I like the "bubble" part ;), but I'm not as fond of the tea itself. My sister likes the smoothies you can get with the tapioca balls in them but I haven't tried them yet. We certainly don't have a shortage of bubble tea places around where I live. I hardly ever think to get one though. They're more expensive than I care to pay for right now.

My cream early grey tea that was sitting in a paper bag (the same kind of paper bag that held the suschong) tastes suspiciously smokey. -.-

Serena Yuy 03-30-2012 01:02 AM

I'm hoping my boyfriend will take us to the chinese food place that has the bubble tea coupon that I found. I really would like to get some.

Adagio 03-30-2012 02:12 AM

I'm very much a tea person Q // Q i especially love the bitter teas too c:
My favorites are genmai cha and jasmine tea xD I also enjoy english style tea and love attending tea parties for those ; /// ; <3 I'm not so much of a fan of iced teas though > v < i love jasmine milk tea as well when it's in a boba drink XD

Bucket 03-30-2012 07:39 AM

I'm a tea person! That's pretty much all I drink, too. However, I can't stand all the herbal teas and the fruit flavoured teas. I like a simple tea. Tea bag, milk and two sugars topped up with plenty of boiling water. C: If you know what a builder's tea is or what British tea is like, that's what I drink. My favourite brand is Tetley, mainly because of the little cartoon men in the adverts. I used to have a cup by that brand that sung as well as two little tea men toys. C:

Adagio 03-31-2012 12:21 AM

if anyone is looking for a good place to visit that sells tea adagio tea's is a good one to go to * v *
i just ordered my first shipment and still waiting for it to arrive XD but my friend has been buying a lot from them and she loves it c:

Quiet Man Cometh 04-01-2012 12:43 AM

That an online place or do the have stores around somewhere?

I've been checking out some new tea stores but price plays a big role at the moment. I'm broke, but got a good stockpile of tea going when I had money so I can sustain myself. ;)

My sister in law got me another tea steeper the other day. This one is a rose that stands up in the teacup, with the steeper on the bottom. I have it sitting next to my ducky. :)

Quiet Man Cometh 04-01-2012 12:43 AM

The double posts! They are attacking again!

Adagio 04-02-2012 05:58 AM

I think it's only an online store sadly ; 7 ; but otherwise it has a lot of selection i think * // * i ordered some last week and the shipment should come in today so i'm excited <33

Quiet Man Cometh 04-03-2012 10:31 PM

Online stores are hardly a problem, seeing as people in trisphee can be anywhere. Locally I have a teavana an not so locally, but still accessible, I have a DavidsTea. Never heard of Adagio before.

Serra Britt 04-03-2012 10:38 PM

I adore Teavana, but there aren't any close to me. For now though I found some catnip tea...and it's great for me XD

Quiet Man Cometh 04-03-2012 10:54 PM

Given how many self identified neko we have on tris, I'm never sure if I'm supposed to take catnip tea seriously or not. :(

Alyssia 04-05-2012 12:23 PM

I love going into tea shops!~ I like the atmosphere there and just the overall relaxed feel of the place. I'm drink all kinds of teas, and I adore blooming teas...for me they're just a really fun way to wind down after a long day. Have you ever tried corn or buckwheat tea? I've tried the former and its an acquired taste I think, but I do like it. I'm also really fond of fruit infused teas as they tend to remind me of home!

I do have coffee from time to time, but usually only when I need that boost it gives to get me through the rest of the day....but with that new Cold Stone Creamery Sweet Cream flavored & the York Peppermint Patty creamer I may be more apt to have a cup.

Serena Yuy 04-05-2012 06:22 PM

Omg I am soo happy. You know you're a major tea drinker when you get excited knowing that off of Stash's website, you can get a 30 tea bag box for just under $6 ^^

Serra Britt 04-05-2012 08:00 PM

@Quiet, It's real, it's basically tea bags filled with catnip ;)

@Serena, That sounds interesting..I may have to go check that out :3

Fauxreal 04-05-2012 08:43 PM

*wonders if this thread needs a party... a TEA party*

Quiet Man Cometh 04-06-2012 11:30 AM

Tea party! *throws butterfly green tea in the air to celebrate* (Don't waste it! It's expesive!)

Heading out to the farm in a few hours and I have my tea stash with me this time! Haha!

Cold Stone has creamer flavours? Or is it another company that makes them? My mom likes their sweet ceam icecream, though I haven't tried it myself. I go for cotton candy :D, or blueberry. Not my favourite ice cream though. Too dense for me. I like my good old bucket stuff :).

Fauxreal 04-10-2012 03:37 PM

oh - I'm not much for blueberry - but cotton candy... I dig that!

Quiet Man Cometh 04-10-2012 10:46 PM

Fauxreal is Jubilee, yes? :)

I want to get to my tea store so I can get some Assam Banaspaty tea (assuming that they have it). I love the stuff, but am not sure where to get it. From a particular estate in India or so I've heard. I had some at high tea in the loval Fairmont hotel here, and some came in my tea sampler from DavidsTea that I got for Christmas. I ran out of it a while ago. Assam is my favourite for general black tea types.

