

Potassium superoxide is also really really cool.

30-Second Elements.

Ooooo. Poke him to get something with a good story, that you can play along!

Or get 'Scary Girl'.

Den 12-29-2015 04:20 PM

lol well, I'm going to be controlling the monsters in his Pathfinder game on Friday, so there's that. :D

Tam I am 12-30-2015 06:48 PM

Not quite the same as playing a video game, but XD, still fun.

I really don't feel good.

Today I saw a cookbook for nerds. There was zombie brain cake.

Den 12-31-2015 05:42 AM

Braaaaaaaaaiiiiins. Lol the boyfriend and I went and saw Star Wars and then we went to Newport Beach. Tomorrow we'll be going to the San Diego zoo and then out to dinner with his family for the holiday

trystan830 12-31-2015 03:26 PM

yaay Star Wars!

i'm reading 'the Phantom of Menace' right now... and then back the Legacy of the Force series in my sig.

what did you think of the movie, Den? i saw it twice. =)

Tam I am 12-31-2015 03:58 PM

I've decided to pass on the movie. I know it's just an alternate reality to all the 'Extended Universe' books that I've read that are now officially non-canon, but meh. I only have time for that kind of stuff with Transformers.

trystan830 12-31-2015 04:01 PM

yaaay! someone else with similar thinking as me! i've been reading the EU since 2011, and i'm totally loving it.

there are pieces of the EU embedded in the movie - such as, when Kylo Ren first appeared on screen, he totally reminded me of Jacen Solo from the Legacy of the Force series that i'm currently reading (i've finished 7 out of the 9 books so far)

so i went to the movie with the opinion that the movie was the alternate 'verse and the EU is still my canon. =)

Tam I am 12-31-2015 04:10 PM

XD Well, there are parts I don't love. But I currently have a few SW derived OCs running around in my RP stuff who wouldn't exist but for the EU. Like the Keylendar lady who gained the name "Still Breathing" because she fought a space wasp who invaded her clan's ship, and when the others finally got the door open she was the only one doing so.

trystan830 12-31-2015 04:30 PM

heh, that's cool, Tam. =)

Tam I am 01-01-2016 04:53 PM

I mean, giant space bug? How can a weirdo like me not have fun with that? XD

*looks up at space wasp that just came to the library* Uh...

trystan830 01-01-2016 04:58 PM

i'll be back later if there's a space wasp in here....

Tam I am 01-01-2016 05:01 PM

0_0 I think she's here to read. *watches the bug take down a book and leaf through it*

trystan830 01-01-2016 05:12 PM

huh. well stranger things have happened....
