Chickens are adorable. ;w;
and their eggs taste different depending on what you feed them. :] I think.

littl3chocobo 06-06-2020 09:22 AM

did you know some breeds of chicken lay blue eggs?

Merskelly Metalien 06-07-2020 11:36 PM

Yyyyyyes I did. :]
Did you also know some breeds of pigeon pose and walk like chickens and also turkeys? x}

Biomecha 06-11-2020 12:50 AM

I've seen the blue and green chicken eggs for sale around here.

We get all kinds of bird visitors. The woodpeckers are kind of cool but can be obnoxious. Hummingbirds get really territorial so you usually hear them dive bombing as they try to chase each other away from the feeder.

Merskelly Metalien 06-12-2020 12:23 PM

:] Where I live, I'm not sure what common birds would be considered super rare sights elsewhere. We have woodpeckers around national parks and the mountains. And humming birds come around wherever they can get nectar from flowers. ^-^
In San Gabriel valley area I always saw and heard the wild parrots flying by. :o They're green and loud but about the size of a little pigeon.
Also, there are pelicans on the piers of the beaches. X) And in the mountians where my dad lives I've seen stellars jays and robins. :)

littl3chocobo 06-15-2020 02:52 AM

oh wow, that is a lot of birds! heeck

Merskelly Metalien 06-15-2020 01:54 PM

>w< We got alotta state in California!
<xD Pretty much every terrain and topography you can think of...and it might be thanks to both earthquakes and fires. 8/
But we got birds everywhere! XD

One of my favorite birds that lives around in grassy, well grown, garden-y places are black phoebes. eWe They're cute balls of fluff with tiny head crests and a white tummy. <3

I also saw one once chase a butterfly and brutally smack it to death before swallowing it whole. O-O; I mean, they are bug-eaters after all but, woah. Fluffy don't mess around!

littl3chocobo 06-15-2020 02:13 PM

looking at the pics they look like lil' bruisers, hahahaha

Merskelly Metalien 06-15-2020 02:41 PM

They make a little, "Tee HEE, Tee Hoo" call sometimes. eWe It's cute.
But most of the time, they just, "Chuup! Chuup!" places. x3

littl3chocobo 06-15-2020 04:26 PM

this is so cute i could almost start to like birds, hahaha x''D just what untill they go teeHEE teeHOO CHUMP!

Kory 06-15-2020 05:28 PM

I love birds! <3
I think they're so cute!

I like parrots because I like it when they talk and sing!

littl3chocobo 06-15-2020 11:21 PM

some dogs can sing and talk too(though i suppose it is a lot more limited)

Biomecha 06-16-2020 12:32 AM

I had a dog that would sing and dance. But it was more woo-wooing while wiggling his butt and stepping forward a few steps and back a few steps several times. All while holding a toy in his mouth.

Merskelly Metalien 06-16-2020 01:09 PM

>w> Dogs are adorable when they woo-woo.
<x} ?? Not sure why they do it though when they're around musical instruments sometimes.

Panda 06-21-2020 06:41 AM

The site is so dead now T.T

Merskelly Metalien 06-21-2020 01:53 PM

I'm sorry Panda. ;_;
I think I was one of the "Mambo Number 5"s of this site. I haven't been online as often as I'd like, due to increasing loneliness..

Kory 06-23-2020 08:30 PM

Hey friends,

I am so so sorry I've been MIA lately. :(
I feel like a really bad friend. >n<

I've been having some drama in life lately,
And to be honest, I really just didn't feel like pretending to be happy and talking with friends.

But I'm going to try to be a bit of a better friend.
I don't want to abandon good friends and then get upset and wonder why they move on without me.
>n<

How's everyone today?

Merskelly Metalien 06-23-2020 11:10 PM

Honestly, you're not alone in that Ava.
<:'}
I always feel like I'm such a bad friend, even though I've been told it's not true.
<:c But since I've been told I'm a bad friend for like, 7 years, consistently, by the person I pretty much decided was more important than anything else...it's tough to believe otherwise.

