Does he want you to agree that everything won't be okay? There may not be a magical right thing to say.

mdom 11-03-2018 11:02 PM

It's like only his analyses of himself are correct, but he needs someone else to say them? But he quit therapy, so I'm the only person left. he needs a decent therapist.

Biomecha 11-03-2018 11:09 PM

Ah, does he have any interests at all? Even minor?

mdom 11-03-2018 11:25 PM

Uhn series, cats, languages. Comics.

Biomecha 11-03-2018 11:39 PM

At least that is something! It's not really on you to always pick him up, though. But it also probably sucks to feel helpless, I imagine?

My mother was bipolar, and I'm... whatever you would call it. So it's probably no where near the same, but similar in some ways. She was also, to put it bluntly, very suicidal. What helped her was making plans with anything that triggered the slightest interest, but also making it as easy as possible for her to do.

mdom 11-04-2018 12:23 AM

Yeah, it sucks that nothing I say ever helps. Why ever say anything then =/

He is probably schizophrenic, but he won't admit he has any mental issues :)))) it's very stressing for me to deal with his paranoia and insecurity WHEN HE COULD BE SEEING A SHRINK. I mean, he went to one once, but only mentioned anxiety due to work, as if he was a regular person.

Biomecha 11-04-2018 12:40 AM

Oof, that's super tough. Why does the brain have to be so cruel? Do you have to worry about being admitted against your will in Brazil?

mdom 11-04-2018 01:02 AM

Yeah why can't we just... supress everything and never blow up |D or use it against other people like psychopaths do. Noooo, we just suffer.
No, not really. They make tests and it's kinda easy to pretend to be normal |D You have to be like, really delirious. When I was at a mental health clinic they didn't want me there actually. Since I had money (middle class money, ofc) they couldn't see how I could be depressed :))))

Biomecha 11-04-2018 01:13 AM

Ah, I think it's different here but don't have first hand experience because I've been avoiding it at all costs. But the impression that I get is you have to worry about what you admit because of what can happen to your insurance or possibly being admitted. But the clinics seem to be more interested in profit than helping. So, they kick you out once they drain you. It could vary in different states.

mdom 11-04-2018 01:16 AM

I don't know if it varies from state to state, but AnotherMovieAddict has a 'free' (governmental?) counselor and gets medicine from a... uh hospital. Not paid. Or not expensive.

Biomecha 11-04-2018 01:29 AM

Are they in Texas? There could be some sort of service, but not really sure.

mdom 11-04-2018 01:35 AM

No, in Florida.
She says the meds help, so it must at least an ok service xD

Biomecha 11-04-2018 01:56 AM

Yeah, at least she got something that works. That's part if the fun, figuring out what does.

mdom 11-04-2018 02:07 AM

Yeah my bff was complaining his therapist wasn't very good and I told him I've been through several. He said he didn't wanted to do that, and I said... well... welcome to mental health yo. A lot of trial and error.

Biomecha 11-04-2018 02:14 AM

In a way, you could look at it as hiring someone for a job. Gotta find the one with the right qualifications for your needs.

mdom 11-04-2018 03:04 AM

True. Gotta interview many... many... many... people