Serena Yuy 04-10-2012 10:51 PM

First chance I'm getting, I'm ordering tea off a website that I found awhile back. That and getting a new tea ball.

Quiet Man Cometh 04-10-2012 10:54 PM

I've never actually found a teaball that worked. I either use the individual bags that you fill yourself, or my novelty tea infusers (ducky and tea rose). They work pretty well. I guess the trick is not to overstuff and block the water from getting through.

Serena Yuy 04-10-2012 10:57 PM

Yeah, I actually liked the teaball I used to have. I guess it got lost when I moved. So, I need to get a new one.

Hex 04-10-2012 11:40 PM

I make my own teas quite often and write them down in a journal if I like how they turned out. If anyone is interested perhaps tomorrow I will rummage through and pick out a few favorites and post it on here for other teaball or tea infuser users to try out owo

MayChan 04-10-2012 11:50 PM

I use to work in a tea shop, and they have a variety of tea in clear jars. Some of them smelled very very fruity and nice. Though I do not like drinking tea at all.

Serena Yuy 04-11-2012 12:12 AM

I wish we had a tea shop near me for me to work at. Would be a much better job for me to deal with than working in fast food.

Quiet Man Cometh 04-11-2012 01:10 AM

That's like me and coffee May. I used to work at a Tim Horton's. I rarely drink coffee, perhaps one cup every few monghts on average unless it's Sunday dinner at my dad's house. I love the smell of dry coffee grounds though. Some teas do smell a lot better than they taste, I've found that on occasion.

Shohnightingale 04-13-2012 04:34 PM

my favorite tea come from a small shop in FT. Worth Texas called the spice exchange they have the best empereor's chi tea

little side note

Did you know chi tea has black pepper and licorice root?

Vicious Whisper 04-13-2012 05:47 PM

Making your own tea sounds crazy to me!

Shohnightingale 04-13-2012 05:58 PM

it isn't crazy, its rather fun, my cousin and i make tea all the time, shes a herbologist and has full flavored and rich ingredents on hand, we love rose& hibiscus tea

Quiet Man Cometh 04-14-2012 09:22 PM

I've never really thought much of mixing teas, though the idea seems easy enough. I routinely mix yerba mate with an herbal tea to help my stomach since straight yerba gets to me a little. I was considering adding some of my lapsang suchong tea to a half bag of plain blac tea that I had to make up the remainder. Suchong for me is a bit much on it's own.

I had some stovetop chai at a fundraiser for an Indian school at my univeristy once (all you could eat pakoras and some neon orange sugar desert thing for $2!). It was make on a portable stovetop in milk with spices from any food store. I asked the girl there where she got the recipe. She said she just grabbed one of the net that looked good. Apparently chai tea is one of those things where many people have their own ways of making it.

I've had various tea bag chai and chai at Indian restaurants and does very. Some bag chai is heavy on the cinnamon and cloves. The chai I had at my dad's favourite Indian restaurant had lots of cardamom in it. I haven't encountered one with licorish in it (at least that I could taste). I usually default to Stash brand Chai for bags. It's sweeter than some and I like the cloves. The Double Spice Chai is a little overboard though. Stings my nose when I open the packet.

Shohnightingale 04-14-2012 09:42 PM

oRlY? thats cool that the tea varies from place to place but its equally annoying because they don't taste the same and you might like it from one place and hate it from another

Quiet Man Cometh 04-14-2012 09:47 PM

I imagine it's like how one chocolate chip cookie tastes different from another. People have their own recepies according to their own tastes.

Shohnightingale 04-14-2012 09:50 PM

i suppose thats true but i have never met a chocolate cookie that i haven't liked

Echo-chan713 04-14-2012 10:16 PM

I like chocolate cookies with the peanut butter chips...like Reese's cookies 8D

Shohnightingale 04-14-2012 10:23 PM

i like cupcakes with cookies at the bottom

Fauxreal 04-20-2012 03:07 PM

I like pastries more.

Shohnightingale 04-20-2012 06:53 PM

ooh what kind of pastry is your favorite Faux?

Quiet Man Cometh 04-20-2012 10:27 PM

Pavlova! Does that count as a pastry? (Is more of cake person).

Serena Yuy 04-20-2012 10:59 PM

Depends on the sweet for me ^^

I'm happy, I may get some tea tomorrow ^^

Shohnightingale 04-21-2012 03:10 AM

i'm going to the spice and tea exchange tommorow its a wonderful store full of cooking and herbal needs

Quiet Man Cometh 04-22-2012 11:09 PM

Sigh. School work to do, some laundry, kinda tired feeling, and usual daily woes. It's a special tea day. :). Have my shimmering black tea my friend gave me for my birthday. And life goes on.