But you're not a bad friend. <:} It's tough to be there for someone when you are still struggling with other things..
<:c Feels like you're letting someone down, but it isn't so.

I'm doing ok. <:] Got some writing I'm doing. Trying to write consistently all week long, and so far, ^_^ I've written 12 chapters for my fantasy story. I will need to fix them, but I'm at least getting them done I think. <:T
Other than that, I'm mostly dreading the fall semester being online, and moping about my current still jobless situation. TT-TT And feeling rather alone..

littl3chocobo 06-24-2020 12:57 AM

shooooot, i would say whine, cry, complain, bitch, bicker and fuss! noone asks for perfection and ideal sweetness, you won't be thought less of here<3 we care ^^

Merskelly Metalien 06-26-2020 12:32 PM

:] Exactly.
Like, today,
>8{ I feel grumpy because I haven't eaten breakfast yet, and also,
>x{ because I feel like everybody around me is so much bigger and taller they expect me to be so fast and busy but hey!
Hey yo! >x/ I'm like a teeny crab in a king spider crab world!
>8/ Y'all don't expect me to hustle around with my tiny legs and somehow keep up with everybody else making huge ass strides with their enormous stilt legs, do ya?
>X{ No! It's impossible, and also extremely stressing! So I'm gonna scuttle around at my own pace!
>H< I don't care if I'm too slow. >8{ I am doing my best despite my 1/2 foot footsteps and with what little energy I have. S-so there!

littl3chocobo 06-26-2020 07:38 PM

....that was much too cute

Merskelly Metalien 06-27-2020 02:03 AM

<x]
It's a blurse I never asked for.
*shrug*
Said it once, I'll say it again...
._. I'm too cute for my own good. It's bound to get me into trouble..again.
=~=; I'm like a funny lazy babe but somebody took a shrink ray to me and forgot to shrink my eyes.

Kory 06-27-2020 09:36 PM

Now on, I will always be reminded of baby crabs when I see Merskelly around
OwO

And I'm not mad about it.

Merskelly Metalien 06-28-2020 02:42 PM

xD Good gracious my legs aren't nearly as tiny! Though I do have a lot of spares... <8/ so probably as numerous, if not more. <x}
But the old addage still rings true!
-U- the smaller you are,
>8{ the more you threaten to pinch!
And snip snap!
>x} and annoy others with your crazy raving.

Although I once had a couple of little hermit crab, as those are so cute and most relatable. <x}
They didn't look like this, but they were still cute lil' crustaceans.

Biomecha 06-29-2020 11:22 PM

At first it looked like they had knitted shell cozys and that seemed like a really neat idea. Grandma crabs crawling about shoo-ing away the kids.

Merskelly Metalien 07-01-2020 09:55 PM

<x'D Hehehe,
I can't unsee that little hermit crab as a granny crab now.

Kory 07-07-2020 11:33 PM

Hey friends!

Sorry I've been MIA again. >n<
So much has been going on!

I've had some doctors' visits and I have been just crazy busy with other ventures!
I'm in an online improv class also, and things are slowly opening up again here...
It's hard to keep up with my online forums and discord servers! ;-;

Those krebs are cute, tho OwO

littl3chocobo 07-08-2020 03:40 AM

online improv? OwO tell us about it??

Kory 07-08-2020 07:09 PM

It's a super fun class!
A few of us get together with the owner of our local improv theater (it's closed since Corona has mostly everything shut down right now)

And we go over some games and it's really fun because it's almost like we get to direct our own mini-movies via our webcams! I have so much fun in class. >u<
I've met some cool people also, but I am longing for the day the theater opens again so I can physically see and touch (not inappropriately! >:T) the other members in my class.

It's fun seeing them on a screen, but I'm a person that likes seeing people in the flesh also... at least when it comes to acting. As far as friends go, I don't mind if I never see my friends' in person. Although, it's always been awesome AF the times I have met online friends IRL.

Biomecha 07-08-2020 08:59 PM

I've always seen imorov classes as being really good for intelligent people. And it's really useful to help improve a lot of other skills, so it seems like the sort of thing a lot of people can benefit from.

littl3chocobo 07-09-2020 05:58 AM

well try not to be too eager. places where restrictions are lifted often see an uptick in people getting ill

Kory 07-09-2020 01:33 PM

I think improv has helped me in conversations.
I know it sounds silly, but I have a hard time (always have) with small talk,
I feel like one of the major rules of improv known as "Yes, and..." has helped me get a little bit better with impromptu small talk.

"Yes, and..." basically forces you to listen to what the other person is saying. In improv, though, if someone says something like, "You know, I went to the lakes the other day and they were filled with jelly"... Instead of saying, "No, that's not true" you'd say, "Yes, and... I fell into the jelly and somehow bruised my belly button" Or something like that. :)

Ideally, you never want to shut the other person down by saying "No". It should always be "Yes, and..." Because that shows both people in the best light and makes it much easier for the conversations to grow into more hilarity.

<3

Biomecha 07-09-2020 08:49 PM

Not silly at all, a lot of people do struggle with it. I was pretty mute in general most of my life around everyone but my parents. Even online, until recent years. And even then it's still a struggle.

I like how it forces you to listen to the other person and include what they were saying in order to proceed. Probably a good percentage of the population would benefit from that alone.

littl3chocobo 07-10-2020 05:13 AM

ah, i remember 'yes, and?' though it has its own issues x''D if someone is speaking in a way that is problematic or cruel it can come off as encouraging them, it also can make some people become quite self-conscious and unwilling to talk to you at all if it is done too often

Merskelly Metalien 07-10-2020 08:21 PM

>u> One of my favorite games when we would do improve was
"change" because it forced me to think on the fly, of something completely different than what out skit was about.
<x'D Some of the most hilarious outcomes of our bits came from these games.
Things took wild and ridiculous turns with just a "change!"
<X}
"I baked this apple pie just for you Aunt Liv."
"Change!"
"Well this isn't REALLY pie, there's actually a bunch of underwear-"
"Change!"
"Ahhh, you can have this. I've been saving it for Christmas."
"It's not even September yet."
"I know. It's fruitcake pie, it's good whenever!"
"Change!"
"It's good for emergencies like family reunions."
"Change!"
"It's not for eating it's for...punching!" <x'D

Kory 07-12-2020 07:49 PM

Those are always really fun to do also!

Since our class has been online, most of the games we play are more character-driven.
Last class, we did a game based around the idea of "couple's therapy" or "marriage counseling". Me and one of the guys in the group have pretty good chemistry, so it was really fun for us to act like a couple that's been together a while. My character and his were newlyweds and our "problem" was that he couldn't keep a job. I know this sounds terrible, but I had a great time tearing him apart for not being able to keep a job. C:< It was fictional, though! So nobody had hurt feelings in the end. >n<

littl3chocobo 07-13-2020 08:14 AM

was his reason that he kept going feral and mauling customers? 'coz that seems like a perfectly good reason not to be able to work(the boy ought to go on benefits while he retrains)

Merskelly Metalien 07-13-2020 03:25 PM

<x'D I was a farmer character with a gambling problem once, and I guess in our skit, I was more upset that my brother farmer went to Vegas without me, than I was that he killed my wife, lol. We were digging her grave and arguing about why Vegas is so important to me and to the family.
<W< I love improv because things can get a little dark or twisted, but still be silly enough that you know it's unbelievable and for pretend. ^_^ Space work is great too! But you gotta practice at it, and work with another person who can compliment your space work.

littl3chocobo 07-13-2020 06:16 PM

as an aside; i like the hair on your avi, merskelly. it suits your facial configuration

Biomecha 07-13-2020 08:11 PM

I might steal that line telling someone it suits their facial configuration.
